"DRUG INTERACTIONS: Azithromycin (except Zmax) should not be taken at the same time as aluminum- or magnesium- based antacids, such as Mylanta or Maalox because antacids will bind the azithromycin and prevent it from being absorbed from the intestine. ...
Avatar f tn My son takes a medication that is specific WITH food and also another that says you pick with food or without food, but stay consistent with it. I think Coreg, from my reading, is food optional but the recommendation is that with food is better because it slows the rate of absorption. This is to prevent orthostatic hypotension (this is when bp drops and you get dizzy when you stand up). If you aren't having that problem by not taking it with food, then may not be a worry for you.
Avatar f tn Again, there is no way at his time to know what you are infected with, from whom, or at which sites. All you know for sure is that you have urethritis which was probably sexually acquired. 3. If you have oral gonorrhea you can transmit it to others. There are no data to say how likely transmission is to occur however we know that most exposures to infected partners do not lead to infection. whether that figure is 10% or 40% however is not known. 4.
Avatar f tn So 6+ months ago I received oral from another man. Shortly thereafter after I got itchy all over and slight irritation whilst urinating. I've take 2g azithromycin and 14 days of doxy. So, went to the doctor and got tested for chlamydia, gonnorhea, syphillis, and HIV. All negative. I now have a tingling in my right foot, I'm not sure what this is, could it be related to my previous exposure, or is this just anxiety or is there another cause that I'm not thinking about.
Avatar m tn The culture DID NOT grow any of the regular bacteria associated with UTI. He instructed me to stop with the Bactrim and take the azithromycin 1mg x1. I'm going back in a week to get another urinalysis done. I'm freaking out a little bit though and thinking worst case scenarios. This past week my GF developed what appears to be a stomach flu. What if this is HSV-2 or even worse HIV and I gave it to her? Sorry it is my personality.
Avatar f tn Male, 75, non-smoker. My husband has barely been eating for the past three days. He says he can't hold the food down and that he feels like regurgitating as soon as he eats (dry heaves). So I've been making him soups and pureed food, but he just eats baby portions. He's got a mild fever, which the acetaminophe/paracetamol he's taking helps with. He's been taking it for the past 6 months since the onset of covid complaining from headaches. Constant urination.
Avatar m tn From the way you ask the question, I cannot tell whether you had a a positive laboratory test for chlamydia, such as PCR or culture; professional diagnosis, but without laboratory confirmation; or your own belief based on symptoms. Whichever it was, at this point the proper action is to see a health care provider for further diagnosis and consideration whether other treatment is required; and if so, which drug(s) to use. I cannot make that judgment without direct examination and lab testing.
Avatar m tn t know whats going on since azithromycin and doxycycline are both 99% effective and i agree with him but that alone should tell him that it's probably something else. Anyways he tells me i need a cystoscopy to see if there's any scarring in my urethra or something like that. Here are some facts before making a decision. I took raw apple cider vinegar and it made the feeling of leakage go away for a while but it came back.
Avatar m tn Till today my stools are semisolids with undigested food particles, no pain in stomach. i had given my pus for culture on 17/09/2013 and the result for that came was Haemophilus parainfluenzae. I asked my doctor and he said nothing to worry. I was really scared so i got my urine again and stool test done . The report for urine was normal and stool report says undigested food particles. I was confused and i don't know what to do.
Avatar f tn While waiting for the results, my doctor prescribed single dose of azithromycin. It has been a week since i took azithromycin. The burning has stopped as well as the discharge. But today I noticed a brown bloody discharge which is watery. I am super scared and would like to know what to do while I wait for my results. It will take another week to get them. My partner had been tested four months ago and all was negative. Therefore he claims he is clean.
Avatar f tn m wondering how long it usually takes for the azithromycin to clear it out? Is it possible that even with 4 doses of the doxy and the 1 gram of azithromycin, I still have it? Is it easy to reinfect yourself (without sex) through things like underwear or sex toys? Or is the chlamydia gone and my body is just working on returning to normal? I will be going to get retested, the doctor said to wait a few weeks. But until, I won't really know, so I wanted to know if anyone knew.
Avatar f tn Are these sites where you can order Zithromax and Azithromycin without a prescription legit? Even if I want to take it because I think I may have an std, would it be safe?
Avatar f tn I’d like to hear if from someone if taking Azithromycin with doxycycline will cause any loss of effectiveness or interactions as I can find none.
Avatar f tn That same day my doctor proscribed me Sandoz- azithromycin 250 mg (4 tablets) which I took all at the same time that same day with food. I am scheduled for a re-test three weeks from that day. However, every morning I wake up (with an erection) and I urinate and it still hurts but not during the rest of the day. But today at around lunch time the lower right side of my body began to hurt and by this evening my testicles began to hurt also. Not severely, but they hurt enough to notice.
Avatar m tn I am thinking about going to the clinic and just getting treatment without testing. I would like to get azithromycin for chlamydia, Ceftriaxone for Gonorrhea, and a penicillin shot for Syphilis. Do you see a problem with this? I have 3 weeks until I go back home to my wife and I want to clear up anything I can quickly. I am circumsized and have to open wounds/sores either on my genitals or my mouth. She says she is clean, but I have to wonder.
Avatar n tn I wasn't entirely sure what topic to put this under but here is my quesiton... For months and months I've had trouble with my water works, I've had numerous urine samples, an ultrasound on my kidneys, x rays and I am now waiting on a cystoscopy. I've never felt the need to have an STD test because I have always believed my boyfriend was completely honest about his previous sexual encounters.
Avatar n tn This paper describes the efficacy of azithromycin 1g single dose in the management of uncomplicated gonorrhoea either with or without chlamydial co-infection. Three hundred and one patients were treated for gonorrhoea between January 2000 and June 2001; 226/301 (75.1%) were treated with azithromycin 1g stat dose while the rest were treated with different regimens. Avatar f tn I was just going to say that I am pregnant and am allergic to more than one antibiotic and zithromax or azithromycin ( the generic) is what they give me instead. It is an erythromycin based antibiotic which is like they said before category B and as safe as you get in medicines. Nothing is rated A. I work in a pharmacy. Relax!
Avatar n tn Of the bacterial STDs only gonorrhea and nongonococcal urethritis (NGU) are acquired through oral sex; chlamydia is rare and without an obvious sore or lesion on your partner’s mouth, the chances of syphilis and herpes is likewise tiny. As far as getting oral STDs through the performance of oral sex, the only meaningful risk is for gonorrhea. Even if your partner had an STD (any STD and it is likely she did not), most exposures do not lead to infection.
Avatar n tn This is true for any dye injection procedure, whether with a CT or an MRA.
