azor and alcohol

Then I just got a 2nd opinion and this dr said to quit Atenolol,Isosobide and Ranexa and start Azor and Bystolic and he wants me to have a Cardiolite stress test. I really do not see an improvement with Azor and Bystolic-I think I have just as much angina maybe more on these 2 drugs. My question is what will stress test show that the heart cath didn't show?

CT scan shows no pancreas abnmormality. EGD just yesterday shows no ulcers.He has just taken me off the nexum, lipitor and azor. No ETOH, no NSAIDS etc. Every time I eat I have this pain. It is driving me crazy. I had been taking ibuprofin for the pain.

I never had a problem until I had my first baby and a week later my bp was 161/110 2nd baby after a week shot up to 191/110. Took forever to go down and was finally put on Azor 5/40 plus a water pill. I went off because my bp was normal after a year or 2, then one night I had a heavy chest, I took my bp and it was 180/108. I an 51 years old I visited about 3 neurologists in my lifetime since i was about 10 years old. the last neurologist put me on epilim and azor .5mg - it seem to keep the dizzyness away. if i became dizzy, I was down for quite a few heavy sleeping hours. as soon as i woke up, it was gone. I could never play netball in school, or go dancing with flashing lights etc. since about a year ago, i started having other symptoms as well.

I recently stopped the flecainide and have had no significant a-fib that I can discern, although some skipped beats. I do continue to take bystolic and azor for high blood pressure. However, since discontinuing the flecanide, I have had what I would describe as a pounding heartbeat (not rapid), dizziness, and consistent blood pressure readings of 140s/50s.

I stopped Azor 5/20 mg about one month ago, still having side effects. Has anyone stopped bp pills and had side effects lasting this long. I was on the drug for two years. Stopped because I started getting side effects that I first got when I started the pill.

Has anyone here hadan RAI for hyperthy? Can you tell me a little bit about what to expect. I'm very nervous about this because of what happens when the gland begins to die and starts dumping hormones in the blood stream. I read it can cause a storm and with my heart problems and high blood pressure, I'm terrified! Does anyone know if being on high does of beta blocker will help this. I'm currently on 400 mg of PTU per day, 200 mg of atenolol, and Azor for BP as well.

I am concerned. I take Azor for high blood pressure, I also have been exposed to TB (1987 took INH and B6 six months) I also have lactose intolerance, I take enzyme for. Should I take this medicine? My blood pressure is controlled with the medication. If I take the digestive enzyme could that eleviate the problem of lactose intolerant? I don't know what to do.

He just started on a very low dose blood pressure med withen the last three months azor and doing good on that but the doctor said that because of the cyst they may had been the cause of the rise in blood pressure. Is all this info a cause to be alarmed. I read there is no cure for polycystic kidney disease only dialysis and transplant but that is still no gaurantee that the cyst wont return. I am afraid for him and not sleeping it is about 3:50 a.m now and my mind just racing.

m about to ask is not something I partake in on any kind of regular basis, we just think we are back in college and proceed to act and drink like fools. My doctors take a pee sample every visit and drug test every time they even ha e signs up that if you fail one it will be reported and they will call dss when baby is born (i don't do anything but that's my Dr's office)

This might seem crazy but it's been going on for about 4 months now. Everytime I drink, whether it be one drink or 5 drinks, I wake up about 1-2 hrs after I go to bed with a racing/pounding heart and I'm real hot and sweaty. It's almost like an anxiety attack. Alcohol has never bothered me before and I was wondering if anyone had a clue about what could be causing this.

I Had problems with alcohol before but for a long time like a year I was able to drinK two three beers and go to sleep and go to my job and I was happy. For the past 3-4 months my drinking of beer reached more than six packs a day and some times with early morning panic attacks, anxiety forcing me drink at 5.00AM then sleep taper it and same cycle next day. Hi -Alcohol can sometimes irritate your heart and cause it to do unpleasant things. I don't know what your heart defects are, but drinking probably isn't the best thing to do. I know you want to have fun, and fit in, but if you do serious damage to your heart, that will not be much fun. I had to recently give up drinking wine due to arrhythmias, but I am hopeful that I will be able to drink it again. When you are older, you may not have the same reaction as now.

Well I've had diabetes for about 5 years now and I'm jus about 17 now going into my junior year and I want to drink and get the drunk feeling. I've only done it a few times now and every time I've gotten drunk I still remember to check my bloodsugar and can think completely straight too. I know that when you drink it slows down your kidneys for distributing glucose so your bloodsugar can go low just depending on the type of alcohol...

I don't understand how alcohol can cause hypoglycemina in diabetics. It seems to me that it would cause hyperglycemia because of the sugar in the alcohol. I just heard a story of an adult who passed out twice because she had wine after taking insulin. Her blood sugar was 175 when she took her insulin and within 15 minutes she was passed out.

I do drink occasionally but I am acutely aware of how alcohol impacts my system and adjust my insulin accordingly. I am on an insulin pump and if I know I am going to drink have programmed specific patterns to adjust for this. It is really important to be pro-active rather than reactive. In adddition alwways have someone with you who is aware of your condition and how to help should you need it. If you choose not to drink I applaud you.
