Avatar n tn I was on benazapril for hbp for quite a while, developed a slight dry scratchy cough my doctor described as benazepril cough. He changed me to valsartan last week and thats where the real fun began :-( 3 days on valsartan and I was having horrible side effects of dizziness, rapid heart rate, general feeling of crappiness, even slight shortness of breath with the slightest exertion None of which I experienced with the benazepril.
Avatar f tn It really depends on why your vet put her on Benazepril? Is it for diagnosed high blood pressure - or is it to help the kidneys function better through increased blood flow? Benazepril is a good drug for either, but if it is merely to help the kidneys (in other words, if your dog does not already have high blood pressure), then extreme caution is needed.
Avatar m tn If you search 'ketoconazole' online, the first link that popped up for me is from the NIH (National Institutes of Health in DC) and the second one is from the website 'rxlist', which is pretty good imo at explaining medical/scientific/pharmaceutical stuff at a high level but not completely over my head. Rxlist seems pretty well balanced, and I usually go there when curious about some medication I'm supposed to take.

Avatar m tn Nervous System Disturbances The NIH states that coma or convulsions could be a sign of Tylenol overdose. According to the RxList, such nervous system involvement is rare, except in the case of a massive overdose or if the person is also taking or has overdosed on other medications that may interfere with the nervous system. Coma can also occur during an overdose if the patient is going into liver failure.
Avatar n tn I took lantus throughout treatment. However, my doctor pulled me off metformin because it sometimes messes with ALT levels, making it difficult to get an accurate picture of how liver enzymes respond to tx. I ate so little during tx, and a lot of it was ice cream. Nevertheless, for some reason - despite all the sugar in ice cream - my A1c was better during tx than it ever was before or after.
Avatar f tn It can also cause fever and chills. The steriods do mask the sysptoms of chemo. rxlist has info about it.

Avatar n tn Stroke might refer to a blockade in some of the brain arteries (ischemic stroke) or to a bleeding of those arteries (hemorrhagic strokes). I think that Coumadin, being an anti coagulant, may cause strokes of the second type, in particular if associated with high BP. From the RXLIST: "Potential adverse reactions to COUMADIN may include: Fatal or nonfatal hemorrhage from any tissue or organ. This is a consequence of the anticoagulant effect.
Avatar m tn My readings have been like 156/85 and as high as 167/90. I have been on Benazepril since May. I have felt better ever since taking the medicine no doubt. Not one single headache and I generally feel better. My blood pressure had went down a little on my last vist. It was about 148/84. The doctor still saw the need to put me on another medication, so now im taking Benazepril and Amlodipine. And at times checking my BP myself it has been down to like 127/80. Im only 24 and thats what worries me.

Avatar n tn This is what I scouted out on Rxlist . com , which is a decent site. Do a little research on the web from reputable sites and you'll get a clearer picture considering your own personal health situation. ----copied from RxList's site----- General: ROXICODONE® is intended for use in patients who require oral pain therapy with an opioid agonist. As with any opi-oid analgesic, it is critical to adjust the dosing regimen individually for each patient (see DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION).
Avatar m tn how much protein do you show in your urine? protein in urine could be a sign of progressive kidney failure. i am going to be taking a 24 hr urine in October 2009, hopefully the news is good. as far as the benazepril 10mg i haven't had any side effects...one of the most common side effects with blood pressure pills is a cough that could appear at anytime. also it is a good idea to keep your blood pressure below 130/80. sorry i took so long to answer.
1347038 tn?1276540857 It has come down a lot the last year due to weight loss and exercise. My diet has improved tremendously! I used to be on Atenolol and Benazepril. I am completely drug free, and have been since Jan. 21st of this year. My body could be healing from all the prescriptions I used to be on? The heart thing comes and goes no rhyme or reason?

Avatar m tn Benzodiazepines can very well be addicting meds, they are a schedule class III drug, the same category as Vicoden. From rxlist "Use of benzodiazepines, including lorazepam, may lead to physical and psychological dependence." So i would definitely talk with your doctor before stopping these meds, you might have to do a slow taper. Best of luck to you!
Avatar n tn You could try doing a search on the internet. rxlist might be a good place to start. They usually disclose what medications are indicated for. Did you challenge your doctor on the choice of med or mention your concerns?
1679876 tn?1304743615 I suggest to read the entry on Advert in RXLIST since it also can increase BP in addition of other issues that may be relevant to you. Is your cardiologist aware of all your medication?
Avatar f tn I was disqualified from a job process due to this medical condition called left ventricular hypertrophy. 1004097 tn?1251117610 I have both hypertension and hypothyroidism. I take Benazepril for my blood pressure and am on a combination of levothyroxin (T4 med) and cytomel (T3 med) for the hypothyroidism. I take my levo first thing in the morning (which for me is 3:30 am), then I take the cytomel about 7:00 am to help me get through the day. I take my blood pressure med at the same time I take my cytomel, but benazepril is not a beta blocker, it's an ACE inhibitor. T4 and T3 meds are NOT the same thing.
