Avatar n tn Good Morning! I'm hoping someone here can help me a little. I was on benazapril for hbp for quite a while, developed a slight dry scratchy cough my doctor described as benazepril cough. He changed me to valsartan last week and thats where the real fun began :-( 3 days on valsartan and I was having horrible side effects of dizziness, rapid heart rate, general feeling of crappiness, even slight shortness of breath with the slightest exertion None of which I experienced with the benazepril.
Avatar f tn All drugs, not just Benazepril, cause issues for the kidneys. Why? Because most drugs are metabolized in the digestive system and waste by-products need to be cleared out of the system by the kidneys. Most of the by-products are toxic, so they have to be removed from the body - and the already damaged kidneys can find this work hard to perform, so some toxins end up circulating back in the bloodstream. Benazepril, thankfully, is metabolized chiefly by the liver.
Avatar m tn she is taking benazapril and amlodipine bid and plavix once at nite her last she also gets ranitidine every 12 hours her latest bloodwork had her bun at 48 and creatine at 2.5 , we have her on a senior diet with low protien .
Avatar m tn The cardio had also given me an rx for 25 mg metroprolol 2x daily and nitrostat. (this on top of my 30mg benazepril). But my resting pulse rate is typically 47-55, so how low would the metro send it? The cardio said try it as an "experiment." He seems to be continuing to interpret my throat tightening as angina. The throat tightening is a sensation of not being able to physically get enough air across my throat.
Avatar n tn I am 75. I take 75 mg of atenolol and 40 mg of benazepril hcl every day. I had an echo stress test (speed increases every two minutes) and at 6 minutes my blood pressure starting falling so the test was stopped and the doctor said sometimes with blood pressure medicine that happens. He said my heart was fine. I had a by-pass 12 years ago. So do I have to worry?
1004097 tn?1251117610 I have both hypertension and hypothyroidism. I take Benazepril for my blood pressure and am on a combination of levothyroxin (T4 med) and cytomel (T3 med) for the hypothyroidism. I take my levo first thing in the morning (which for me is 3:30 am), then I take the cytomel about 7:00 am to help me get through the day. I take my blood pressure med at the same time I take my cytomel, but benazepril is not a beta blocker, it's an ACE inhibitor. T4 and T3 meds are NOT the same thing.
Avatar n tn I took lantus throughout treatment. However, my doctor pulled me off metformin because it sometimes messes with ALT levels, making it difficult to get an accurate picture of how liver enzymes respond to tx. I ate so little during tx, and a lot of it was ice cream. Nevertheless, for some reason - despite all the sugar in ice cream - my A1c was better during tx than it ever was before or after.
Avatar m tn The doctor still saw the need to put me on another medication, so now im taking Benazepril and Amlodipine. And at times checking my BP myself it has been down to like 127/80. Im only 24 and thats what worries me. I have a family history of High Blood Pressue big time. My Grandad and Dad both had it. My Dads was so high, at the time they couldnt even maintain it. 1347038 tn?1276540857 It has come down a lot the last year due to weight loss and exercise. My diet has improved tremendously! I used to be on Atenolol and Benazepril. I am completely drug free, and have been since Jan. 21st of this year. My body could be healing from all the prescriptions I used to be on? The heart thing comes and goes no rhyme or reason?
Avatar f tn I am a 41 year female / thin/ high blood pressure with fatigue for 17 months. All kinds of labs have been done and these are the only ones that stand out: MMA 92 Range 87-318 Homocysteine nutritional & congenital 7.8 Range 5.4-11.
Avatar m tn I have MSK and both of my kidneys are FULL of stones. I also always show protein in my urine! Both my uro and GP have not been really concerned, but a friend a patient pharmacist, told me I need to be on the meds you mentioned to prevent kidney damage. Both of my doctors however said the only way to really tell if the protein levels are significant is do to a 24 hour urine. So am to do one AFTER my son's wedding when I can afford it. Did your doctor have you do one?
