How do metoprolol, isosorb, and benazepril together, differ from, norvasc and lanoxin.
I was on benazapril for hbp for quite a while, developed a slight dry scratchy cough my doctor described as benazepril cough. He changed me to valsartan last week and thats where the real fun began :-( 3 days on valsartan and I was having horrible side effects of dizziness, rapid heart rate, general feeling of crappiness, even slight shortness of breath with the slightest exertion None of which I experienced with the benazepril.
My dog was recently put on Benazapril for her kidney issues. Some of the side effects say it can cause kidney issues. Anyone have any idea what I should be watching for to differentiate the Benazapril side effects from her kidney failure symptoms? Anyone have experience with it? One of the side effects is also anorexia, and she is not interested in food today. I can't tell if this is because of the new meds or her illness.

Boceprevir may increase the blood levels and effects of amLODIPine. This can increase the risk of serious side effects such as irregular heart rhythm, fluid retention, swelling, heart failure, and excessively low blood pressure. While living in the US I was using Benazepril 40 mg, but now I'm living in Ecuador and that med is not available here not as lotensin on benazepril.

There is at least one sporadic case reported in the literature of neuropathy associated with an ACE inhibitor. When reviewing side effects from these medications, paresthesias (abnormal sensation) is reported to be associated with ACE inhibitors in less than 1%. Patients on amlodipine on the other hand, sometimes report abnormal sensation in the legs but mostly associated with “swelling”, and not associated with neuropathy.

I am 75. I take 75 mg of atenolol and 40 mg of benazepril hcl every day. I had an echo stress test (speed increases every two minutes) and at 6 minutes my blood pressure starting falling so the test was stopped and the doctor said sometimes with blood pressure medicine that happens. He said my heart was fine. I had a by-pass 12 years ago. So do I have to worry?
It could be a side effect of the methadone or even an allergic type reaction to it. I remember when I took Macrobid (antibiotic) for a urinary infection, I had a high fever (102.3) every time I would take it, so I called my doctor's office and they told me to stop it immediately because I was having an allergic reaction to it. As it turned out, my father had had this same type of reaction to it a couple years before.
Never hurts to tell your doctor, but i wouldn't be worried sounds like normal side effects to me........ Best to you going forward.
I will do that it seems the higher dose has created this and I'm not on anything else.
I used both, and found that side effects are similar; tiredness, weight gain, and a slow pulse. Side effects are more pronounced as the dosage is increased. I had dosages from 25mg to 200mg. daily. Other reported effects are loss of libido, tightness in the chest, itching, irregular breathing, and irregular heartbeat. I wouldn’t be shy about discussing any problems you’re experiencing with your doctor; IFN has a rather extensive side effect profile, so your doctor shouldn’t be surprised it you’re having some problems with side effects.

sorry to hear your hubby is having a hard time. sounds like he is having some of the common side effects. There is nothing that can boost platlets but many docs let them go really low before lowering or stopping the meds. Try and get back on the full strength of interferon ASAP!
Probably the most common side effect is the itching. I have it as well and it is horrible. I have found some relief with a prescription med called Atarax.
Yes, I've only been on it a week and I experience the muscle aches and bilateral flank pain as well. In addition, insomnia!
