1666982 tn?1445198395 ve had MRSA for almost ten years now. Originally I had over 50 boils, and no doctor had a clue. I saw like a million doctors and specialists, no one had a clue. I finally diagnosed myself and forced them to culture me, and it was positive.
Avatar n tn i have 7 boils on my vigina and the DR. put me on antibiotics and they went away and now they came back. I shave too. I didn't know if that is why i keep getting them. Can they spread? If I have sex will my partner get them.
Avatar f tn Hello, The symptoms are suggestive of boils. Boils may be due to poor personal hygiene or minor trauma to the skin allowing bacteria to invade, use of antiperspirant deodorants, use of strong drugs which may hamper the immunity or a diabetic patient. Warm compresses may help, antibiotics are used sometimes, good hygiene, no picking or compressing and zinc supplements may help. You can use topical antibiotics like Bactroban. If the symptoms persist then please consult a dermatologist.
Avatar n tn There was tiny boils/bumps on the head /glens of the penis under the skin. I am circumcised. There is also a slight and small redish area just under the glans/head of the penis which was itchy. There was also a purplish area that feels a little sore on the bottom edge of the head. I got married 8 months back. It has been repeated fourth time in 1 year period. One time appeared before marriage and three times after marriage, all times in the mouth as well.
Avatar f tn I get boils "down there" and use prescribed Bactroban Cream on them after applying a warm compress. They never get red (I catch them early) and usually go away one to two weeks of medicating. I currently have a boil that this med is not helping. I usually get the boils in the same places once or twice a year, but this is a new one and it's in a very inconvenient spot. My question/concern is...
Avatar m tn These sore spots could be boils or due to viral skin infection. Wear cotton undergarments and keep the area clean. Also use mild soaps like Dove. Apply Neosporin or Bactroban cream on the red bumps. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar m tn Hello, I am 16 years of age and sexually active. My girlfriend and I have been together for 3 months, best friends for a year before this. We were both virgins up untill we took each other's virginity 4 months ago. We have had unprotected sex since. About 2 months ago I noticed a pimple like formation in my pubic area. Looked and felt like a pimple so I popped it..
Avatar m tn The look like acne sized white heads. I have been working out a lot and watching my son play football for hours in the Arizona summer. Because it itched just on the pimple area I thought it was jock itch. I am worried, not sure why. I don't have insurance and frankly this is a embarassing area.
Avatar m tn It is good to look to the reason for the repeated staph infections. Staph aureus is the main cause of boils. But I believe in getting cultures if possible but if the doctor thinks it is not good to lance it due to spreading the bacteria around then you have to see what they say. Sometimes a hot compress with make it open on its own. Kids do get MRSA especially if they are in day care centers.
1177551 tn?1263970361 Hi Everyone....okay so I am going to be fifteen next month, but for the past year or so I have been getting these huge red swollen bumps, on the inner part of my upper thighs. Like I said; red and swollen, and they are very sensitive to touch. Sometimes, if enough heat is applied, I can pop them, but they never fully do the job. When they pop by themselves, it is very painful and they leave a purple-ish colored scar.
Avatar n tn Hello, They seem like boilsor blocked hair follicle. Boils are caused by infection of the hair follicle by staph aureus. Hair follicles that are blocked by greasy creams, petroleum jelly, or similar products are more vulnerable to infection. Apply warm compresses on the boil and keep the area clean.Drainage of the boil is done only when it becomes soft and forms a head.Take some over the counter pain reliever and consult a doctor for examination and antibiotics prescription.
Avatar m tn ENT said I had some colonies in nose soUsed Bacrtoban for 3 days and slight pain in my nose went away per ENT. I stopped the bactroban after 3 days because I was not sleeping but I was also using Nasocort and maybe that was the culprit. Cold gone sinus not infected but having some pain that feels like a tooth ache and slight tickle or sting in nostrils when breathing. Left septum is a little enlarged.
Avatar m tn ve been taking antibiotic creams, such as Bactroban, for the past two weeks, and it has been helping, but whenever an infected hair follicule heals up, it seems a blister appears, then when the blister goes away, another blister appears. If the antibiotics don't work, is there any other things i should consider? Like, laser removal or draining?
Avatar m tn I have had a lump under the skin on my shoulder for a few years, about the size of a quarter. I have several bumps on the back of my neck, some small and one big one. They shrink and grow larger at times. I was diagnosed with an infection 5 years ago and took medicine as well as had a cyst removed. I am wondering if its just the infection showing it self again and then leaving multiple times over the last few years.
Avatar m tn it might be clogged sweat glands my sister in law has that and she has to get them lanced out the dr told her there is a surgery to take out the sweat glands but its a little exspensive they gave her a cream to keep them under control its called bactroban its for the infection to stop comeing back so often hope this helps
Avatar m tn I have tried all antibiotics which did help especially minocycline but not for long normally for a few weeks. These days antibiotics dont help unless I havent been on them for a long time. I also tried bp which did kill the pustules at start but does not any more. I had a punch skin biopsy done which didnt give a conclusive result. Also I have had a swab test which came back as 'no result'. I also don a food allergy test which showed no allergy to anything.
Avatar m tn The anti-biotic helps for the infection but it doesnt seem to kill the bacteria, ive had this bacteria for almost two years now and maybe the nose swipe came back negative cause i was using nose bactroban at that moment in time? I do have Epidermolysis Bullosa which is a inherited connective tissue disease causing blisters in the skin and mucosal membranes so my skin comes of easier than other people , not sure if it could be a factor.
Avatar f tn I saw another doctor, who said I had folliculitis, and he prescribe Bactroban(Mupirocin) for me. He also hints me the folliculitis cannot be cured completely. I have to put Bactroban on the infected part to relieve the symptom, when I found acnes symptom become more severe. Then, I put Bactroban on my face. At the first 2 days, nothing happen. I therefore put more Bactroban on.
616582 tn?1225068601 The ointment is called Bactroban (Mupirocin). So if you took the bactrim pill for your sinus infection you usually break out all over or at least on the chest. Perhaps you are allergic to the bactroban (mupirocin) ointmnet. Since you applied it locally to the penis area. Personally, I am allergic to the Bactroban (mupirocin) but not the bactrim. Let me know if you have any more quesitons.