Avatar f tn I was disqualified from a job process due to this medical condition called left ventricular hypertrophy. Avatar n tn ) Please do let me know all the medication and supplements that she is on and her general care, so that I can tell you if anything further can be done to help. However, Dorothy, if she is throwing up continuously, and her numbers are rising, please steel yourself for having to deal withh the worst periods. As far as i have seen, this is a relentless disease and finally we have to let go.Even if you do not decide to put her to sleep yourself, you must prepare to see her go.
Avatar n tn Lately the cough at night causes him to feel like he is gagging or choking but when he sits up to cough he only gags and coughs and there is no sputum. Last night he said this happened six times. He is not nauseated but sometimes his stomach hurts.
20922415 tn?1661860103 If pregnancy occurs, progesterone is produced in the placenta, and levels remain elevated throughout the pregnancy. The combination of high estrogen and progesterone levels suppresses further ovulation during pregnancy. Progesterone also encourages the growth of milk-producing glands in the breast during pregnancy. High progesterone levels are believed to be partly responsible for symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), such as breast tenderness, feeling bloated, and mood swings.
Avatar m tn I have had 2 heart attacks (age 46 and 48) from clots in a tiny artery, branch of a branch of LAD and ever since have issues breathing when it's humid outside. I am working for 1 month in a carpenter shop with no A/C, only fans and it has been as high as 99. I think I've gotten heat exhaustion twice now, missed 2 days of work. This is not my career, only a 1 month learning experience and I'm considering going to half days, early mornings only.
Avatar f tn She switched her from Enalapril to Benazepril, and continued the Lasix. Have been back a couple of times, and I keep asking if there's anything that can help her breathe better. She does not cough yet, but breathing is relatively rapid, and sometimes with some effort. Not panting, or open mouthed, just rapid and heavier than a normal dog. I know that the enlarged heart will affect her breathing, but I just wonder if there isn't some other med that might help ease that.
88793 tn?1290227177 Your doctor should be advising you to allow blood and urine tests and possibly chest and abdominal xrays too, if the answers are not clear from the blood and urine tests alone. Waste no time, just get that done. If the doctor you use now is saying the cat is "just getting old" and offering no diagnostic options other than "watch till death", get another doctor. In a city the size of Melbourne, I think you will easily find a second opinion.
Avatar f tn My other meds include Toprol XL, benazepril, Furosimide, aspirin 325mg, Fenofibrate, and Simvastatin. I also take a multivit. and Omega3/6 daily. My problem is that although I have lost 30 lbs, brought my chol. down to low normal range, walk everyday, worked hard to get glucose under control, I have now started to see the old angina symptoms coming back! Mostly when I lay down at night or do anything (walking, stairs, etc) right after a meal. Some shortness of breath also.
Avatar f tn hey everyone, Well I'm on Armour thyroid 30mg I feel really pretty good, lot more energy and clear headed and my joints don't hurt like they use to, But I retain lots of water, I can loose 3 pounds in one morning or gain 4 pounds, I can tell when I gain water weight my feet feel fat and my legs feel heavy, I've been trying to do alot of walking and drinking dandelion tea which helps, but can't understand why I'm retaining water. Avatar f tn Went back to the vet on Thursday for x-rays and blood analysis and that is where they told me her that based on her blood levels, she was in kidney failure and they recommended I take her immediately to the close vet hospital. She has been hospitalized for the last 48 hours and getting fluids and her BUN levels came down from 130 to 75 to 38, her Creatinine levels were 3.8 to 3.0 and then stayed at 3.0 unfortunately.
Avatar m tn 5 year old yellow lab that was recently limping, so she was taken to the vet and they did blood work and the blood work suggested Kidney Failure. She has struggled to eat, been very tired and isn't herself at all. Its been 4 days since she came home from the ER and she's slowly gotten worse.
Avatar f tn My 69 year old husband had surgery for a mitral valve repair and aortic valve replaced with an On-X valve on July 29, 2009. His ejection rate is 25% and the cardiologist wants him seen by as specialist to consider a biventricular pacemaker with defibrillator. He had indicated that he has left ventricular cardiomyopathy that might be a separate condition and not secondary to the valve issues. He also has left bundle branch block.
