benicar and benadryl

a day before the surgery along with Zocor to control cholesterol. I am now on Plavix, Toprol XL, Zocor and Benicar. My blood pressure has been low, in the range of 90/60 since the surgery but the cardiologist wants me to continue the Benicar. He said it's "good for the heart". Has anyone ever heard of this before? My understanding was that Benicar is for high BP. Also, I have been feeling very down and blue a lot of the time.

Benicar keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow. Benicar HCT has a diuretic included as well. I have been fortunate, Benicar has worked from the first day I took it and works well still today. My 90 day average BP is 108/67 down from 135/85 when I started. I have had no side effects as well, the best of both worlds!

Before the Losartan, I was taking 90 mgs of Armour (which is T3 AND T4) daily. After just a few weeks on the Losartan, I became hyperthyroid for a while, and my doctor lowered my dose of Armour (down to 60.) I have not noticed heat intolerance, but I am losing weight--slowly (which I don't mind as I am about 20 lbs over bikini-wearing level.) Never heard of the Marshall protocol, but I'm going to look it up!

i went too take my meds and took the wrong stuff, im on benicar 40/25 my wife is on benicar 20 make along srory short ive took 120mg of benicar by mistake should i be worried

I also have had an elevated BUN and Creatinine since beginning Benicar. I am also on Toprol XL 25mg daily. My Benicar dose was dropped from 40 to 20 mg daily last visit. I am concerned about the elevated BUn as it is indicative of renal issues. I drink more water daily and will see on my next visit to doc in Sep what we will do as a plan if my labs are abnormal. I might add I think these 2 have also elevated my cholesterol and LDL! Look forward to follow up note.

I am going to be asking my doctor that same question!! I never had anxiety until I started taking Benicar and I am only on 10 mg 1x per day.

About a year ago I was put on high blood pressure medication, Benicar 20mg a day. I have never had any types of heart issue and in the last year have developed or started to notice regular PVC's. I have had them checked out and they are PVC's and they drive me nuts because they make me feel real uncomfortable. Could the PVC's be caused by the benicar?

Dear Doctor, I am a healthy 36 year old male. In the last year I was put on Benicar 20 mg for high blood pressure. In that year I have began to notice PVC's that started occassionally and now are happening everyday all day. They drive me crazy. My blood pressure is under control and I exercise regularly. Could the Benicar cause the PVC's? I have had them checked out with my doctor and they tell me that they are okay and that they are PVC's. They drive insane.

My resting pulse rate was between 50 and 60, now with benicar is above 70. My question - Is this really the medicine side effects ? which drug could be better to not affect my running performance? Am I really with high blood pressure, because I've read some people saying that for people who are very active, it's common to have low pulse rate and relatively high systolic pressure?

My dr put me on Benicar 20mg and Toprol XL 25mg to lower my blood pressure. I have a fast pulse too (always over 100). Will these meds lower my pulse also?

My blood pressure was 120s/60s on sotalol and Benicar. Is this opposite effect (higher instead of lower blood pressure) common with this medication? Thank you.

Just curious, I was started on Benicar HCT 40/12.5 about 3 or 4 years ago at a time when I was at my peak weight, well over 300 pounds, not taking very good care of myself and not exercising. My blood pressure was running around 140/85 at the time. I underwent some cardiac work ups due to some chest pain over that time period including a couple of Nuclear Stress Tests and Echos along with all the blood work that is usually done, all tests were always normal.

The chest pain has returned and the diastolic pressure is 53.I am currently on benicar hct 40/25 and my bp has been 126/53. Should I stop taking the benicar? Not sure what to make of the chest pain.I am a 48 yr. old female other wise in good health.

I believe I used this function years ago and got a list of doctors. My doctor who I have now uses Benicar, however does not follow all aspects of the protocol. She says the Benicar helps the antibiotics work better which I guess is the theory behind the Marshall Protocol. You can also try to google "marshall protocol doctors" and see what comes up.

