Avatar n tn Apply Neosporin or Bactroban cream on the red bumps. If they decrease in size then it is folliculitis. If they remain the same then cysts should be ruled out. Avatar n tn Mild cases of folliculitis can be treated with antiseptic washes and with topical antibiotics like Bactroban which can be applied on the lesion. ref:http://www.dermatologychannel.net/follicle/folliculitis.shtml If the lesion does not resolve in a week's time, then you can have it examined to rule out an STD.
Avatar m tn Hello, From the symptoms it can be folliculitis because there is a history of shaving. Folliculitis is the inflammation of one or more hair follicles. The condition may occur anywhere on the skin. Folliculitis starts when hair follicles are damaged by friction from clothing or blockage of the follicle like after shaving. In most cases of folliculitis, the damaged follicles are then infected with the bacteria Staphylococcus (staph). Keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics.
Avatar n tn PS I know it is a type of folliculitis, but I'd live some prevention and cure tips and even an accurate diagnosis.
Avatar m tn I picked some of it off and it bled alot and then the remainder of dried out and turned black but was still hard. It didnt hurt but burn when putting alcohol or vinegar on it. Then I picked the rest of it off out of frustration and it bled alot but what i picked off looked like a black scab. What could this be an could it be contagious. I dont have unprotected sex and could this be a reaction to the latex because this is the only spot i have found this?
Avatar m tn The look like acne sized white heads. I have been working out a lot and watching my son play football for hours in the Arizona summer. Because it itched just on the pimple area I thought it was jock itch. I am worried, not sure why. I don't have insurance and frankly this is a embarassing area.

Avatar f tn Hello, when I was seventeen years old, I shaved my private area completely and regretably broke out to the point that my hair won't grow back in and pus bumps come and go every now and then. I am 26 years old now and sadly, the problem is still there. Throughout the years, I've seen gynocologist after gynocologist and two suggested it may be Folliculitis.
