While living in the US I was using Benazepril 40 mg, but now I'm living in Ecuador and that med is not available here not as lotensin on benazepril.
What can I sustitute it with?

My 69 year old husband had surgery for a mitral valve repair and aortic valve replaced with an On-X valve on July 29, 2009. His ejection rate is 25% and the cardiologist wants him seen by as specialist to consider a biventricular pacemaker with defibrillator. He had indicated that he has left ventricular cardiomyopathy that might be a separate condition and not secondary to the valve issues. He also has left bundle branch block.
Good Morning! I'm hoping someone here can help me a little. I was on benazapril for hbp for quite a while, developed a slight dry scratchy cough my doctor described as benazepril cough. He changed me to valsartan last week and thats where the real fun began :-( 3 days on valsartan and I was having horrible side effects of dizziness, rapid heart rate, general feeling of crappiness, even slight shortness of breath with the slightest exertion None of which I experienced with the benazepril.
I still want children very badly and was told that basically, there were meds that I can take instead of Lisinopril, but I would have to stop taking Coreg. Of course, I would just have to see how I would do without Coreg... Are there any alternatives to Coreg?
I have been taking Lisinopril for 2 years and since then my resting heart rate is between 90-100. Here recently though after I take Lisinopril it has jumped to 130 when walking 100 when resting. I take Lisinopril in the morning and my pulse jumps but at night it gos back to being okay (Lisinopril's half life is 12 hours). I haven't taken today because I was out but my resting pulse is 90 and when I went to WalMart it went no higher than 110 unlike 140 yesterday.
It really depends on why your vet put her on Benazepril? Is it for diagnosed high blood pressure - or is it to help the kidneys function better through increased blood flow?
Benazepril is a good drug for either, but if it is merely to help the kidneys (in other words, if your dog does not already have high blood pressure), then extreme caution is needed.
I have been taking 40 mg lisinopril for 3 months. It works on my BP but I am coughing and my nose is running.
So it would be important to try to distinguish whether the cough is related to the med or to the CHF (ie due to fluid in the lungs). However, if you only started to cough after starting the lisinopril, I would suspect it could be the drug. In which case, I would switch you to a "cousin" drug of lisinopril (one of many that fall under the class of drugs called ARBs---for angiotensin receptor blockers).
tony thanks for your response the benazepril is to treat the hypertension and to reduce protein loss through the kidneys the amlodipine also for hypertension and control her plood pressure which was elevated the plavix is to reduce the chance of blood clots i also give her fish oil and give her chopped green cabbage with meals , i have started to wake up and give her a meal at 2;00 am and seems to have stopped the vomiting of bile . when karly was diagnosed in oct of 2015 she weighed 9.
However, this could also be due to some medications such as the combination of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide that is used to treat high blood pressure. Lisinopril is in a group of drugs called angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) while Hydrochlorothiazide is in a class of diuretics. Lisinopril is not a medication known to result in withdrawal effects when the dose is reduced or the drug is stopped. I am 75. I take 75 mg of atenolol and 40 mg of benazepril hcl every day. I had an echo stress test (speed increases every two minutes) and at 6 minutes my blood pressure starting falling so the test was stopped and the doctor said sometimes with blood pressure medicine that happens. He said my heart was fine. I had a by-pass 12 years ago. So do I have to worry?
I take 10mg of lexapro per day, plus 25mg of Hydrocklorothiazide, 50mg of Atenolol and 20mg of Lisinopril. When I started to take the Lisinopril, I would wake up in the middle of the night with my heart racing and feeling as if I had a panic attach. I sucked it up and got used to the med over time and it stopped happening. My blood pressure is still not really under control, at the doc's office I am slightly up 135/89 etc.
found out I am pregnant and am taking Lisinopril 10mg. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I've been on 10 mg. lisinopril for a few months. My blood pressure was about 144/88 in docs office when I started. Now it ranges from 130s/75 to 90s/60s. Usually it's about 115/73. I get dizzy sometimes - like in morning yoga when I stand up. When do you recommend reducing dosage - or maybe reducing the day before yoga?

Maybe trying a diuretic (hydrochlorthiazid) and lowering the dose of Lisinopril? Please tell what do you think of the doses to start trying, how often and when during the day? (P.S. if you think of another drug/combination may be more effective trying, it would be a great help).
Is there a reason to be taking Lisinopril and Metoprolol at the same time if they are both indicated for hypertension?
On the 30 day follow up from hospitalization and another echocardiobram I was told my heart function was up to 30%. My lisinopril went from 10 to 20 mg. On my 30 day follow-up office visit from the following cardiocatherization I was told my heart was functioning at 25% even though I was feeling better than before I had the cardiac event in December. Even though I was feeling better the doctor increased my lisinopril to 40mg. I don't get it.

I was curious if anybody has read or experienced where Lisinopril can cause PVC'S. I first noticed early beats shortly after my Lisinopril dose was increeased to 20mg from 10mg, I take for mild high blood pressure. I informed my doctor about this coorelation but he dismissed it. If my research is correct, Lisinopril can take about 7 hours to begin to work in the body and reaches it's peak potency after about 12 hours.
