Common Questions and Answers about Bactroban nasal cream

bactroban

Avatar m tn I used the mupiricin.(Bactroban) to keep the nasal blisters moist. Now diagnosed with post-herpetic neuralgia, but I still have blisters in my nose treating with Bactroban. The original sore that was on my cheek never dried out, instead shrinking from the Bactroban. I am still suffering these and other new symptoms and I wonder if the original sore might be keeping the virus active since it never naturally resolved. Someone PLEASE help me. Thank you.

Avatar f tn Mupirocin is the same as Bactroban. It is a nasal compound that my ENT has mixed for sinus infections. The eye is sore today. I have little vision in the eye. However, its pressure has risen, in the last few months, from from about 0 to fifteen. I will call my retinologist. Thank you.
Avatar f tn I remember placing Bactroban on it which seemed to speed up the healing process, could this cold sore cream help a bacterial infection or could bactroban help a cold sore? Please help P.s the blisters come up small and then pop and crust over yellow like a weeping cut, it has only had one big blister before. I placed betadine on it and that seemed to help but so did bactroban, it also tingles before it comes up and gets itchy but NEVER hurts!
Avatar f tn I missed my MD appt today because I think I have the flu. I have felt very weak, nauseated for about 10 days. I also have a headache and severe nasal allergies. I have had the scalp sores/bumps/scaliness for a bout 2 weekks. I also have a swollen lymph node. Any connection between the three? Could the cause of the scalp thing be allergy?
Avatar n tn Be extremely careful about personal hygiene. Application of antiseptic washes may help prevent recurrences. A topical antibiotic cream, mupirocin (Bactroban®), has been effective at reducing bacterial colonization in the nostrils. It is applied twice daily for a week and is repeated every 6 months. Let us know if you need any other information and consult a skin specialist if the lesion is persistent. Regards.

Avatar n tn I have switched body soaps, wash my armpits two to three times a day, gone to a medicated baby powder instead of deodorant, tried 1% hydrocortisone cream instead of medicated powder and nothing works. My doctor said it looked fungal and recommended Lotrimin, an antifungal cream. I am three weeks on this and the rash is getting worse...not better. I told him one or two of your readers recommended Bactroban mupirocin, but he dismissed that advice for the Lotrimin.
Avatar n tn I went back to the doctor straight away and he said it was a rash caused by the Bactroban Cream and he gave me Dovate Cream to apply on the rash area. He said I should use it on my chin as well and that the infection (Cellulitis) has gone and it is just scar tissue. What I would like to know is - Is this a rash from Bactroban Cream as it is not continuos spreading down my chin but a healthy skin layer and then the rash?

Avatar n tn I used it for 3-4 days and the irritation aggravated and i could see inflamation in new areas on the penis head. Then I went to my GP and he changed the cream to Bactroban. I used it for 3 days and over these 3 days, my skin became red and there was irritation all over the Penis head. The GP asked me to stop both the medicines and he is of opinion that, I may have a reaction of bactroban and has developed into a fungal infection.

If the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics and steroids may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.
