Avatar n tn The doctor perscribed and I took 2g of azithromycin. I noticed a great decrease in leakage but still am having some discharge if I milk my penis; it comes out about every couple of hours, again it looks like urine but after a while it looks like a small amount of semen. I am very worried about this. I still don't have the results back and should hear within the next two days. I'm trying to figure out how long it will take for the discharge to go away. Am I doing something wrong?
Avatar n tn a little after urinating but it was clearly urine that stained my underwear and again no discharge of any kind nor could I milk any discharge. I was given 1G of Azithromycin on the 27th and my symptoms all but disappeared the next day. I'm still waiting on my urine tests for gonorrhea and chlamydia. Does this sound like standard NGU considering the timing after exposure and symptoms? I highly doubt gonorrhea since I would expect discharge but am concerned about chlamydia.
Avatar m tn Several weeks ago I went to my doctor experiencing symptoms of an STI infection - itchy penis and a greenish/brown discharge. I was given azithromycin and also tested. The azithromycin cleared up the symptoms however one week later the test came back positive for gonorrhea (negative for all other bacteria/viruses tested). I returned immediately to the doctor and received an additional dose of azithromycin (oral) plus cefixime, both to be taken in one dose.
Avatar f tn s a lot almost like milk. I went to see an OB GYN for pelvic exam and lab test. I had pelvic pain same when you have period cramps. Inflamed vulva and cervix. The doctor suspected bacterial infection and gave me antibiotics "doxycycline" twice a day for one week and clindamycin once a day for a week. Also gave me an antiseptic feminine wash. The lab tests she ordered are gram staining and pap smear.
Avatar m tn s so consulted with a physician friend of mine and he prescribed 1g of azithromycin for me just in case, but never performed any std testing. I took the azithromycin approximately 1.5 weeks after our encounter. The problem was that I was given 4 250mg tablets, but I dropped one of them thus only taking 750mg of the azithromycin. So my first question. Is 750mg of azithromycin enough to erradicate chlamydia and mycoplasma genitalium? Fast forward 6 weeks (8 weeks after encounter).
1431138 tn?1294566894 i have been sick since sunday and went to see the dr yesterday. they made an appointment with someone i've never seen before, which would be fine but im kind of nervous because he gave me three prescriptions and he's a family practice dr. i was reading some of the info that came with the meds and it freaked me out.
Avatar f tn I'd say better safe than sorry ... mother's milk is good for babies, but in my uneducated view, the benefits of mother's milk are far outweighed by the risks of Lyme. "my midwife today brought it up again after she had a conversation with the head of the perinatal division and he says its okay." You are assuming that doc understands Lyme and knows how bad it can be for babies (and other living things), but there are many docs who don't think Lyme is a big deal.
Avatar n tn I just received my chlamydia treatment in the form of 4 tablets to be taken in one dose of Azithromycin. I starting menstruating today and I didnt know if there would be any reason this would affect the effectiveness of the drug. Also my partner was just treated yesterday...How long before we can resume having sex?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Chlamydia about a week ago. They gave me Azithromycin, 4 tablets at 250mg to take all at once. I took them and have severe stomach cramping and nausea, and ended up getting sick about 45 to an hour after taking the last pill... hoping that I would have already digested it before I got sick. The stomach pain lasted the rest of the day. It's been about 3 days now since I have taken it, but I still have that "burning" sensation after I urinate.
Avatar m tn My girlfriend is symptom-less and took the azithromycin the day after I did. I have only had sex with her a few times since, most recently about 5 days ago Could this be a recurrence of Chlamydia? Could it be from irritation? Could it be something else?
Avatar f tn After taking Azithromycin and getting a shot in my butt and waiting 7-8 days is it safe for me to receive oral sex from a female even if my symptoms cleared up the next day I took them and after being treated and given a shot and if I got treated within 5 days in noticing something is my chance of getting rid of a STD higher since I reacted on it faster and after waiting 7-8 days after taking azithromycin and getting a shot can not use a condom and still be safe even when the symptoms cleared up
Avatar n tn I have had an infection for just about 4 months now. I have no idea how I got it, but I ended up giving it to my gf. She went to the doc and he told her it was BV. I have tried taking Ciprofluaxin, Azithromycin, and Levofluaxin (plz excuse the spellings) but anti-biotics just don't really seem to do anything. My symptoms are so minor that I didn't even realize I had it until my gf told me I gave her something.
Avatar m tn She needs to follow up with her doctor. With her high blood pressure, and any other conditions she may have, she needs to work with her doctor. We can't offer medical advice to someone in this kind of condition. If she still has a fever, and her CRP is elevated, and she is so weak, it doesn't seem like she is recovering. Azithromycin is an antibiotic and won't do anything for this, unless she had another infection. Covid is a virus.
Avatar n tn No, because it doesn't happen to adults. Why? Because an adult has a good functioning immune system and an adult would not ingest as much breast milk as an infant that nurses for months.
1692704 tn?1307211780 My Azithromycin makes me very nauseated when I take it. I do take it along with food, but this doesn't always help. Anyone ever experience this with an antibiotic and if so, any suggestions to alleviate it??
Avatar n tn 226/301 (75.1%) were treated with azithromycin 1g stat dose while the rest were treated with different regimens. Ninety-seven of 301 (32.2%) of all isolated strains were found to be resistant to at least one antibiotic where penicillin constituted the majority (23%). Chlamydial co-infection was found in 38.2% (115/301). Only 73.1% (220/301) attended for a test-of-cure, all but six patients had negative gonorrhoea cultures at their reviews. Among the six failures 3/32 (9.
