ENT said I had some colonies in nose soUsed Bacrtoban for 3 days and slight pain in my nose went away per ENT. I stopped the bactroban after 3 days because I was not sleeping but I was also using Nasocort and maybe that was the culprit.
Cold gone sinus not infected but having some pain that feels like a tooth ache and slight tickle or sting in nostrils when breathing. Left septum is a little enlarged.
Now diagnosed with post-herpetic neuralgia, but I still have blisters in my nose treating with Bactroban. The original sore that was on my cheek never dried out, instead shrinking from the Bactroban. I am still suffering these and other new symptoms and I wonder if the original sore might be keeping the virus active since it never naturally resolved. Someone PLEASE help me. Thank you.
I was diagnosed with a staph infection in and outside my nose. My nose was so red I could have been Rudolph'sister!! Anyways it would go away and come back again over and over every time getting worse and worse. I would get soars in my nose and on my top and bottom lip. It itches and burns and stings all at the same time. I now believe that my staph infection turned into perioral dermatitis. Is this possible?
( Do you know anything that will help me rid myself of this mrsa mess!!! I will be going in to the Dr. tomm to see about bactroban for my nose. I use dial regularly & keep a clean & disinfected home! ***** but I'm not gonna let it ruin my life. I have 3 beautiful sons & a loving Husband. All gifts from God! I have a staph infection the starts on the corners of my mouth. I went to see a Dermatologist and we took a culture. He informed that is was Staph. I don't remember which version. I was given Bactroban and some oral, I think Moxcecilin (sp?) as I pehnotically spell it.
It cleared up. A few days later it came back. I took the oral and the bactroban did nothing. It spread to my ear, genitals, and my nose. I got another prescrption for the oral. It cleared up.
a year ago I got a cold sore on my lip well it wasn't your usual cold sore it was a big ***** sore from my lip to my nose and I started feeling like I was going to black out from there things quickly went down heal I was taken to emergency room on numerous occasions feeling like I was going to black out my ears started ring with the sound white noise on a TV makes my brain felt fuzzy I felt like i was going to vomit all the time my legs n feet went numb yet vitals were always completely norm
I had a condition like this and it had been affecting my nose for almost 2 years. The skin around my nose was flaky and dry and in the colder months, the skin around my most turned red. I went to my doctor so he could check things out and he took a sample of the skin around my nose to send it away for testing. When the results got back, I returned to my doctor to find out that i had a staff infection around my nose.
I got these ances on October 2012, since I put Bio oil on my face after shaving, in order to remove a tiny acne scar, although my skin on the face got 1 or 2 little wounds after shaving. At the beginning, I felt my skin was burning after I put Bio oil on my face. 1 day later, ances occurred and my skin itched. I went to see a doctor. He said my skin is very healthy, I was afraid that I was allergic. The symptom(acne) is still there.
A topical antibiotic cream, mupirocin (Bactroban®), has been effective at reducing bacterial colonization in the nostrils. It is applied twice daily for a week and is repeated every 6 months.

I have always had a clear complexion but 2 times in my life I have had issues with the skin between my nose and mouth. I went to a dermatologist once and he perscribed this ointment and it went away. I was working in the service industry then, but not now. I dont know if I am having this as a result of an allergic reaction, or is it a fungus or a staph infection or some kind of bacterial infection or yeast infection or something else?
I decided to make a dermatologist appointment, and she prescribed Nystatin and Mupirocin for the time being, and took two cultures, one of the corners of my mouth and one in my nose to check for bacteria. I had to mix the two prescriptions together 2-3 times a day for 5 days. The condition definitely got better, but was still somewhat visible. The results of the cultures came back last week and I apparently had a minor staph infection in my nose, so she prescribed Bactroban Nasal.
Also, I noticed that my entire body felt like it was constantly trembling and that my pulse was constantly rapid. I went back to the doctor and he took a culture and gave me bactroban to put on the burn until the results come back. Since then, the area around the burn seems very faintly pink (when I had the cellulitis it was red) and still warm and tender to the touch, and also that I am experiencing alot of numbness and tingling and a burning sensation on my left leg, both arms, and my face.
The anti-biotic helps for the infection but it doesnt seem to kill the bacteria, ive had this bacteria for almost two years now and maybe the nose swipe came back negative cause i was using nose bactroban at that moment in time? I do have Epidermolysis Bullosa which is a inherited connective tissue disease causing blisters in the skin and mucosal membranes so my skin comes of easier than other people , not sure if it could be a factor.
I thought I had a pimple on my cheek, then the next day it looked more like a mozzie bite, the following day I thought a boil so I started putting bactroban on. It had like a hard core, was raised with what looked like a bit of puss in the middle surrounded by a red ring then the redness and swelling (like a great big puffy, red blister but not a blister) spread out towards my nose.
I within the last few days have noticed dozens of little red dots appear on my shoulders, upper arms and back, chest area in the middle. I also in the past have had bumps show up and then open and blue or puss. They seem like they are hollow, like an open hole until they scab over and then disappear. Is this just an infection or is there a underlying cause. Thank you for your time.
The red bumps are looking like they might be getting infected. I have a tube of 2% Bactroban (or Mupirocin is what it actually says) can I use this on that area to prevent further infection? How can I avoid this when shaving in the future?
I have had this thing on my face for about a year now that comes up in small blisters and then crusts over and peels off. It is located on my cheek and I recently had a test for cold sores and it came back negative, but I put cold sore cream by chemists own (aciclovir 5%) on it and that seems to work. What is it?? I remember placing Bactroban on it which seemed to speed up the healing process, could this cold sore cream help a bacterial infection or could bactroban help a cold sore?
