What did the savella side effects do to some people i hear they are horrible?
But I assume Diuretic HCT has the least long term side effect compare to all other blood pressure drugs. May be you can tell me if this raised Triglycerides side effect is really damaging cholesterol problem, or just high reading in BP test? Or use Omega 3 to counter is good way to go?
like I need to take them - and want to take them ? when switched to another med for h.b.p - like I switched from a beta blocker (long term use) to a Ccb - If I dont take the med the same time every day , I have harsh reactions, when I take the med, after 30 to 60mins im fine again ( with the normal side effects happening to me ) sos. I do feel somewhat addicted to the meds ? so im wondering is there a addtiction to b.p meds ??? as per what I feel and had happen to me over the years !
Benicar allows the immune system to 'see' the bacteria. Benicar has minimal side effects in a patient who is healthy. However, in patients who are not healthy. The FDA still hasn't recognized this ! Benicar alone can make these people very ill... due to immunopathology. In fact, there was a MedHelp member who posted in the Autonomic Dysfunction forum. As you can see, he wasn't aware of the MP and for some reason, he was taking Benicar and then high doses of antibiotics together.
High levels can cause serious side effects, EVEN DEATH; low levels can cause symptoms of mania or depression. You will need to learn how to keep your lithium carbonate blood levels at a safe and effective level and to recognize the signs of high lithium carbonate, which include drowsiness, muscle twitching, and diarrhea. It is very important to have your blood tested regularly (from every week to every 6 or 12 months) to check lithium carbonate blood levels.
I am reading about people getting C-Diff from long term antibiotic treatment. My husband had C-Diff after antibiotics for pneumonia and he literally almost withered away. I thought he might die. It took him one month and a course of Flagyl and a course of Vancomycin to kill the nasty bug. I talked to my friend last night who is an MD and he said I could develop a MRSA infection? I don't understand what this treatment entails, fully and I am slowly becoming more and more scared.
also missing a dose or stopping those drugs can cause zaps. So, have your doc review all your prescribed meds and their side effects, and maybe switch you to other kinds of medicines, depending on which drugs might be bothering you. The lumbosacral spine disk herniations are what's causing all your leg sensations and back pain.
I hear you about the long-term side effects. I've been on Fosamax for my bones for many years and only recently learned that long term use of it can make one's bones brittle. Niiiice. Like the old saying goes, "Ya pays your money and ya takes your chances." :) Still, overall I think I've done well. You make the best decision for you with the information you have at the time. Hopefully someone who's had experience with Humira will chime in here.
I do not think my recovery would be as successful as it is were it not for treating the issues I developed subsequent to my long-term illness with Lyme/co-infections. The fact that I need multiple treatments to feel my best and to continue making progress does not make me doubt my diagnosis of Lyme and co. Instead it sadly makes sense to me that if you are sick for years without treatment, then the primary illness may trigger other health complications.
Anyone having long-term health issues caused by Chantix, if you haven't already, make sure you get a brain MRI. Serious damage showed in mine after 1 1/2 years of suffering the adverse reaction of Chantix.
When I saw an MS neuro a couple weeks ago and asked him about supplements, he recommended vitamin D (400 IU/day) and fish oil (I seem not to have written down how much; I am a long-time vegetarian and am still talking myself into this) for the omega-3's. Presumably he thinks these things aren't harmful and may possibly be beneficial. Here are tinyurl links to a couple pubmed abstracts about vitamin D and MS: http://tinyurl.com/2ya3cp http://tinyurl.
These are longering acting and according to some better at treating long term anxiety over the drug you are on (buspar) That drug is usually for short term treatment not long term. Also does your department have a shrink? If so you should pay him a visit. I am unaware if psych meetings go on your jacket, or could effect your promotion or pension. If this is a concern then you could get help outside the department.
I have been on it for a bit, slowly have gone up to 300 mg, slowly been having the wonderful weightloss side effect, but all my other side effects are oppisite of what is stated as what are probable side effects. Ok, no, I have not had any hairloss. As a matter of fact, if anything, it has been making my hair grow faster, and of that I am thankful, for I have had some mighty funky hair cuts this year. lol.
