Avatar f tn Anyway it is really embarrassing to go to a gym and my family gives me no support so I never do it at home. Where should I workout?? Should I just tough trough it and get a gym membership? The problem is there has to be a gym that is open at 11 since that would be my only time to workout. What should I do? Should I just continue to do vigorous house work and walking the dog? Or should I just get a gym membership? Thanks I appreciate it!

7998970 tn?1435183202 Walking, exercise ball, little weights, etc are okay, especially if you were pretty active before pregnancy. No hardcore workouts though. time to gain weight lol.
Avatar f tn These equipment-free exercises are convenient for home workouts, but can help you get comfortable in a gym setting. If you're not sure how a machine works ask the personal at the gym. Get the OK from your doctor first.

1521103 tn?1291102071 Hi, doing heavy weightlifting in the gym especially against the gravity when you are in standing position affect the longitudinal growth of your bones. In my opinion weightlifting while you are on a bench would not produce this effect. For better consultation you may approach your gym instructor.
Avatar f tn Benching a little less then my norm and still doing back workouts. Just know your body and when you need to rest or stop and get plenty of water! But I'm good, I've been lifting for 2 years so if your bodies used to doing whatever you want to do your good!

Avatar n tn Hello all, I have noticed recently, during my weightlifting routines at the gym, that I will occasionally get a fluttering sensation in my heart that lasts about 10 to 15 seconds and occurs randomly while lifting weights or doing abdominal exercises, but oddly enough never during cardio workouts such as running or swimming (chance?). These "flutters" are quite worrisome, as I feel as if my heart may not recover it's consistent beat sometimes.

Avatar f tn Good job on the workout! In the days after your workout you'll experience two different kinds of muscle soreness. Within the first 24 hours of your workout, you might be kind of sore. This is normal--your workout created little tears in your muscles and they need to repair. This is when you rest. You can still go to the gym, as long as you don't exercise those muscles that you focused on yesterday. 24-48 hours after your workout, Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness will set in.
Avatar f tn After my first baby I became a gym lover and I plan on working out throughtout this entire pregnancy. Im a little nervous. .. thoughts?
Avatar f tn For strength and toning, inner leg lifs, squats, lunges would be good. leg press, hamstring machiens at gym might be ok... provided that you do low weight, high reps otherwise you'll build too much muscle to be a long distance runner. So maybe just have really light weights if any at all for leg lifts, squats, lunges. Abs: ex 1: lay down on your back and keep your legs together then raise them to a 90 degree angle then back down to the floor without touching it.
Avatar n tn That's a pretty broad post. Can you afford a personal trainer at a gym? That way you can tell them what you want and they can get you started. You'll only get "huge" legs if you do tons of leg resistance exercises (and if you have the genetic ability to get them without taking steroids, which is unlikely unless you have large legs to begin with).
Avatar f tn ) if not it helps to look at YouTube videos ( i like livestrong woman, blogilates and Tara stiles ) or look for apps ( I like nike training club) Hope this helped !
Avatar f tn I never stop all together. There's always some kind of exercise you can do. I run, lift weights, and kickbox. All modified for my expanding tummy of course. And I get our of breath much faster, but I love my workouts! I'll start swimming soon, when my hips and back say no more running!
Avatar m tn I have a hernia that pops out and is very painful when I do abs at the gym. I can only us an ab machine for maybe a few light sets then my abs feel like they start to tense and I can tell it's about to pop out. After some moving around I can get it back in but I want to know is there any way I can do abdominal workouts without this happening.
Avatar f tn Many people find it helpful to exercise. Perhaps you can join a gym and do some strenuous workouts right after work. Have you had these symptoms long?
