Avatar m tn Used mebhydrolin, cetrizine, fexofenadine, for prophylexis, got result but no complete recovery. Taking mometasone masal spray, got result, but not complete respite. How to get rid of it?
Avatar n tn s more likely rhinitis. Antihistamine does not always rule out an allergy if antihistamine fails to stop it. But if allergy you should be somewhat less or no mucus while on antihistamine. Sounds pretty common and there are lots of things to treat it if this mucus production is from one of these. If none of this works you can try a product called NasalCrom sold most places. It is a non-steroid drug that stops a mucus cell from reacting to an irritant fume or allergy.
Avatar f tn Singulair can be used for Allergic Rhinitis like you have, however, this is usually prescribed for someone with Asthma issues secondary to Allergic Rhinitis. What nasal steroid are you using? Most of them can be used long term.
Avatar f tn If it persists, have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Antihistamine, decongestants and prescription medications may help provide relief. Take care and do keep us posted.

Avatar n tn But since the allergy testing all came back negative, it would seem I only have the non-allergic rhinitis. So I ask again, is it possible for triggers associated with allergic rhinitis to also cause allergic rhinitis? If this is possible then I would be able to agree with my doctor's diagnosis. However if this isn't possible, then it would mean that the allergy testing isn't at all reliable.
Avatar m tn Hi, How are you? Allergic rhinitis is a collection of symptoms, mostly in the nose and eyes, which occur when you breathe in something you are allergic to. This may present with itchy nose, sneezing , runny nose, tearing eyes, nasal congestion, and even headache. Have this evaluated further by your doctor for proper management. Your medical history and physical examination will help. It is important that you avoid what causes these symptoms.
Avatar m tn Basically, I have been dealing with Chronic Rhinitis for the past 6 months. I was a healthy individual who never got sick. Therefore, Anxiety has played a huge part of my illness, as any new symptom alarmed me as I had never experience it before. I have done countless research of how Histamine plays a huge part in overall allergy health. However, I am still not sure which is a bigger allergen for me, food or the air I breath.

Avatar f tn Hi, welcome to the forum, your symptoms are suggestive of allergic conjunctivitis which can form a granulomatous lesion over conjunctiva. Usually seen due to airborne allergens contacting the eye. If you have a history of hay fever, allergic rhinitis or bronchial asthma then the probability of allergic conjunctivitis is strong. But usually symptoms are seen in both the eyes.
Avatar f tn See an allergist for allergy testing. You might want to change your antihistamine to Zyrtec (or generic), but other than that, many people with various forms of rhinitis have to treat it daily with multiple meds. It might be that you just haven't stumbled onto the right combo for you to have good control. Treatment does depend somewhat on what form of rhinitis you have - allergic, non-allergic, vasometer...
