It doesn't reduce cholesterol, it raises the levels of HDL, the good cholesterol. So does flax seed oil and hemp seed oil, but with different essential fats. It also acts as a mild blood thinner. What you want to do is start taking it and see on your next blood test if your HDL has gone up -- that means you're getting a good dose. High HDL is much more beneficial than high LDL is harmful.

Probably not, because there is not much scientific data suggesting that ginko, flax seed, etc is a quid pro quo substitute for coumadin.......and there are not many doctors who would risk the liabilty and the patients life by using an unorthodox treatment. I do believe it can be over prescribed... but it is also an important treatment.........my sister had a pulmonary embolism, resulting in a pulmonary infarct, and took coumadin for 6 months, period. That makes sense.
If so mix fruit, yogurt and add flax seed meal or flax oil. Flax will help put on weight and its full of omega 3. Ginger root is good for digestion. Grate a little and put it in the smoothie, oatmeal etc. You are right about the MELD score having limitations. Hi, 1st and foremost... congrats on the weight loss!!! Please tell me how you're taking the linaza? Which liquid and what times in the day??
No one has mentioned anything about weight loss here and She is wondering why. All the conversation seems to be about weight gain. Has anyone experienced any type of weight loss?
diet change, garlic, fish oil, and flax seed oil, among others; but I was never able to significantly lower my numbers. I have tried Lipitor twice for a short period of time and it worked, but I am not comfortable taking statins due to the possible side effects.
Hello loved your post! Salmon is so so good for one to eat. Any type of fish is good, but those propertys found in salmon are great!. Ok now I have a thought. Last august I had a serious bout of pvc that sent me to the er 11 times in one week. The only thing I changed was I ran out of flax seed oil. "oil" found in the refrigerator section at the health food store. I had been taking it for appx three months every day to reduce cholesterol. So anyway I ran out of it right?

And of course provided that the weight loss and the ongoing dietary principles ( the metabolic stress avoidance to the liver) are handled with great care. As for the antifibrotic supplements green tea extract might make it even more complete. The sum of all these measures has a realistic chance to halt or even reverse mild fibrosis. This needs to be proven on a case by case basis by either paired biopsies or paired fibroscans, properly performed.
From what I have noticed, the best protocol to follow would be Dr Simeons protocol. I had friends following Trudeaus & they kept flitlining in their weight loss. I have completed one 23 day cycle with a weight loss of 28ls, had 3 weeks off & now on day 13 of my second round with an addition 14 lbs weight loss. For the non math people, thats 41 lbs in 60 days! I have stuck to the 500 calorie per day regime. Breakfast. Coffee & Stevia for sweetner.
I was wondering how omega 3 fats fit into this. I took a look at my flax seed oil..... One TBSP (14 g) = one serving total calories from Fat 120 TOTAL Fat 14 g saturated fat 1.5 g * Trans fat 0 Poly unsaturated fat 10 g * Mono unstaturated fa t 3 g * Hmmmm .....
I’ve read every comment on this thread, and I intend to get some flax seed oil on payday, because it’s the only thing that even remotely looks like a possible solution for me. I’m 26 and my husband and I have been together since I was 17. When I was 22, I was diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis, which sometimes could make sex painful, but did not dry me out - it was only referred pain, and controllable as long as I managed my diet and drank plenty of water. So that wasn’t too big a deal.
ALT fluctuations can be the result of a wide range of factors inlcuding diet, stress, minor infections, excessive exsercise (ALT of a forum member rose to 500s during a period of intense exercise and rapid weight loss and returned to near normal after drastic reduction of exercise load), insulan resistance etc etc etc. Have you visited the caring ambassadors hep c site. Their 'Hep C Choices' book can be downloaded free.
Ground flax seed on your food (a few tablespoons a day) will be a big help too...or you could use fish oil capsules or flax seed capsules. The extra omega 3s help with menopausal symptoms. I can't use the fish oil as I belch it up and that is truly awful. I was so tired I was falling asleep at all hours of the day. My thyroid was off and after a week of my doc bumping up my thyroid medication I'm AWAKE again. It's amazing.
and then taking vitamin d, fish and flax seed oil, exercise, meditation, etc.... People think they are eating healthy, like I THOUGHT I was...but before actually reading about what healthy eating actual is, I realized I wasnt eating as healthy as I thought. A combination of things causes MS...one of them may be diet, but it is not diet alone.
