698356 tn?1240150727 Right now I see a family physician that is a doctor of osteopathic medicine, which I love because he does integrative medicine. When thyroiditis was suspected they sent me to an endocrinologist. I'm not so sure about the endocrinologist and wondered what other types of doctors I should get opinions from. What doctors have you found helpful to get a better picture of your body being?
Avatar n tn Hi, all. I'm seeking some information or opinion on a situation and appreciate your time in listening. I have been in a relationship for about 6 months now. My girlfriend takes Yasmin for birth control and also takes Aldactone. She was told that the combination of the two of them would control a cystic acne problem she has had for many years and finally, after many, many years of failed treatments, this combination has worked for her.
Avatar n tn I noticed on your discussion board that the latter is a generic. Now, what I would like to know is which is the best medicine I should be taking and how should I approach my Endocrinologist for a change in prescription. I want to thank you very much for having this message board to solve problems. This is great and your are to be commended for taking time to answer questions.

Avatar f tn Does anyone know what I can do for these acne break outs? This is my first pregnancy and I'm breaking out on my chest, back, neck, face. I hate it! I feel like I'm 15 all over again. Any advice please help!
Avatar f tn isotretinoin also known as Accutane, can be prescribed by a doctor, or contraceptive pills with cyproterone for females with virilization or drospirenone. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acne_vulgaris#Treatments Let us know about how you are doing and what your doctor advises. Post us if you need any further information. Regards.
Avatar m tn I don't know how your skin will react to Decutan, no one can tell you that. If your acne are still coming out then use the medicine your doctor prescribed you. Just don't get addicted to your medicine, when it's time for you to stop using them, just stop and don't worry about new acne coming. If you get all stressed and obsessed with that, like "OMG i don't use medicine anymore now they will come back", of course they will come back than.
Avatar f tn Soo I have acne on my butt and I wanna get rid of it but I think acne medicine is the best way to get rid of it.. I use to use benzoyl peroxide on my face and it instantly helped me get rid of my breakouts. I was wondering if i can use it on my body too ?? and/or if anyone knows if theres a different type i can use instead of just putting it on at night and waking up with a sticky face (thats why I stopped putting it on..
Avatar n tn Oh, I'm sorry to hear about this. Skin problems are so emotional in nature too because of how we all are about our appearance. But you are not alone. When the health crisis blows over, seeing a dermatologist may be of benefit to you. They do have things they can prescribe. Retin-A is one of them. Some women also have success going on birth control pills when they have adult acne. Make sure your make up isn't contributing to the issue as well.
Avatar n tn However, now im anxious when it comes to stopping the use of this treatment for fear my skin will go back to how it was initially, as i don't wish to keep returning to the doctor everytime the tube finishes. So, my question is if i stop using Duac will my skin remain clear or just go back to how it was?
Avatar m tn s opinion on the effectiveness of Accutane on smaller acne heads. My acne is on my face, neck, back, and chest. There are not very many big acne heads (I have benzoyl peroxide5%, Differin 3%, and Minocyclin 100 mg twice a day). These medications play a big part in my not having many big zits. Anyways, I have lots of little acne heads all over. How effective is Accutane at getting rid of these heads and keeping them off? (from your experience or from official sources) Thanks!
Avatar n tn Hi, a couple of months ago, as the title of this post sugests ive started to get some acne mainly on my upper back and now also on my shoulders too. Cant believe it how it looks now and how it used to look (i was clear, and even used to make fun of my sister's acne on her back!). Damn puberty... =p What's the best product (cream or natural) that would get rid of these marks and acne effectively?
435985 tn?1249067908 I have been using Clearasil a little bit this time around, but I feel like there are mixed messages about using OTC acne creams. What has anyone done about acne during pregnancy?
Avatar f tn I have seen a few doctors and they put me on medicine yeah it would work for a while but if he stopped prescribing me the medicine, the spots would come back, I really would not mind staying on medicine for the rest of my life, if it means a clear face!!!! Please tell me what to do! I am going crazy and I feel like just doing nothing and staying in my home and not going out.
Avatar f tn I was taking Minocyclin on and off during this time for acne. I have read it potentially causes birth defects. Does anyone have any information about taking this medicine while pregnant?
Avatar m tn The best way I'm dealing with my cystic acne is through diet. Need to eliminate all food intolerances. Stick with an all natural diet. No processed foods whatsoever. Lots of water, proper sleep, plenty of exercise and stress free as much as possible. These are all good for the colitis too. We need to heal ourselves from the inside out. My acne breakouts seem worse two weeks before my monthly, so it could be due to hormonal imbalances too.
Avatar n tn Then rub that over your arms, chest, and back (get someone to do it for you is always best). This abrades the dead skin cells and the salt kills most bacteria. It will sting, but it's bearable. Let the salt stay on your skin for a couple of minutes, then shower it off. Of course it''s best to do this in the shower stall or bathtub. You can also follow this with a steam bath, but it's not necessary. I do this once a week and my back acne stays clear.
Avatar n tn Nothing really seems to help and its not easy to apply meds to back acne. I want to try accutane since nothing else really helps, because it works on the whole body and finally because its the only medication that could possibly put my acne into complete remission. I get the feeling that my derm won't prescribe it to me, although I'm gonna ask him this week, and wanted to know if I began self medicating myself how much should I take, when, and with what kind of meal.
Avatar f tn You can try the proactive body wash. It really does work I've never had back acne but when i was younger i had face acne. My mom bought me the proactive and it cleared up. My little sis had back acne we got her the body wash and it reduced back acne. I've seen it work maybe it'll work for you as well.
Avatar f tn Hi, would like to know whether anyone is facing acne problem after taking the controlling drug? please share....thanks all.
