dicloxacill which I have to eat lots of yogurt I was told or I would get a yeast infection. AND, i'm back on bactroban, but I have a special kind that I put INSIDE my nose. I'm almost done with my 10-day supply of meds and it still looks the same. My health insurance plan expires at the end of this month and i'm completely lost. I have no idea what it is and my fiance and I want to get married THIS NOVEMBER!! But there is no way with my face like this.
I was diagnosed with a fungal ear infection (tropical ear) today - I have had repeatedly dealt with 'swimmers ear' over the past 3 years, sometimes as often as 3 times per year. I have had severe pain in the affected ear, as well as pain in the temple on the affected side. Starting 2 days ago, the lymph node behind that ear (which has been swollen since Nov. 07) became extremely painful. It's like having cramps in the side of your neck at times. My ENT prescribed ZOTO-HC OTIC SOL.
) and Bactroban (for the infection). The infection went away about three weeks ago and the area looked like it was getting better (the red mark was fading, though it looks like there might be a scar there - or a red blemish under the skin). I went to my doctor this past Tuesday for a follow-up. He felt a little bit of a cyst there and gave me another shot of cortisone.
Came down with a big sore bump inside my left nostril. Entire left side of nose became red and swollen. Went to Prime Care and test showed "light staph infection". Have been taking double-strength Bactrim along with Valtrex in case it could be the start of shingles. It has been 4 days on meds with no improvement, but no rash either. Extremely painful. Wake up every 2 hours and need Vicodin. Seems to radiate into cheek. Scalp itches now.
What you are experiencing is a yeast infection. You need to take a probiotic.
Hi, Diaper rash is a term that covers a broad variety of skin conditions that occur on the same area of the body. Friction of skin against itself can cause a rash in the baby's skin folds, called intertrigo. This rash appears as reddened areas that may ooze and is often uncomfortable when the diaper is wet. Intertrigo can also be found on other areas of the body where there are deep skin folds that tend to trap moisture.Keep area well aerated and dry and apply zinc-oxide based cream.
Other things that I have tried, thinking it was possibly a yeast type of infection was Nystatin- I used it for a short time, and did not seem to help. I have also tried Bactroban, in thought that it was a bacterial infection. It did not help too much either. I am wondering, could it just be a simple " heat rash", from constnt sweating? An allergic reaction from the powder I was using ( Caldescene, I believe has zinc oxide in it). Any type of advice, would be helpfull.
On the other hand some elements of your description (the red bumps, the flaking, the itching) are highly suggestive of a fungal (yeast infection). It does not sound like the Bactroban is helping much, is it? My advice would be to have a trained clinician take a look at it. If this is yeast it is easily treated with topical creams. 1. Does this sounds like VD, especially HSV or HPV? see above. This does not sound like HPV, HSV or other STI. 2.
This appears to be a bacterial upper respiratory tract infection and folliculitis is a bacterial infection. It is possible that these may be associated. As for the skin condition to be secondary to the medications, this should be an allergic skin reaction and not folliculitis. Continue with your medication and observe if this continues. An allergic skin reaction usually manifests with itchiness and large patches of skin papules. I know you are worried about this.
A doctor told me to use yeast infection medicines (I tried two kinds one week each with some break between the two), which may have reduced the symptom but did not get rid of it completely. Since it was annoying, I visited the doctor again and he gave me Bactroban. Bactroban seemed to work and I did use for a week three times a day. I had no symptom at the end of the week.
I saw your response to the member 'Tiger600' who seemed to have similar symptoms and you said it may be a yeast infection. Is it possible that may be what I have aswell? I also feel like because I have had this for 14+ days now, it couldn't be a allergic reaction could it? Because i've had it for so long I would think a allergic reaction would have gone away by now. I'm just really nervous about this.
If so, then it could be a yeast infection which is quite common in the region. If these lumps are on the area where the hair is found, then it could be a case of folliculitis. Folliculitis is the inflammation of one or more hair follicles. The condition is common in the neck, axilla, or groin area. Folliculitis starts when hair follicles are damaged. This happens with shaving in the area or wearing tight clothes.
Get it checked from a doctor as the skin may need to be removed and he may need a prescription of topical antibiotics like Neosporin or Bactroban to avoid any infection. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Hi Grace/Terry, I had a bad yeast infection back in November 2012. I got some sores also on my penis gland. My doctor thought that I am having HSV 1/2. He ordered a blood test (igg). Both came back negative for HSV 1 and 2. Then he gave me fluconazole for the yeast infection and it healed me. Then last year November (2013), I had similar symptoms on my penis gland and under the foreskin.