I eat Chinese every day but it is home cooked and without the MSG and sodium. My point is that I have a balanced diet and lead a balanced existence. I am hoping for some help in identifying what it is that's wrong with my lower extremities so I can work towards treatment. I've undergone the foremost tests without any indication what-so-ever as to cause. If anything, the test reveal that I'm actually in pretty good shape. So why the pain?

For the record, I had my gallbladder removed today laparoscopically and did not stop taking the Benicar HCT. No troubles that they felt worth mentioning, so it does sound like at my dosage, it was fine. And, yeah...the surgery itself was unbelievably easy!

If you have time to shed a little light on this, I would appreciate it. After two weeks on Coreg and just a small decrease in BP, I took 20mg Benicar this morning (10mg four hours apart), and my BP went down to 98/60 (normal for me). My headache all but vanished, and I feel limp as a dishrag. Why did Coreg not hit the mark, while little-known Benicar did? Is this an indicator of the cause of my high BP and headaches? Thank you.

He fought changing me so I told him I was going to change doctors and he finally relented and but me back on Benicar. I love that drug, works great and no side affects for me. I'm fairly sure the doctors at my new health care provider gets some kind of incentive to prescribe other drugs than Benicar, but who knows, maybe that's how I got Benicar in the first place!

High blood pressure can be due hardening and occlusions of the coronary and system vessels and can be secondary to another medical issue. Sometimes hbp is ideopathic meaning the underlying cause is not known. If your hbp is secondary to heart vessel disease, a stress test would be appropriate and/or echocardiogram to determine if there has been any enlargement of the heart and if there is any heart wall movement impairment..

Someone suggested that I consider inner imaging screening (EBT Hart scan). I am on Lipitor and Vytorin, I was taken off of Benicar two months ago because of the back pain and an elevated CPK 200's. Recent blood test revealed my cholesterol at 118 but my CPK at 205 and still experiencing lower back back pain. My blood pressure is 110/70 to 120/80. No prior hart problems. Do you think I should consider this image screening?

I have the pain in the neck and upper shoulders all the time. I have an office job and do a lot with the mouse and keyboard. I am currently taking ultram 4 times a day Flexeril 3 times a day, toprol 3 times a day, benicar, 1 a day, Neurotin 300 mg. 3 x a day. It is not helping. I have pain in my legs and lower back also. I am having a terrible time trying to stay awake each day. Between 10 and 2 I feel like my head is continually dropping. Has anyone found anything for this fatigue?

He wants me to start on Benicar 20 mg and Norvasc 5 mg. Well I took the benicar day one and forgot to go pick up the norvasc at the pharmacy and did okay. The second day on the Benicar I did good but when I left work I forgot to go to pharmacy for Norvasc so I was gong after dinner. Before I had the chance within a 2 minute time frame my heart rate went from normal to 160 bpm and would not stop. Went to er where they did blood work and said all blood work looked normal.

Both are under total control with medications (Glucotrol XL 10 mg and Metformin 1000 mg 2 times daily, Also Benicar 10 mg and duriatic pill 25 mg ) I never dink nor smoke and I have no evident health problems .

The chest pains got worse and my PCP switched me from the Coreg to Benicar 40mg since my BP was not low enough and my chest pains increased on the Coreg. A new cardiologist did a nuclear stress test and a calcium score test and i wore an event monitor for 21 days.and it came out negative for any problems. I have also had a renal ultrasound, an abdominal ultrasound, cartoid artery ultrasound, x-ray of back and neck and all were fine.

What questions should I ask re what type of blood pressure medication I should be on? I tried benicar and lisinopril and caused sinus drainage - however, they worked Then tried hydrochlorothiazide which cause major constipation .... Now on amlopidine beselate and coreq cr and have fatigue....seems the latter meds are overkill as I had only one coronary stent over 10 hrs ago and cardiologist a few weeks ago said my heart is fine.

I start with Lisinopril 40mg, but my doctor added amlodipine. It helps but my ankles and legs swell up really bad. Thoughts or suggestions would be helpful. thanks.

Have you seen a pulmonary doc for this? That would be my suggestion.

Before I try a prescription med that others use for the excessive sweating problem, I would like to rule out current meds. Does anyone with this problem take Benicar or Lexapro or Omeprazole?.
