Avatar m tn immediatly after he took it he started developing gyno. it has been 4 days. when do you think they will stop growing? and he bought an anti estrogen+test booster. will will start taking in 2 days. how fast should these go away. the product is supposed to superb good for this.
Avatar m tn it has always been my understanding that, while gyno may have several root causes, the reason it shows up is because a man has an estrogen level that is too high, whatever the reason. If I DON'T have an increased estrogen level, how can I have gyno??? Can anyone help me understand this?
1472677 tn?1330175915 and if your gyno is not wanting to adjust your HRT please seak out a new gyno for a different opinion,,,,,bio identical hormones are the best.
Avatar f tn Which is okay when it is not heavy, but I went on the depo shot because a friend had suggested it to me. She said she experienced bleeding after the shot and was prescribed estrogen for it. She took it for 3 days and her periods and spotting stopped completely. Now, my doctors will not prescribe me anything. My family doctor said he has never heard of this, and my gyno (which is the same doctor who prescribed her the estrogen) keeps saying ignore it.
Avatar f tn Went to my gyno today to have some blood drawn to see where I'm at with the whole menopause thing. Started having hot flashes after upping my Cytomel dosage and both docs want to see if it's hormones or the cytomel. My gyno said that since I have no uterus she'd like to start me on estrogen if my labs show that I'm in perimenopause. I don't know why but I thought that if you didn't have a thyroid you weren't supposed to take estrogen. What is the protocol for this?
Avatar f tn My gyno has changed my birth control about 3 times and even checked my hormone levels. She says for someone on B/C, my estrogen/progesterone/testosterone levels are very good. I'm 32 and I know this can't be early pre-menopause. But it's beyond frustrating. I've seen shows of women who have had years of very painful intercourse and it turned out to be actual syndromes - one began with a "V" or a "D"?
Avatar f tn Dear Setter, You have received the good, standard chemotherapy drugs for recurrent ovarian cancer. There have been studies looking at anti estrogen and anti aromatase drugs for women with recurrence ovarian cancer. The drugs that have been used include tamoxifen, arimidex, letrozole. The response rate has varied from 0 to 50 %.. there may be correlation with the hormone receptor status of your tumor but this has not been well studied.
Avatar n tn Thanks for the response! Oh yes, I have scene a gyno, an endocrinologist, a dermatologist, etc for this. It was confirmed that the reason the hair started falling out was the change in my hormone levels from stopping the pill. The endocrinologist prescribed a high estrogen pill such as yasmin which I have now been taking for 3 years.
Avatar n tn I took birth control for about 8 years. I decided to stop, just for the hell of it (I originally went on birth control to get my period back because it had stopped once I went to college and played soccer in college and was exercising more than I ever had) So after I stopped, about 3 months after, my hair had started falling out at crazy amounts. I would say I lost like 40% of my hair. All hormone levels were normal, thyroid normal, etc.
1351105 tn?1277142905 No I have low estrogen levels for the past few months. My doctor did a test to see if I'm in premenapause. I'm very close to being in it. I haven't had a period in 3 almost 4 months. Last yeah I went almost 6 months without a period. I have endometriosis. Trying for another baby. No luck. It's been almost a year since we started trying. I've been having some crazy hot flashes since I got pregnant with my son and they never went away.
Avatar f tn I'm 42 and have a history of cysts on ovaries. Partial hyst 5 years ago, usually cysts have been simple until 2 years ago. Another cyst, this time complex and solid and was removed. Thought all was good but now again, ovary pain, severe at times since Jan of 07. Actually went to hospital then and CT revealed no cysts problem, gall looked good. Oh, appendix is gone also! The pain has been getting worse and I didn't go to my Gyno last year because I'm chicken and tired of surgeries.
Avatar f tn Your uterine lining is denuded. You need estrogen to thicken your lining. Unfortunately your only option for birth control after starting small doses of estrogen will probably be a copper IUD.
Avatar f tn Then I went to another gyno who said that recent studies have proved that estrogen only with uterus in tact is safer that in fact it's the progesterone that is toxic. Is anyone receiving the same advice?
Avatar n tn Im reading a lot of advice against the use of hormone replacement therapy, but the studies I have researched report that its the combination of progesterone and estrogen that is bad for you, and that estrogen alone may actually decrease the risk of breast cancer. My question then is has anybody else read any studies similar?
Avatar n tn His greater concern was cancer prevention and believed ovary removal for me was the best choice. My mother had breast cancer after menopause and took estrogen-blocking medicine after her surgery. So while estrogen helps make us feminine, it also can be our enemy and be "cancer food". There are arguments that loss of estrogen increases cardiovascular problems and osteoporosis...who knows? Even the medical community has differing opinions. I myself won't touch HRT.
Avatar n tn This type of treatment is one of the appropriate hormone (anti-estrogen) treatments of estrogen receptive breast cancer in post-menopausal women.
Avatar f tn I have had endometriosis for years and it's been fairly easily controlled (after lapro surgery several years ago) by non stop low dose birth control pills. Now that I'm in my mid 40's, I'm having a few subtle symptoms of it again but I'm mostly noticing wild mood swings, depressions, weight gain that no matter how much I work out and eat right seems to help, more cramps, etc. I was wondering if the estrogen in my b.c.
Avatar n tn My pathology report showed that my ovarian cancer was estrogen receptive/reactive. So why is HRT okay? My local gyno-oncologist and my gyno-oncologist at the Fred Hutchinson Center in Seattle both indicated it was okay. I like being on estrogen, but I am concerned because it seems risky. What is your opinion?
Avatar f tn A dr at a clinic gave me a pap test and told me that my cervix is bloody. I am 60 and have not had a period or any bleeding whatsoever in 8 years. What would cause this ? I'm waiting for reports to come back and it's driving me crazy. Will I need a hysterectomy ?
439700 tn?1207143477 I was given a 3week sample supply. I took them for 3 weeks and then ran out. ( lost my job and my ins so i cant get the Rx refilled.) I haven't had a period since Jan 3rd. Could the antidepressants be to blame??
Avatar n tn I always thought that low estrogen is causing these symptoms. What do you think? My GP told me that my estrogen levels are still low for my age and she would increase the Estrogel, but she isn't an hormone expert, so she don't want to intrude.. Thank you!
Avatar f tn t producing enough estrogen so now I take estrogen supplements on top of birth control and my sex drive is back. I hope everything works out well! Best of luck!
Avatar f tn To mom, it felt like he plans on keeping her on the estrogen for the rest of her life. She is feeling very torn between the two doctors who both want her to do different things. How do you stay a good and compliant patient to both doctors with opposing opinions? Are there really benefits to continuing estrogen therapy after a natural menopausal age? Is it a trend to continue the therapy indefinitely?
