He calmed me down and told me it could most likely be IBS, and that stomach cancer is unlikely for 23 yr old people. After which, the pain elevated. Firstly, On 6th March, I had a sharp pain on my left rib, a particular area. I thought it was stitch. however the pain did subsided slightly but i could still feel pain by pressing on that area till now. I began to feel my ribs to ache, and also my upper back muscles, which seemingly to give me bouts of spasms pain.

I cancelled the next test to think some things over, I'm really sick, bloating, have had GERD for over ten years. Abdominal pain, black cole like stool, trouble swallowing, leg pain, dizziness, nausea all the time, vertigo. The docter didn't like me cancelling and he sent me a withdrawl letter that said I should seek attention right away... His nurse said I was fine. The letter was certified. I'm freaking out! Sent a letter back stating I wanted to be reasigned.. That's what he said to do...

he asked about my stress and I told him I was worried I had stomach cancer because of my sour stomach and lack of appetite. he mentioned that at my age it would be very, very low. He said the lack of appetite is more for people 40 or 50, then it is a warning sign. He told me I was fine, onlything wrong with me since I wasn't in any real pain (minus the general picks and pins here and there that come from Chron's disease) and only had a low grade fever (99), that I was fine. I didnt have cancer.
"I am a 46yo (white) female, I have been checking statistics for stomach cancer and I do see as a female and with my race the odds are very low. For the last 2 months I have been getting stomach "pain" more uncomfortable than pain, along with a feeling of "fullness" sometimes with a sense of nausea. No weight loss. I would say I have been getting indigestion and reflux for as long as I can remember.
I also probably should have mentioned that we have a family history of stomach cancer and stomach ulcers, which is also what got me to thinking this. My diet, when I do manage to get it down, is good - no worries there. I do not smoke, and drink alcohol occasionally. My specialist told me about an endoscopy but he said he didn't think I needed one, so instead, told me to wait. Do you really think it's worthwhile going back?
And since then I can hardly eat, feel nausea, been hot then cold, and have stomach pains and middle back pain. And my stomach is bloated. Then I pulled this up on the internet below. My doc is not in the office today. Do you think I should make an appt to see my Gyn or see my family doctor or just wait to see if this is just some stomach bug and goes away?

Hi I dont want to sound like im a hypercondriac but the abdomial pain that women experince with ovarian cancer is it lower or upper pain. I have upper stomach pain for over a yr now. It comes and goes its really high like right under the v part the ribs and top of stomach. I had a scope down the throat and and stomach they said there is redness and iritation there and had colonosopy also both done in june.
Given your age, stomach cancer would be less likely. Typically, stomach cancer would also present with nausea, abdominal pain, or early satiety. The best way to evaluate for this would be an upper endoscopy. You can also consider an upper GI series. These tests can be considered if this is suspected by your personal physician. Of course, there are many other things that can cause weight loss - including infection, hormone disorders, malabsorption, or other malignancy.
You should not go to the ER and tell them you are having severe pain, when you are not having severe pain. This could cause them to misdiagnose you. Worried8001, please do not advise people to lie to their doctor just so that they can get testing done. This is a very bad idea.
Most people complain of stomach pain but they associate any pain in the midsection as stomach pain but the stomach is actually located starting from about the sternum curves off to the left and comes back around to about a few inches above the belly button. If the pain is below this line and located more left it could be the pancreas causing the pain lower then that and you have to start in with the intestines so it is very important to know the exact location of the pain.

Also, I should note that while I have never seen any evidence of blood in my stools, I have never checked for occult blood. What are the most likely possibilities? Colon cancer? stomach cancer? Lymphoma? (MALT or other), Pancreas cancer? The enlarged spleen and the feeling of involvement in the lymph nodes has me thinking some gastric lymphoma could be the cause, but who knows?

I have had stomach pain since i was 15 years old. I am 25 years old now. My stomach hurts on a daily basis ranges from mild to severe. I have no blood in my stool and i have controlled my diet to see if the pain is related, but it can happen with any food that i eat. I've lost about 25lbs in the last year. I have no idea how to get help. Do you have any ideas how to help diagnose my problem?