I am allergic to PCN, Emycin, Bactrim and Motrin. I am already on Diflucan because I have a yeast infection, and truly don't want to take an antibiotic. I had been putting Bactroban on it for the last 2 weeks, plus not itching it, and it is almost healed. MD won't call back until next week. Can I continue with the bactroban, or do I have to go on an antibiotic, and if I don't is it dangerous? Could the culture just have been a contamination from the area? It's pretty close to the rectal area.
I've tried home remedies, like soaking, applying ointments, and have tried two oral-antibiotics (cephalexin and Diclococlyne) and they didn't do anything, but give me a yeast infection. I keep hearing how Folliculitis goes away on its own, but mine hasn't went away and I've never shaved myself there again since that time. I'm begging for a diagnosis and an effective treatment if somone out there has a clue as to what I can do to help what seems like a curable yet stubborn problem.
In your case you can have it orally and vaginally. A yeast infection can not cause these type of sym in a man or any one else for that matter. So it is not your fault!! But herpes can show and clear up within a week or a few days and you or your husband may not have another out break for wks, months or years even. But if you havent been tested i feel you should do so it is always better to know.
It got better but didn't go away completely so I went back. He said then it could be a yeast infection so he told me to use an over the counter anti fungus cream which litterally burned my underarms so badly I couldn't lower my arm for a couple of days. I then just washed with an anti bacterial soap daily and it nearly cleared up but still not completely.
I had a swollen foreskin and also tight when erected. I used bactroban oinment and subsequently the infection was reduce ie the rediness of penis is reduced and have become normal, but still after getting the erection the foreskin dose not retract and the shape of penis is like an hour glass shape when erect and normal while flaccid. Can any one help in such case? I would like to avoid circumcision.

It got particularly bad on one weekend around the same time that I also got a vaginal yeast infection. Could that be connected and is perioral dermatitis a fungal infection? I went back to the dermatolgist last week and explained the situation to her. At the same time, I also had a few ingrown hairs on my bikini line from waxing which were causing some itching. The dermatologist said that I have folliculitis and then upon further examination said that she also saw some in my nose.
I dont know if I am having this as a result of an allergic reaction, or is it a fungus or a staph infection or some kind of bacterial infection or yeast infection or something else? This is 15 years later and now its back, I have chapped skin under my nose and all around my mouth and lips and also under my eye, it almost looks like I have a black eye because of the redness and swelling. It is now on my hands and fingers. My symptoms are, itchiness, chapping, red and inflamed, cracked.
The dermatologist did a culture on me which came back positive for both a staph infection and a massive yeast infection. So then I was treated with Bactroban for a week and oral antibiotics, and then did three weeks of Loprox. About a week ago, I finished treatment and to me surprise my lips looked fabulous. Last Sunday I got three bubbly things (one on my upper and two on my inner lower lip) which I guess I will call blisters though they never seeped or anything.
is tehre a chance that i can get fungal infection now because of the antibiotic? a day after bactroban i put tioconazole until now and there are no rashes now but occasionally its itchy. and there's a small bump near the urine passage like .5 cm away from it. my doctor checked for lesions during the consultation and it was tehre already even before that. shall i be worried since it is still not gone?
I have just 2 questions based off of your comments: 1. Could this be a Yeast Infection, what are the signs of a Yeast Infection? Can a woman have a yeast infection & just have a foul smell? 2. Some of the medicines you prescribed I cannot get unless its prescription. The Bactroban I want but cannot get. I am using clotrimazole & that is not bad but would like to know what I can get that is a good "over the counter" product(s)? Thank you!! 1.
I approached to a doctor he prescribe me some antibiodic caps and Bactroban (Cream) , Thank God, Now i cured. but still my new skin is very thin and sensitive. Please advice me which soap i have to used and what precaution to be taken after intercourse (should be rinse with any antibacterial liquid). Also, please suggests me any cream to thicken my skin its very thin i am afraid during intercouse it may rub and damage. I'd appreciate you....please advice me.
I had what looked like a yeast infection (itching, tenderness, clear discharge), but my swabs came back negative for that and bacterial vaginosis. MickeyVicky kindly informed me that cysts (I have a small one that will hopefully resolve soon) cause hormonal changes that can cause yeast-like infections such as this.
