Common Questions and Answers about B vitamins acne

Avatar f tn This is an excellent question. Vitamins and isotretinoin can be tricky. B12 in general can actually be traced to acne flare ups. Isotretinoin can decrease B12 levels. Low B12 can be problematic. But generally is isn't recommended (B12) to be taken with Isotretinoin very often. I am glad you are followed by a doctor, is he the one who prescribed the isotretinioin? And why are you having the B12 added? I would talk to them about it as well as ask your usual pharmacist.
1386293 tn?1279592464 ur very welcome! Also, I was looking at one of my reference guides (going to be going to med school soon). Getting these amounts of vitamins may help too, especially if you have an ED. *chromium picolinate - use as dirested on label *vitamin B complex - 100 mg 3x daily *vitamin B3 - 100 mg 3x daily *vitamin B5 - 50 mg 3x daily *vitamin B6 - 2 mg 3x daily *zinc 30-80 mg every day *start with just the complex B vitamin @ 100 md three times daily. make sure it has the B 3, 5 & 6 in it.
Avatar n tn I agree- I dont think think a lack of vitamins would cause acne- but it doesnt hurt to take vitamins just for healthy living! I use and love proactiv. I'm a 24/f and I also suffer from breakouts and proactiv works really well. Try drinking a lot of water too- it really helps clear up your skin! I know accutane works- but I also know a lot of people who have suffered some adverse reactions from it. i would search www.adverse-drug-reaction.
Avatar m tn This is normal with B vitamins. You will notice this happens if you use nutrtional yeast, too.
Avatar n tn What are the effects of taking vitamins b, c d with Protonix?
Avatar f tn Thank you! Same happened to me. I mean I had some acne before but it wasn't that bad, like most people have. But after having B12 injections my face became unrecognizable in short period of time. I have been using both supplements and after that injections, now I am scared to take even oral supplements. I am not a vegetarian but I don't eat much meat, I also avoid cheese, eggs, milk and yogurt all because my dermatologist told me that these products can cause acne (except meat).
Avatar f tn So my dh and I have been ttc for a few months now. We had a mc last November and really hope to be pregnant soon :) My last af was on April 26th so I am due in about a week. Lately I have had symptoms of: sore breasts especially nipples (and I never get sore boobs, not even with my miss last year), been feeling a little nauseous at night and sometimes the morning, gotten dizzy a few times, tires all the time and almost can't get up in thE morning!
Avatar f tn 9 weeks along and I've been breaking out like there's no tomorrow. I use to break out like this before I started my period. I'm only assuming it's from my hormones and/or the vitamins I'm taking. Either way, I disapprove.
Avatar f tn Have you sought the assistance of a dermatologist for any prescription medications, either topical or oral? If you're able to visit a dermatologist, that should be your first step. Also a licensed aesthetician will treat your skin and teach you about good skin care. You should look to support your internal health, too. Drinking plenty of water will help to keep your pores clean from the inside out, help eliminate toxins, and keep your skin moisturized.
3063937 tn?1352422855 Also vitamins b-6 and b-12 to help with fatigue. And they also sell a med OTC at Walmart called restless legs u can take before bed that will help with the legs at night also and as always get ya a good multi vitamin.
Avatar f tn There an awful lot of them that might help. I'd recommend you find a holistic nutritionist for help with this. They'll help to make you as strong as they can, and with so many things to choose from and not knowing what meds you might be taking, they can help with the trial and error of finding what works. Diet is also very important for this particular problem, more so than supplements.
1808884 tn?1324345703 MAKE SURE TO TAKE VITAMIN B-12, MULTI-VIT, VIT-C, CALCIUM (NOT AT THE SAME TIME AS C OR THE C WILL KILL THE CALCIUM), MAGNESIUM. I AM TAKING FOLIC ACID WITH B-12. I WOULD MAKE SURE THAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU BY LOOKING IT UP ON LINE, IT'S PROBABLY OK!
10028419 tn?1416841704 Im guessing its my hormones from the pregnancy and maybe my vitamins because biotin has always broke me out. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do or what can help my problem? I use Olay cleanser and I recently stopped using my clean and clean moisturizer cause I felt like it was making it works. Help!!
Avatar f tn I have tried acne products from a to z, herbal vitamins, regular vitamins, changing my diet, have done hours of research on acne, and have tried hormon regulaters. I have a doctors appointment coming up I will post what they tell me and the options they give me.
Avatar f tn Cat, Try to load up on gatorade & bananas as well. DOnt know about the 5HTP, but Vit B, C and Calcium has helped me with the leg stuff. Stay the course!
Avatar f tn Thoroughly wash your body everyday, especially the back and shoulder part using a back brush and frequently change your bed sheet, as it is conducive for bacterial growth. Engage in a diet that is low in sugar and fat but is rich in vitamins. This prevents acne by preventing the buildup of excess oil on the skin. Also refrain from touching or squeezing your shoulder acne. Also try to keep your hair free of dandruff by using good antidandruff shampoos.
4209053 tn?1351516914 I am deff going to get these vitamins today. No more relapsing !!! I hope this helps me feel better....trick-or-treating is just tomorrow night.
467493 tn?1229895239 I am almost 11 weeks and I have had he WORST acne of my life since I found out I was pregnant! I know a lot of acne medications are not to be used durring pregnancy, but I am desperate! Is there something any of you have used safely while pregnant? Any ideas, or anyone with the same problem?
Avatar m tn Through your description, it sounds like you have adult cystic acne, many times this is caused by a hormonal imbalance. It doesn't surprise me that steriods helped clear up some of the acne, but returned when the prescription ran out. Also, your body will build up a tolerance to steriods if you use them too much. Rather than treating the symptoms, treat the cause. Have you had blood work done recently to make sure all your levels are okay?
599170 tn?1300973893 I've taken a multi vitamin daily since I was 13. I sometimes take extra B vitamins as well. I think when things are so hectic we sometimes don't get as well or as much as we should and any bit helps.
Avatar f tn Our beneficial organisms are partly responsible for our mental health and are one of the biggest current areas of research for helping people with anxiety and depression. They help manufacture some of our B vitamins, essential for proper mood, and reduce the inflammation that many believe to be a large factor in mental health as well as Alzheimer's prevention.
Avatar m tn The nutrients most affected are calcium, iron, folic acid, vitamin K and many B vitamins. See pernicious anemia. If you're nervous about trying supplemental hydrochloric acid, you can do a trial with 1-2 TBSP of organic apple cider vinegar mixed with 1/8 to 1/4 cup of water after a meal. If it makes you feel better and does not hurt, you most likely would benefit from taking 500 - 1000 mg. of Betaine HCl with your meals. H.

Also try to keep your hair free of dandruff by using good antidandruff shampoos You can also apply benzoyl peroxide creams or clindamycin cream on the acne. If the symptoms persist, then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist then.
