A topical antibiotic cream, mupirocin (Bactroban®), has been effective at reducing bacterial colonization in the nostrils. It is applied twice daily for a week and is repeated every 6 months. If there any of the mentioned medical causes then treating those will reduce the occurence of the condition. http://www.dermatologychannel.net/follicle/folliculitis.shtml Some stubborn cases of folliculitis have been responsive to laser-assisted hair removal.
We tend to suspect any warts on the vaginal area as genital warts Dermatologist - They don't look like typical genital warts. You will have to come in to be sure. Other doctor- Yes they look like warts. I talked to the GP via email and explained that of course the diagnosis is the main thing. I would take cryotherapy etc everyday if it meant I only had molluscum. The emotional strain of genital warts totally outweighs the physical side effects.

Hello, As mentioned in your previous post, the chances of folliculitis or cysts are more. Genital warts do not ooze. Apply Neopsorin or Bactroban and some warm compresses. Also apply mild soaps like Dove and wear cotton undergarments. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Thank God you didn't use Aldara, it could cause you problems and wouldn't have helped at all as these are normal bumps and not warts and warts are not painful". The thing is, they actually hurt and I cant just ignore them and think they are normal. Also I didn't have these bumps before. My questions are can warts be painful to touch, and if these bumps are not warts then what they may be? Please help me!! Thank you in advance!!!!!
He suggested a rather long period of continued use of the Bactroban (2 months??) and when I looked Bactroban up most indications are that it be taken for a week or so. To his credit I do remember quite awhile ago (predating the arrival of these things) having an unusual scab like crusty presence in one of my nostrils that lasted for a while and then disappeared. How's this all sound to you and do you have any thoughts or suggestions??
Hello, For such wounds, you can apply topical antibiotics like Neosporin or Bactroban. You can take anti-inflammatory pain killers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen and oral antibiotics after consulting your surgeon. I hope it helps. If you think it could be infected apply fucidin or bactroban after that. plantar warts are HPV types 1,2,6 whereas genital warts are type 16,18,31,32. This does not sound like it.
it doesnt seem to go away and becomes dry and flaky occaisionally, i have also been to see the sexual health clinic many times and have been told it is genital warts. i have had a few treatments for this but nothing seems to work dont think it is warts. i am really depressed about this and need help quick. any ideas?
I don't really understand why they are doing paps for warts, because low risk HPV's which cause warts are never usually detected in a pap... Paps test for high risk HPV which do not cause wart symptoms, but cell changes instead and that can lead to cervical cancer. If the wart treatment you are using is treating these bumps, my guess is they are warts. Warts are diagnosed via visual analysis. Maybe it's to do with different countries, but I just find the whole pap thing very odd!
Hi, on september 10, (today is september 26) I went to the dermatologist about a couple of spots that I have had on my penis for around a year. He told me they were genital warts, froze them, and prescribed me Veregen. I have been applying it like it says ever since. It seems like sice I started, I have been getting more and more bumbs. Almost like this cream has activated dormant ones. Is that possible? Every time I look down there, I find a new one.
I've been to see a doctor and he doesn't seem to think its genital warts. He gave me some cream to apply three times a day. It's only been a couple of days and they are not going away. I put vinegar on the small bumps hearing that acetic acid will turn them white if they are warts. I don't know if its my imagination or not but they did seem to go a bit white. Does this mean they could be warts?

