What questions should I ask re what type of blood pressure medication I should be on? I tried benicar and lisinopril and caused sinus drainage - however, they worked Then tried hydrochlorothiazide which cause major constipation .... Now on amlopidine beselate and coreq cr and have fatigue....seems the latter meds are overkill as I had only one coronary stent over 10 hrs ago and cardiologist a few weeks ago said my heart is fine.
I've recently been having terrible anxiety and one of the changes in my life is that I've started taking Benicar 40mg for high blood pressure. I saw on a post somewhere that benicar can cause this. Has anyone else heard of this?
Flecainide does not raise blood pressure and metoprolol is sometimes used to lower blood pressure. If you blood pressures are high, it suggests you might need more blood pressure medication or that you are very anxious about the medication change (this can happen). If the benicar was stopped -- it sounds like it needs to be restarted. A generic ACE inhibitor like lisinopril is cheaper and works just as well.
You have symptomatic PVC that need to be treated with a medication called a beta blocker. If that doesn't help you could have an ablation procedure where we target and burn the origin of the PVC. The PVC's aren't typically a sign of a heart attack. Benicar is not causing your PVC's. They are probably related to you blood pressure and the effect that it has on your heart muscle.
My cardiologist wants my blood pressure as low as possible without side effects. Lower blood pressure reduces the workload of the heart and provides time for the heart to completely recover from the operation. If you experience dizziness, fainting, etc., your doctor may want to adjust the medication, but if you can tolerate your current blood presssure the better it is for your heart.
I have being training for several running races for 5 months. Before going into a preparation for a half marathon training, I went to the cardiologist to do a check up, as I know my BP always was borderline to be considered high. I did Echo, Stress tests and 24h BP measurements. Echo and stress went all right, but BP was slightly high, my mean systolic pressure was 133 and mean diastolic was 83, with the maximum during the test being 148 an 100.
This is the first time I have been on blood pressure medicine, and the drug has worked very well in terms of my blood pressure itself. I take my pressure at home with an electric blood pressure monitor and I now average about 130 over 72 to 75.
My question is, are there side effects associated with lowering blood pressure that much that fast? The reason I ask is that I feel as though I do not have good circulation in my feet.
I experience variuos fluctuations even using Benicar. My blood pressure had some for some reason risen to 170/101 two months ago and my primary doctor prescribed Benicar. Well, it reduce my blood pressure to the normal range, but it fluctuates to as low as 86/54 and up to 136/86. Along with this I have lightheadeness, dizziness, some breathing problems, some numbness in my hands and unsteady walking. What I would like to find out if this relates to heart trouble.
About a year ago I was put on high blood pressure medication, Benicar 20mg a day. I have never had any types of heart issue and in the last year have developed or started to notice regular PVC's. I have had them checked out and they are PVC's and they drive me nuts because they make me feel real uncomfortable. Could the PVC's be caused by the benicar?
Please note that for the past 10+ years my mother has been taking Verapamil 240 mg in the morning and Benicar 40 mg at night. Her blood pressure spike really high which is why she takes the strong Verapamil in the morning and a softer blood pressure medication (Benicar) at night. Anyway, after the episode where I had to take her to the emergency room we got her back on her usual routine of Verapamil and Benicar.
I had a similar experience and my doctor told me to give it some time so that my body could adjust to the med. After a month or so, and after upping the dose of atenolol from 50 to 100 mg (I also take 40 mg of Benicar), my blood pressure is in the 120's to 70's range throughout most of the day (lower early in the morning and the evening). But I also take the bp meds every day. Could your hbp on vyvanse be aggravated by a rebound effect from not taking atenolol?

Ok....I have been having what I call flutters for two years. I am 35 years old and up until a couple years ago (when these flutters started) I was moderately active. I walked on treadmill alot and maintained a decent weight. My father passed away from a heart attack at 44 yrs old. I have always had anxiety issues with occasional full blown panic attacks. Anyway over the last six months my flutters became worse and have gained alot of weight.
Have them try a bigger cuff on your arm, when taking your blood pressure. Both my sister and my husband have been incorrectly diagnosed with high blood pressure for YEARS. My husband's doctor said it was likely because the nurses were too lazy to switch to the bigger cuff... Something to think about.
Hi. I have had high blood pressure for years. Like really high -- 190+over 90 very often. So I'm working on taking medication but I have a question about amlodipine. I start with Lisinopril 40mg, but my doctor added amlodipine. It helps but my ankles and legs swell up really bad. Thoughts or suggestions would be helpful. thanks.
Hello, I was declared to suffer from High Blood Pressure since 4 months ago. I always take my meds for it, but was wondering about something.
Sometimes I feel dizzy, then a bit of pressure in my chest, bu tmore like coming from the inside rather than outside, start sweating from my hands and get nervous.
My doctor does have me on benicar and viporin. These are for what he said are slightly elevated blood pressure and cholestrel. Now he said my blood tests came back with an lft of 45 and an aft of 34. He said I need to stop drinking for 2 months and take these tests again for my liver. He isn't explaining to me what this all means or what is going on. Just to stop drinking and retake the blood work. Can these drugs cause damage to your liver?
I don't want to worry you but spikes in blood pressure always worry me.. My blood pressure and many of my family members were always on the low normal side in our thirties and mostly in our early 40's, then ours would spike almost overnight, they called it a family phenomenon, in 2014, after many blood tests, I found it was genetic, blood mutations, clotting disorders. mine spiked to 185 over 150.
After a lifetime of lower than average blood pressure (90/60) and virtually no headaches, in the last two months I have developed high BP and a constant headache. Doctor visit for headache found BP at 150/93. Coreg/20mg was prescribed.
After a week BP dipped very slightly, and Coreg/40mg was prescribed. Results were not much better.
The ache is “whole head” and in back of neck. It’s a little better in the morning but gets worse through the day, correlating with BP going as high as 161/90.
The doctor did my blood pressure at it was 110/70. we kept everything the same Benicar 20mg/12.5mg. and Topral XL 25mg. I need to get moving again. I haven't pushed myself past my comfort range but my food intake is going well.
I don't know if you read my aortic dilation posts. But it was found via a CT scan with contrast. I presented with chest pains. Turns out to be a issue from recent surgery and the and my esophagus and stomach are hurting and out of whack,
long story short.
I am a 34yo white female. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure after the birth of my second child, however did now have hbp during my pregnancies. I gained quite a bit of weight with my second child. When my 2nd child was about a year old I began having "headaches". My doctor assumed this was related to my bp and put me on fluid pills (dyazide) which infact, did regulate my bp. However the headaches were probably 80 % worse than they were with the hbp.
