616582 tn?1225068601 My doctor put me on Bactrim for a sinus infection. I have had a slight reaction to it in the past. A couple hours after taking it I started getting a really bad itch on my penis. The skin under the helmet also swelled way up and it hurts a bit. I've taken Bactrim about 5 days now and the skin directly under the lip of the helmet has been peeling and is really sore. My doc says I'm not alleric to Bactrim and this is a coincidence but I'm not sure.
Avatar f tn The doctor did say I have angular cheilitis on my lips, he gave me an ointment, called Bactroban and an oral antibiotic but he said not to fill the antibiotic unless I really needed it, if the corners of my mouth became red and have pus coming out. So right now I am using the Bactroban ointment hoping that it is helping my lips. They still aren't healed yet, but hopefully it will heal. I did ask him what I can do so that I don't get this again, he just said to drink plenty of water.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed bactroban. The physician I saw said it was a mild skin infection. I used the ointment and on Tuesday, May 5, I woke up with a killer headache and a sore tongue. I continued to use the bactroban until Wednesday, May 6. My tongue was white so, I went back to urgent care. The physician said that I was probably having an allergic reaction to the bactroban and prescribed me an oral antibiotic. I used the new medicine with no issues.
Avatar m tn I presented with only one sore at my cheekbone and was given clindamycin orally for 14 days and Bactroban ointment for topical use. The sore was believed to be an early indication of MRSA. I quickly developed cellulitis and swelling near, but not touching, the apparent abscess, as well as blisters in my nose. I used the mupiricin.(Bactroban) to keep the nasal blisters moist. Now diagnosed with post-herpetic neuralgia, but I still have blisters in my nose treating with Bactroban.
Avatar f tn My 3 year old son has had a small cut under his earlobe where it connects with his face. I recently took him into the Dr and they prescribed Bactroban and said to put Eucerin lotion on it inbetween Bactroban treatments for 10 days. It does not seem to be healing up. I am not sure if it is because he bothers it and is keeping it from healing. Is there anything else I can be doing to help this cut heal and close?
Avatar f tn The red bumps are looking like they might be getting infected. I have a tube of 2% Bactroban (or Mupirocin is what it actually says) can I use this on that area to prevent further infection? How can I avoid this when shaving in the future?
Avatar f tn i took him in to the emergency room and the Dr. prescrived bactroban in cream and told me to wash it regularly and said that by the next day it should be better. but its been 2 days since then and i been following the orders but i do not see it getting better, on the contrare it seems to be getting worse.. and how long does it take until it goes back to normal? he's not complaining of pain only when i apply the ointment.
Avatar n tn Also you have advised to use Mupirocin (Bactroban®). I am unsure about where to apply the Ointment. In the affected area or the Nostrils (I think you mean the affected area) Please clarify this. Also you have said to repeat that every 6 months, please tell me how long should I continue this. You have told here to apply mupirocin (Bactroban®) twice daily for a week.
Avatar n tn If the repair is going naturally and perfectly your nail will get back, keep it open and apply antibiotic ointment like neosporin or bactroban (mupirocin). If there are any signs of infection then follow up with a physician. Take care!

5123318 tn?1417395836 For 18 years, I've had impetigo chronically. I can rarely make it 10 days without an outbreak. It is so bad in my eyelids that I can no longer read, look at a cell phone, watch tv, etc. If I look at a cell phone to type 5 text messages in one day, I will have outbreaks. I've taken dozens of antibiotics. The only things that have helped have been cutting out citrus fruit. But I starve myself out of fear that food may be causing this.
Avatar m tn I went to an urgent care facility and had it looked at, and was prescribed doxycycline and bactroban ointment. I've been taking both, as well as soaking it in Epsom Salt and warm water, but it has gotten worse. It very painful. I've attached a picture of what it looks like, I'm going to see if I can attach one of what it looked like yesterday. Should I go to the ER to have this looked at?
Avatar f tn I was recently diagnosed with darier's disease and was given a ointment to use on the rash, the ointment is working however my question is this. Is there any cure to this disease or any way to make the rash permanently disappear/dormant?
Avatar n tn A topical antibiotic cream, mupirocin (Bactroban®), has been effective at reducing bacterial colonization in the nostrils. It is applied twice daily for a week and is repeated every 6 months. After the lesions have healed you could try waxing. Let us know if you need any other information and consult a skin specialist if the lesion is persistent. Regards.
Avatar m tn ENT said I had some colonies in nose soUsed Bacrtoban for 3 days and slight pain in my nose went away per ENT. I stopped the bactroban after 3 days because I was not sleeping but I was also using Nasocort and maybe that was the culprit. Cold gone sinus not infected but having some pain that feels like a tooth ache and slight tickle or sting in nostrils when breathing. Left septum is a little enlarged.
Avatar n tn Four days later I went to the Doctor and she gave me an ointment called Bactroban and an antibiotic called Enhancin and I bathe it in warm salt water. Now, its hardly visible but the doctor is still unsure of what it was. This discussion is related to IgG vs IgM Question.

Avatar f tn Google something like 'nosebleeds and congestive heart failure.' You bet there is a connection! Nosebleeds can be one of the early signs of CHF, so basically, if you have congestive heart failure, you are at risk for nosebleeds. So, you have treat the CHF, which is difficult and often involves drugs or therapies that are likely to make the nosebleeds worse, things like aspirin, warfarin (anti-clot meds). If liver function is bad, nosebleeds are a consequence, too.

196674 tn?1306502156 I am not sure if this was from a bug bite, a rash, or a skin infection. About 5 days ago two spots on my right leg started itching a lot, and from the picture links below you can see they have gotten real big. I thought it might be a bite from some type of bug at first, but now I just don't know because of the size they have grown to.
Avatar n tn he was tested for STDs before he entered so he is clear from that. i have Bactroban cream i was thinking of sending him, is that a good idea?
Avatar n tn Moisturizers should be reapplied liberally during the day. You can also use a topical cortisone (steroid) cream or ointment like dermacort(hydrocortisone). Adding a humidifier to the central heating system of your home or using a humidifier also helps. If still the symptoms persist then possibility of eczema or atopic dermatitis, psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis need to be ruled out. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn The condition healed a bit, but there was still some redness on the tip.So I went back to my GP who prescribed me Kenacomb ointment. I used it for 3-4 days and the irritation aggravated and i could see inflamation in new areas on the penis head. Then I went to my GP and he changed the cream to Bactroban. I used it for 3 days and over these 3 days, my skin became red and there was irritation all over the Penis head.
Avatar f tn Hello Sunday morning I noticed a four bumps on the frenulum of my penis. Now I have been putting hibiclens on these bumps and bactroban just in case there's an infection. They do not hurt or itch. It does not hurt when i urinate. I stretch out the frenulum skin to take a better look at these bumps. They kind of look pink when I don't stretch the skin but when I do stretch it out they turn white. I go over them with my nail and they feel hard like as if I can pop them.
Avatar n tn Hello, Maintain a good hygiene and keep the wound site as dry as possible. Also apply Bactroban or Neosporin antibiotic ointment and take some pain killers of there is any pain. But if there is any redness, severe pain, fever or drainage of any serous or watery discharge or any pus from the wound then infection should be suspected. It can be confirmed after culture sensitivity of the wound swabs/blood/discharge from the wound. Specific antibiotics are then prescribed. I hope it helps.