Hello, Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be contact dermatitis, rash due to friction rub, folliculitis, cysts ,molluscum contagiosum(multiple, small, dome-shaped papules, often with a central depression or plug) or genital warts(caused by HPV infection). Apply warm compresses, Neosporin ointment and calamine lotion and avoid messing with it. You can take anti-inflammatory pain killers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen.
I have been with the same girlfriend for six months so I do not think it is an STD but I get fairly anxious when I see any unusual skin marks in this body region. Any advice? I have a cream called Bactroban from last year but don't know if this would be any help. Thanks for this forum...very helpful.
Now I have been putting hibiclens on these bumps and bactroban just in case there's an infection. They do not hurt or itch. It does not hurt when i urinate. I stretch out the frenulum skin to take a better look at these bumps. They kind of look pink when I don't stretch the skin but when I do stretch it out they turn white. I go over them with my nail and they feel hard like as if I can pop them. I haven't squeezed them and not intend to do so.
Hello, Thanks for posting your query. I can understand your concern for these small bumps because they have appeared after sexual intercourse. But two points which are slight reassuring are that firstly these bumps have appeared 15 days after intercourse and not immediately after sex which lessens the possibility of STD.
I have these very small red bumps around my vestibule. They are just a few of them and they aren't symmetrically distributed. I wouldn't even notice them if they weren't so painful to touch, which makes sex impossible. I have been to several doctors and their opinions are controversial, the one says "Yes, they are warts.

They typically develop in men aged 20 to 40, and around 10 per cent of all men are affected. They may be mistaken for warts, are not infectious and require no treatment.' 'Fordyce spots are small (1-5mm) bright red or purple papules that can appear on the glans, shaft or scrotum and usually affect younger men. They may occur as a solitary lesion, but frequently appear in crops of 50 to 100.
I was given Hydrocortisoni cream for this. But the condition persisted for another two weeks and then I went to a GP again and I was recommended to use Clovate cream. I have been using this for almost two weeks now but my condition is still persisiting. Now I also get sometimes burning sensation on my scrotum and also on my belt area. I had protected sex with commercial sex workers around 9 and 12 weeks ago. Could some advise what could my condition be? Could it be Herpes or warts ?
I'm just not sure what is wrong with me I'm pretty sure that I've either been infected with either hsv-2 or a yeast infection what I know -burning and discomfort during urination persisting for almost 4 months (almost always constant) -Painful sensation on the head of penis and urethral opening, changes in severity, but persistant since 4/09 A red rash around pubic area that tends to show up for about a day and can last from a week to one day ( mostly an itchy sensation, doctor did cryo in that
Obviously this is what I thought it was first, but everything I've read about HPV describes the genital warts differently. I recently shaved my pubic area/scrotum but I have done that for years, although not as frequently in the past year (and I don't shave my thighs). I'm not sure if this is an STD, folliculitis, cysts or something else? Please Help.
After having lice removal treatment at the age of 15 my mother checked my hair and noticed a cluster of red bumps on the back of my neck. My father suggested maybe warts but since my syster worked for a dermatologist we asked her. She went on saying how it is from a "fat roll" on my neck...I don't have a fat roll on my neck. When I was 18 one of my friends said it looked like her other friends psoriasis on her neck. I do not know. I cannot see them but I have been told they are red.
Medications, such as those used to remove warts, may be helpful in removal of lesions, but can cause blistering that leads to temporary skin discoloration. Avoid direct contact with the skin lesions. Do not share towels with other people. Avoiding sex can also prevent molluscum virus and other STDs. You can also avoid STDs by having a monogamous sexual relationship with a partner known to be disease-free.
I investigated and sort of picked at one with tweesers and what looked like a hard white infection came out like what you see with an infected hair. Then it bled for a minute. But not all of them have hairs coming out. What does this sound like??? This discussion is related to Bumps in groin area.

I have always had skin issues, like keratosis pilaris in my arm, but a few months ago i started getting this pimple like warts in my face. They didnt hurt nor look so much like acne. Instead they resemble a pelary (Non umbilicated but dome) painless , flesh colored pimple, averaging 2mm and smaller... i get them all over my face, most of the time 5 or six, for two weeks when they dry and turn dark, and them new 5 o 6 again.
So I do that and about 3 days later some of them are healed but then I notice theres a new on the middle shaft of my penis and 2 on my scrotum slightly spread apart from each other. So I call my doctor and he gives me a prescription for medication which was Azithromycin and Bactroban Cream. 5 days have past since i took the medicine and been using the Cream and there almost completely gone. Does this Seem like herpes to you? or Maybe Warts? Thank you.
