I feel the Clindamycin is acceptable, but I am wondering if it is safe to use the hydrocortisone cream or if I should substitute it with desonide OR just skip those two ointments altogether? About twenty years ago I was treated with a prescription cortisone cream for an allergic reaction on my cheeks. I continued to use it nightly for a couple of years even though the rash resolved in about a month. It just made my cheeks feel really good. My dermatologist told me it could cause thinning of my skin so I stopped.
A couple of months ago I woke up to fing a pock mark on my cheek. I never had acne or any infection in that spot.
Daughter wants to get a chemical peel for some acne scarring on her facial cheeks. She has been on antibiotics (too harsh on stomach), antibiotic topical cream, retin-A, you name it over the years. I just got back from the Derm today and he reviewed my skin and he said that my acne redness is scarring.. Now i thought scarring is indentions in the skin? Is it not and that acne redness will fade with time because according to my derm he said that my acne redness is scarring and that the redness wont go away and that theres nothing that can be done about it. He said that i'll have to live with it for the rest of my life and that the only possible treatment for this is laser.

ve seen a doctor twice for this - he prescribed doxycycline to try and clear up the acne - which it has gone away with just a little scarring - but now I am left with painful, sometimes burning skin in the groin fold. It will dry up your skin and may cause a negative reaction like clogged pores. You can use acne products that do not contain salicylic acid, which most of them do. What saved my skin was the st. Ives avocado scrub, use every other day, and the Nuetrogena naturals moisturizer and cream wash I use daily.
t tried any topical or antibiotic prescriptions, and my acne is not severe, they thought accutane would be best as a first measure because it will knock out the acne, which will mean no additional scars. I was not well informed by my dermatologist about what I can expect my scarring to be like during the course of the accutane. She just said that if we stop the acne, we stop the scarring, then several months after we can look into their array of scar treatments.
Okay I know this topic isn't acne, but I couldn't find any other place to go too, and I'm wondering if I'm going to get a permanent scarring from my Cold Sore. I've had Cold Sore for a very young age, and before it wouldn't scar even when I first got it I was doing everything wrong. (rubbing it, itching it till it bleed, peeling it off when it was like exploding) and even through that it didn't scar it just went away without a mark.

i also have mild ice pick scarring and enlarged pores. i use acnecide 5% benzoyl peroxide gel every night for acne and yesterday night, i put on acnecide all over my fave and then put ambi fade cream with 2% hydroquione on top of it on my spots. i then put on aloe vera gel from holland and barretts as moisturiser. i woke up today morning with huge brown patches covering both my cheeks.my natural skintone is a golden tan colour and the patches are a much darker brown shade.
