bactroban

Avatar f tn The red bumps are looking like they might be getting infected. I have a tube of 2% Bactroban (or Mupirocin is what it actually says) can I use this on that area to prevent further infection? How can I avoid this when shaving in the future?
616582 tn?1225068601 The ointment is called Bactroban (Mupirocin). So if you took the bactrim pill for your sinus infection you usually break out all over or at least on the chest. Perhaps you are allergic to the bactroban (mupirocin) ointmnet. Since you applied it locally to the penis area. Personally, I am allergic to the Bactroban (mupirocin) but not the bactrim. Let me know if you have any more quesitons.

It is applied twice daily for a week and is repeated every 6 months. Let us know if you need any other information and consult a skin specialist if the lesion is persistent. Regards.

Avatar f tn Mupirocin is the same as Bactroban. It is a nasal compound that my ENT has mixed for sinus infections. The eye is sore today. I have little vision in the eye. However, its pressure has risen, in the last few months, from from about 0 to fifteen. I will call my retinologist. Thank you.
Avatar m tn The results of the cultures came back last week and I apparently had a minor staph infection in my nose, so she prescribed Bactroban Nasal. I had to squeeze half of a small tube of the ointment into each nostril twice a day for 5 days. I finished the prescription a few days ago but my lips look the same! WHAT IS IT? And why won't it go away?! I am embarrassed and just cannot take it anymore. Please help.
5123318 tn?1417395836 You can try measures to reduce colonisation of the nose and spread (for example, by using 2% mupirocin cream or ointment applied inside the nostril 3 times per day for 5 days each month). Avatar n tn Campho Phenique, hot soaks, drinking turmeric, icthammol ointment, mupirocin, trying to poke and drain it...even potato as one friend suggested! It will not go away or come to a head. It is firm and does not hurt, but it is certainly unsightly. I've just put myself on sulfameth and I'm hoping that does something, but I have a feeling it won't get rid of the material in there. Will it?

Avatar f tn I finally went to a walk in doctor and was diagnosed with folliculitis.. I was prescribed an antibiotic twice daily for ten days and apply bactroban cream 2-3 times daily. I only have about 6 antibiotic pills left (3 days worth) and not much cream left either. However, the only relief I have had is the itching. I do not really have itching anymore and when I do it is minor and the cream really helps.

Avatar m tn Hello, I am 16 years of age and sexually active. My girlfriend and I have been together for 3 months, best friends for a year before this. We were both virgins up untill we took each other's virginity 4 months ago. We have had unprotected sex since. About 2 months ago I noticed a pimple like formation in my pubic area. Looked and felt like a pimple so I popped it..

Avatar f tn Well she had a surgery about 6 months ago and we received mupirocin ointment for it. I was curious to find out if the mupirocin ointment would have any affect on her sores? I know it's to fight infection and bacterial growth but I was hoping it would alleviate her pain and sooth her raw hot spot. Thanks in advance!
Avatar f tn The doctor did say I have angular cheilitis on my lips, he gave me an ointment, called Bactroban and an oral antibiotic but he said not to fill the antibiotic unless I really needed it, if the corners of my mouth became red and have pus coming out. So right now I am using the Bactroban ointment hoping that it is helping my lips. They still aren't healed yet, but hopefully it will heal. I did ask him what I can do so that I don't get this again, he just said to drink plenty of water.
