Azithromycin yeast infections

Common Questions and Answers about Azithromycin yeast infections

zithromax

Avatar f tn Alot of antibiotics will cause yeast infections. I've never heard of them causing miscarriage tho.
Avatar m tn antibiotics will definitely give you yeast infections.. the only antibiotic i can take is azithromycin (z-pac) im allergic to all the others.. ask your doctor what would be best for you to use to help clear it up!
Avatar n tn Besides this Group B Streptococcus, mycoplasma, neisseria and cornybacterium are known to cause throat infections. Other known pathogens causing infections of the throat are viral and yeast (candida). The antibiotic of choice for a streptococcal infection is penicillin but azithromycin is also effective. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn it has nothing to do with your sexual indiscretion. Yeast infections happen all the time in women, and they often come and go. 1) Yeast infections have no effect on chlamydia, or vice versa. 2) Low risk, as you discussed with Dr. Hook, but not zero. Were you tested, as he recommended? What did it show? Even if not tested, it probably doesn't matter; in men, chlamydia generally clears up on its own within a few weeks or months.
Avatar n tn Diagnosed as NSU and over next three months it kept recurring despite abstaining from sex and being treated with Azithromycin 1 dose, Doxycycline 1 week, Erythromycin + Metronidazole 1 week, and lastly Azithromycin again for 5 days. My wife was treated with Azitheromycin large single dose and then 4 days. All tests to isolate organism were negative. I was told to stop looking so closely and it, at last, cleared in January.
Avatar f tn 2) Are the two antibiotics listed above prone to causing oral yeast infections? I just cannot find a lot of information on that online unfortunately. The only reason I even remotely worry about HIV is that white tongue/thrush is a symptom of HIV. I have never had thrush before and it is coincidental to come roughly 4 weeks after intercourse. (albeit also 13 days after I took the antibiotics).
Avatar f tn you need to go back again and be seen. they will test you for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally. Not unusual for antibiotics to trigger an overgrowth of yeast as well as sometimes BV will occur with other infections. Don't self treat with otc yeast medications - be seen and get the proper testing done.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had multiple yeast/BV infections? I've had 3 so far and I think I'm having another! I'm going to ob tomorrow and I'm sure I'll get some meds. It's frustrating. Anyone Else?!?! Please help.
Avatar f tn If you have an infection vaginally, it can throw the delicate balance of good and bad bacteria, which can cause BV or yeast. Azithromycin doesn't cure BV, so you'll need to talk to your doctor about it, and get a different medication. Get checked though - don't try to treat yourself. You could have a yeast infection from the azithromycin - it's common to get a yeast infection from antibiotics - and that treatment is different than BV treatment.
Avatar f tn I was having servere pain in my middle back in the right side so at 1 am on the 5th I went to the er at that point was 22 weeks and 4 days they admitted me into labor and delivery where they found out the pain was due to a kidney infection they kept me on an IV with antibiotics until I was discharged this morning they sent me home with more antibiotics to take to finish fighting the infection but since I got home this morning my vagina has been kinda itchy when I itch it it hurts could that be a
Avatar f tn you really need to go and be seen today or tomorrow and have these checked out. you need tested for yeast and bacterial vaginal infections, chlamydia and gonorrhea. if the provider thinks that these look like herpes, they can culture them for you. was pregnancy covered?
Avatar m tn Adverse events reported with azithromycin during the post-marketing period in adult and/or pediatric patients for which a causal relationship may not be established include: Allergic: Arthralgia, edema, urticaria, difficulty breathing, and angioedema. Cardiovascular: Arrhythmias including ventricular tachycardia and hypotension. There have been rare reports of QT prolongation and torsades de pointes.
Avatar f tn Monistat works like a charm for yeast infections! That's what my doctor told me I could take. Just over the counter. He recommended the 7-day treatment. Baby is protected by the bubble she's in, so the medication does not get to him/her. Perfectly safe! Unless as previously said, you have any other complications. I would talk to your doctor before you do anything. And like they said, anti biotics are needed for a bacterial infection. Good luck!
Avatar m tn All STDs are "pretty rare" from oral sex -- but among them, gonorrhea is among the most common. Also, the incubation period of "less than a week" is more in favor of gonorrhea than NGU or chlamydia. But this is a soft call at best; I'm not at all certain about it. Azithromycin 2g would be effective against both gonorrhea and NGU/PGU. Vaginal yeast infections are common in women who take broad spectrum antibiotics (like levofloxacin) but are rare in men.
Avatar f tn I'm 36 weeks pregnant. I gotten alot of yeast infections during my pregnancy. probably around 4 , Ive just got treated for one but I believe I got another again.
Avatar f tn They told me I couldn't retest if it hadn't been three months. Like three months for gonorrhea, one month for chlamydia. And I've always seemed to have recurrent yeast infections so I'm not sure what's going on anymore and I don't think they do either. Maybe I should see a different doctor? I have no idea.
Avatar f tn hello...dosomebody kknow...diferents between-yeast infection and bacterial vaginosis?
Avatar n tn Im a ftm,17 Years old 24 weeks and new to everything and i think i have a yeast or urine infection, down there feels so raw it burns when i pee and im also spotting will this affect my baby
Avatar f tn Im at 8 weeks and I've got my second yeast infection in 2 weeks. I know yeast infections are common during pregnancy but is it common that they come this frequently???
Avatar f tn I am diabetic and I am prone to yeast infections so I had to ask in case. They told me pro b for prevention and Monistat 1 not the 1 day but 3 or 7 and do not insert more than an inch. I hope this helps.
