Common Questions and Answers about Best adult acne solutions over the counter

acne

Avatar n tn I have this for about 4 years, but never saw a doctor about it. I treat it with over the counter acne meds, but it just won't go away. It just keeps the pimples at bay. They usually don't open, sometimes they are very painful and sometimes itchy. I have serious problems a few days after drinking red wine. Then my face looks twice as bad with the redness and outbreaks. I'm in my mid 40's, female. I eat very healthy, and I'm activ, non-smoker.
1388445 tn?1289267388 About a year ago my husband started developing adult acne. He's 26 years old. Since then it has just gotten worse and worse. It now covers his cheeks, most of his fore-head and down his neck and its starting to scar. It seems like we've tried everything! over the counter acne soaps, creams, lotions, pro-active, prescrisption medication, good hygene; washing his face alot. Sometimes it gets to the white head but some are just bumps. it looks, like irritated.
Avatar n tn I've always had issues with acne the majority of my teen to adult life. The only thing I've ever kinda found to help was tanning beds, obviously now I'm pregnant I've stopped and my skin is so gross! Anyone have any natural remedy solutions or products? I'm sick of it!
Cat Hi! If you were my patient, I would advise you that the best products for rosacea and acne are prescription antibiotics. One option to consider would be laser or broad band light treatments at a medi-spa in your area, These are pricey too, but can give lasting results. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Genetic factors perhaps determine the failure of acne-prone follicles to become in to into acne-resistant follicles in early adult life. In-fact it may be thyroid auto-immunity that needs to be tested, and might have a bearing in adult acne. Regards.
Avatar m tn For the itching take some over the counter antihistaminic like benadryl or Claritin. In case the symptoms persist then antifungals may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar f tn Have her put Udderly Smooth hand/foot cream on her hands and feet MULTIPLE times a day. You can buy it over the counter and if you can't find it, use Bag Balm. It helped me a lot.
Avatar f tn yes yes, I am clean from Vicoden, Antidepresants but still am using a sleep aid, have been using over the counter meds for sleep since the 80's then went to prescription sleep aid and now I only sleep 3 or 4 hours using them. I am going to go off them soon. My Dr would like to see me wait until Jan just because I came off two meds this year and had surgery's but please don't go to prescription sleep aids I think it is harder to get off them than OCT.

Avatar n tn But, I would like to know if there is an over the counter medicine. I only get the urgency after a little stress. It stops after 10 hours or so on it's own. But, a cheaper "as needed" OTC medicine would sure be something I am interested in.
Avatar n tn Oh, I'm sorry to hear about this. Skin problems are so emotional in nature too because of how we all are about our appearance. But you are not alone. When the health crisis blows over, seeing a dermatologist may be of benefit to you. They do have things they can prescribe. Retin-A is one of them. Some women also have success going on birth control pills when they have adult acne. Make sure your make up isn't contributing to the issue as well.
Avatar f tn An over the counter medication is any medication that can be purchased without a prescription "over the counter", but does not make the medication safer and needs to be taken according to the directions on the package and there is a need to be more vigilent and take into consideration individual health, the benefits versus the risks and potential interactions with any prescribed meidcations.
Avatar f tn For some people they need to see a dermatologist and get prescribed an oral antibiotic that will help them regulate the hormones that cause their adult acne. Simple test are done by your dermatologist and you would be amazed at how well they work. Some people spend a fortune on over the counter drugs and realize one simple prescription by their dermatologist can solve the problem.
765828 tn?1306263868 , there could be a serious reason why this is happening, i dont mean to scare you, it could be that you are constipated and pushing to much, but if the bowl is filled up, i would call your doctor right away, and this way, they can rule out different causes and hopefully get to the problem, i wouldnt take anything over the counter until i was seen by a doctor, good luck, let us know how you make out.
Avatar n tn Here's some advice from the MedHelp website and our I'm Expecting app on constipation. You can find this in the app by going to the Pregnancy Diary from the home screen and selecting Constipation from the Symptoms menu. Then click the menu bar in the upper left and select Symptoms Manual to see your symptoms. Hope you feel better soon! http://www.medhelp.

Avatar f tn Hi there, It could most likely be age as well, there is a clindamycin gel that helps way more than the over the counter stuff. I work in wound care in the hospital, dont use alcohol or anything that will dry it out. That actually slows healing process.
