Avatar m tn treatment for acne. It is reserved for patients with severe acne which has not responded to other treatments, or who have relapsed after discontinuing therapy. It has many potential side effects but this must be balanced against the fact that 80% of patients experience long term remission from acne after one course lasting 16-24 weeks. Eloise.
Avatar f tn However, when the doctor had seen my back, he said he'd seen a lot more worst acne problems so hence why I thought they may be as he didn't say otherwise
Avatar f tn Hi All. I've just read through all the postings and I am so relieved to hear others have the same problems/issues. I have suffered from anxiety my whole life for a variety of reasons and it has gotten worse and worse over the years. I am 39 now. Several years ago, I went on Lexapro 10mg and in therapy for about a year. I was on it for 5+ years and was doing great. I went off of Lexapro and did great for over a year. My anxiety started to creep back in periodically, but I worked through it.
Avatar n tn Hello ladies, I am new to this forum. I was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 19. I'll be 33 next month. I've suffered from severe acne, cysts, abnormal periods and major mood swings. I've had 3 laproscopies and I've been on Yasmin for over 8 years. I have to say, of the 5 or 6 different bc pills I've taken, I found Yasmin to be the best. It really curbed my acne a great deal. Also, I had no cysts. On some of the other bc pills, I still developed cystic ovaries.
Avatar f tn If your daughter is benefiting from mini pills then she can opt for other treatment options for acne also. Other than that she can opt for Mirena IUD or Implanon. There are several other options for the treatment of acne, like topical or oral antibiotics, retinoids, or Isotretinoin. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar n tn Hi, i am currently using an acne treatment called Aknicare - so far it's working well. i've suffered from acne for years and never seem to find anything that works. Can anyone recommend a treatment or has anyone used Aknicare?
Avatar f tn You can try the proactive body wash. It really does work I've never had back acne but when i was younger i had face acne. My mom bought me the proactive and it cleared up. My little sis had back acne we got her the body wash and it reduced back acne. I've seen it work maybe it'll work for you as well.
Avatar n tn I used to cry when i used the cream cause it stung like crazy and the soap would only make things worse. So i went back 3 weeks later and he gave me birth control and told me to come back in a month. A month passed and nothing changed, so i went to a new doctor. He told me to sotp taking the pills as soon as i was finished and started me on new pills and cream cause he believed i had an infection on my face. Now, almost a month later, nothing has changed.
Avatar f tn I never really had acne on my face let alone my back but now I'm beginning to break out on the back or my shoulders. What kind of products are safe/effective in treating that sort of acne. Not overly concerned just wanna control it if possible.
Avatar f tn hi there, i have pcos and my OB and DERMATOLOGIST suggested that i take yasmin coz i have acne in my face and back and probably because of hormonal imbalance. i never wanted to take pills because of the side effects. its my 1OTH DAY of taking the pills. no drastic improvement with my acne yet. im quite sleepy lately, i dont know if this is one of the effects of the pill. anyway, my greatest concern is that after i stopped taking the pill after 6 months, im afraid of acne breakouts.
Avatar f tn I never say anything cause I'm not sure how to comment back!! I can send personal messages but that's all!!!
Avatar n tn A doctor will be able to determine if you are indeed the right candidate for BC pills to control acne or for your periods. Do not start them all by yourself for these reasons, it may backfire. Please consult a gynecologist for your periods and dermatologist for your skin. all the best.
4565515 tn?1373411085 I switched to it two or so years ago because my other bc pills were causing acne, but it cleared right up when I started Apri. I know bc can cause acne but I've been on it for over 2 years with no problems. My question is should I make an appointment with a doctor to see why I'm getting acne and does it have anything to do with the stomach weirdness since my period ended on 6-29-13?
Avatar f tn ve come off of it a couple times for various reasons but I ended up going back on it due to my irregular and painful periods and acne coming back. (My acne started coming back almost right away and disappeared almost immediately after I went back on them) I am a virgin but next year my long time boyfriend and I plan on taking our relationship further and I have a couple concerns - If I am ever a few hours late taking my pill I will usually get withdrawal bleed a couple days later.
Avatar n tn Also birth control pill used to control acne, then she went off and it came back worse than ever. She is back on the pill for almost 3 months and it is not working. Why?
Avatar n tn other people have dry flakey skin cause they dont get their bodies to produce enough oils, in that case just buy some omega3 pills at the pharmacy. taste like vanilla, pills kinda big need to be taken with food, but no side affects..
Avatar m tn I had back acne since my 20's.They get worse in summer and little better in winter.I am 25 now.Since last year this seems to spread to the back of my arm as given in the image I've posted in my profile.I have seen many docs, accutane didn't suite me.The appearance on these pimple/acnes are black and raised. They remain like that for years.I've changed my diet and that seems to help a little. But I am concerned what are those really? Acne/pimple/folliculitis?...

Avatar f tn We have a solution! lol I got her those "seabands" you put on your wrists for nausea and THEY WORKED! We were stunned. She put them on and about 10 min later her nausea is gone! She takes the pill at night, unfortunately, I think she's among the 5% of women who get sick from it. But, I'm hoping once her body gets used to the pill (in 1 - 3 months) she won't be nauseated anymore. Until then, these bands are working a miracle here!
Avatar f tn AcneFree is a generic brand of proactive you can buy over the counter that uses benzoyl peroxide as it's ingredient. It's very safe for pregnancy and effective. But, you have to use it every day twice a day even if it burns or dries out your skin. It's really the only safe effective way to treat cystic or severe acne during pregnancy. Salicylic acid really isn't as effective. It cost around 14$ for about a months supply.
Avatar n tn I have been having this random cluster of red acne like spots on the upper middle of my back. I'm not sure if it's acne or a rash from my laundry detergent? I've been using benzoyl peroxide acne cream but it's still there. It used to be raised a little like acne but now its all flat.
Avatar f tn ve heard that because hormones from IUDs are localized vs systemic (like pills) my acne will get worse. Is this true?
