ENT said I had some colonies in nose soUsed Bacrtoban for 3 days and slight pain in my nose went away per ENT. I stopped the bactroban after 3 days because I was not sleeping but I was also using Nasocort and maybe that was the culprit.
Cold gone sinus not infected but having some pain that feels like a tooth ache and slight tickle or sting in nostrils when breathing. Left septum is a little enlarged.
I presented with only one sore at my cheekbone and was given clindamycin orally for 14 days and Bactroban ointment for topical use. The sore was believed to be an early indication of MRSA. Now diagnosed with post-herpetic neuralgia, but I still have blisters in my nose treating with Bactroban.
1. Keep the nose environment moist. That means using a humidifier in dry air, as well as an ointment like vaseline. You can also use a topical antibiotic like Bactroban ointment, which doctors don't like to prescribe because you're not supposed to use antibiotics all the time. Still, Bactroban is VERY good for treating this problem. You can google this.
2. Next, you can pack the nose if the bleeding won't stop.
I was diagnosed with a staph infection in and outside my nose. My nose was so red I could have been Rudolph'sister!! She said a bump and it is on the inside toward the front inside wall of my nose. I can't feel it when I put my finger up my nose only feel it when I scrunch my nose up or wiggle it. I have to put Bactroban on the infected part to relieve the symptom, when I found acnes symptom become more severe. Then, I put Bactroban on my face. At the first 2 days, nothing happen. I got a burn on my left thigh about two weeks ago and was treated for cellulitis with 500mg keflex three times a day. When I only had four pills left, I was coming down with some sort of virus, and found it impossible to stomach the antibiotics, so I stopped taking them. I thought I had a pimple on my cheek, then the next day it looked more like a mozzie bite, the following day I thought a boil so I started putting bactroban on. It had like a hard core, was raised with what looked like a bit of puss in the middle surrounded by a red ring then the redness and swelling (like a great big puffy, red blister but not a blister) spread out towards my nose.
The red bumps are looking like they might be getting infected. I have a tube of 2% Bactroban (or Mupirocin is what it actually says) can I use this on that area to prevent further infection? How can I avoid this when shaving in the future?
I feel your pain. I have had chronic sinusitis for probably 25 years. I was a smoker and all of the doctors said what can you expect, you are a smoker. I quit 20 years ago and the chronic sinusitis never let up. I have had the classic allergy tests and gone in for shots 3x per week and that did nothing. I have gone to a dozen allergists and they have tried sprays and medicine that work for a month and assumed that I had asthma which none of the treatments work.
I recently took him into the Dr and they prescribed Bactroban and said to put Eucerin lotion on it inbetween Bactroban treatments for 10 days. It does not seem to be healing up. I am not sure if it is because he bothers it and is keeping it from healing. Is there anything else I can be doing to help this cut heal and close?