I am however, starting to get worried when researching side effects. One forum has horrible side effects starting after about 1 yr of treatment, from cancer to pneumonia and death. Now I am wondering if I should stay on it. I am also on Liadal, and iron pills. My bm's have improved, however there are still days where I cant leave my house, or come home to "change" my outfit.
Have found LARGE doses of prednisone help greatly (methylprednisolone, less so), but also cause side effects. Am currently taking Astelin and Rynatan as a steady regimen and Flonase semi-regularly. I am at my wit's end....any other ideas?
Were you on one of the Valcyte trials ? I'm debating between the treatment that I'm doing, which can take years, vs. the Valcyte trial... which I hear only takes about 3 months. But I have some concerns about Valcyte, as expressed on Dr. Podell's website. I'm also concerned about the effect that it could have on my immune system. _______________________________________________________________ "Valcyte is a drug with potential toxicity.
Acid reflux; short term memory loss. But I am willing to deal with this to live a "normal " life.. Recently, I found out a very interesting link between PFO ;migranes and strokes...go to www.pfodoctor.org and read about the connection of Paten Framen Ovale and strokes... and migranes.. It appears that if one has a PFO it MAY be the cause for migranes and strokes.. and if closed.. may prevent strokes.. and migranes...tests are starting now...
The facts are, the FDA, and other entities know very little about the meds they're putting out there, especially when it comes to long term effects and consequences. It's actually unnerving to read through the requirements of releasing a new med to the market. Take the SSRI antidepressants for example, they're still really considered "babies" as far as meds on the market go (they made their debut in the late 80's).
Doctors, insurance companies, and pharmaceutical companies. What do we get out of it? Side effects from the prescriptions and more medical bills. Now, I'm not saying that doctors don't try to help but the challenge they have, is that people come to them with a problem and they doc tries to help, but once that person leaves there office they go back to the same habits and environment. Why have we let ourselves get this far off track? We all need to take responsibility for our health.
No problem, i am here to help. You have mentioned a few thing's that are important for me to point out. First off we are both of similar age and i also got prescribed androgel. The problem is when you take Androgel it can (and almost does) shut down your own natural production (HPTA supression), so it dosen't work in a "suppliment" like fashion.
If short-term wrinkled fingertips are because of the water going into the pores of the skin and thus making swollen fingertips. Long-term wrinkled fingertips could be triggered because of possibly the following: the low fat diets mean there wont be as much sweat being released from the glands in the body. The pores wont be opened and the glands will be clogged. The water will stay there and any sodium will add to the wrinkles.
On the other hand it's totally counter productive to take these caps for the rest of your life every other day because there will be no effects , forget about side effects . Vitamin D is one of the least toxic substances in the body but the big government and the big pharma scares people around but only so much that they keep on buying it and using it in ineffective way thus ensuring profit for corporations and government.
When it first started I thought it was my cell phone ringing but my phone was not in my pocket. I feel the vibration all day long and it has a pattern to it. It is a weired feeling and I can not figure out what causes this and why it will not go away. Can you tell me why I feel this?
Scary to say the least! Amiodarone is not a long term solution, as it can be toxic to the liver, kidneys. thyroid and/or lungs. And they say I am too young for it (I am nearly 58, mind you!), so I have to laugh -- feel free to "guffaw" along with me! :) I always thought doctors HAD to tell you the whole story for ANY procedure.. not just the good possibilities/probabilities, but the risks as well.
Can the liver be screwed up for this long and still avoid being detected? Can inflamation be detected by ultrasound? It feels like it's burning, not like heartburn, but a firey sensation...hard to describe. Someone, please help me settle my fly away brain...thanks.
Hopefully some doctor or scientist will get off his/her butt and actually figure out what this problem is and the severity it has on the health of our bodies and lives. I am concerned it will have long term effects. I, for one, prefer not to live the rest of my life with this most annoying problem.
This means you may be at increased risk of serious side-effects, and should closely monitor your progress on these medications with your doctor.
I haven't seen her since but I have a feeling she learned that day what fear can do. Kind of a long story to emphasize that by focusing on fear, you will always present with higher numbers. And one other thing, by sitting at one of those drug store BP machines and taking your BP 15 times in rapid succession is NOT a good thing to do!
