s presently on Liadyl and her ulcerative colitis is under control but the cystic acne will not go away. She goes to the dermatologist constantly for injections, but the cysts just go down for a day and come right back up again. The dermatologist has given her a few prescriptions but nothing helps at all. She took Accutane for one week and ended up in the hospital with a severe colitis attack. She never had a problem with acne until 4 years ago when she developed the ulcerative colitis.

Does it even skin tone with out lightening the entire face, will is cause more bad than good, or is it not the best product to use for blemishes? i have mild to moderate acne. I have recently started using panoxyl face wash, which has 10% w/w benzoyl peroxide in it. I use the product once a day in the morning. Is the face wash more affective or is the panoxyl gel? and can i use the two products together?

I use velocity from Mary Kay its marketed for teens but it works amazing at keeping my oil under control I love it. And now its helping with my acne. Since I started it 3 weeks ago my face is considerably clearer and not looking like I have chickenpox on my face....

So I can say for sure that the rest of my face improved thanks to birth control. I have to mention though, i had very mild acne on the rest of my face...just blackheads on the nose and occasional little pimples here and there.

I use the Dove with moisturizer soap and it works really well for me. Another skin product that I found very useful was Neutrogena (for sensitive skin) - not sure if you have it in the UK, but it workes wonders for me when I have acne. I use the stuff that has little microbeads in it - it helps get the dirt/oil out of the poors. It literally feels like hand lotion with sand in it. Your skin could be very sensitive and thus by using a more powerful solution it will just harm your skin.

I bought tersaseptic antibacterial cleanser for my acne and my dermatologist said it's one of the best cleansers out there but I'm reading about it and it looks like it can cause cancer and it's bad for you. I've got really severe acne and I'm now taking accutane. If this cleanser is so bad why did my dermatologist recommend me to use it. I also got a lot of skin irritation and redness could this be a bad sign from the cleanser?

I am wondering what is a good type of birth control to take for acne and that will regulate my period, but won't effect my hormones too much? I have tried mulitple birth control such as ortho-tricyclen and multiple others that I can't remember the names to. I too am on Yasmin, but never had any problems while taking them. I was told that Yasmin bc is the best choice given to those with acne problems and pcos. It's a mild dose of bc. Try to give yourself 3 months to regulate it in your body. Consult your doctor if you have serious side affects. Are you taking any other meds for your pcos? I'm also on Metformin for weight issues. I started my journey in September 2008 at 333lbs and I am now at 272lbs.

I'm an esthetician, and I would suggest starting a good routine for your skin. Cleanse, tone, exfoliate and moisturize. Do these four steps every morning and night and I'm sure you'll see some improvement. Try not to be too hard on yourself though because acne in pregnancy is hormonal and there is only so much you can do for hormonal acne... The good news is it will clear up eventually. Also drink LOTS of water, this helped my acne a lot...

hi, my daughter is 16 years old. she has cystic acne on her face. chest and back. we have tried everything. peels. accutane, birth control pills, creams. so on and so on. is there something or someone out there doing cutting edge treatments? drug trials ? please just a product name or a name of a doctor that can help beyond the norm.
