I meant to say that azithromycin is safe and effective in nursing mothers, with no adverse effects for the child.
Three days later I visited an STD clinic and I was told I may have urethritis so I was given a one-time dose of Azithromycin. I was also tested for chlamydia/gonorrhea but I will not know the results until next week. It has now been three days since I have taken the Azithromycin however my symptoms (tingling/throbbing sensation in penis, burning when peeing) has yet to go away. In fact, I think it may have gotten worse (but still no discharge). My questions are:

- How effective are the antibiotics usually prescribed for the treatment of chlamydia – specifically, Azithromycin 1 Gram (Single Powdered Dose mixed with two (2) ounces of water) and Doxycycline Hyclate (100 Mg Capsules – Administered twice per day for seven (7) days)?
- How common is it that chlamydia symptoms persist during and after antibiotic treatment(s)? (Assume that both treatments were completed with strict adherence of clinical instruction).
I took 1g of Azithromycin (4 x 250mg) on the following day, 5th September. On the 7th September I took a further 1g of Azithromycin combined with Cefixime (2 x 200mg). I waited the recommended 7 days, plus another 3 for peace of mind. After treatment, I noticed a single occasion of discharge (clear, sticky, like seamen), which was very small, which I had to squeeze to see. I beleived this was natural and I was clear. I then had unprotected sex with Person B on 18th (clear status).
My youngest child is 11 so it has been quite some time since nursing. Although they were always a little different since nursing 10 years ago, lately it has been quite significant. I have not begun treatment yet as we are still trying to find out how extensive everything is. All I have had was the excisional biopsy without clean margins. I had a MRI and BRCA last week and am getting ultrsound this week based on the MRI findings. It looks like there are other quadrants involved.
I think the earliest age any babysitter will accept is 3mos old! Does this mean I should take my list off consideration for the nursing program? What if I loose this baby? I lost one dec 2013. Do you think there is any possible way I can have both my dreams? My rainbow baby and getting accepted into the nursing program? I'm 39.
I Know Urine is not infectious. Please taking into consideration other potential fluids. Like Pre-ejaculate/blood mixed with Urine/hematuria.Do you think i am at risk for HIV infection? Please tell me why,Thank you very much.

I am a male. I had unprotected sex on January 12th with a female. Later that week, irritation at tip of penis, some clear discharge, sticky & red urethra opening, slight need to urinate.
I read on this site it can be easily treated and cured with antibiotics, which may be administered in a single dose or taken over the course of a week. I should be able to buy Azithromycin over the counter here. Is that the right stuff to use and can you tell me the dosage please, or let me know the right antibiotic to buy..

I just received my chlamydia treatment in the form of 4 tablets to be taken in one dose of Azithromycin. I starting menstruating today and I didnt know if there would be any reason this would affect the effectiveness of the drug. Also my partner was just treated yesterday...How long before we can resume having sex?

I was diagnosed with Chlamydia about a week ago. They gave me Azithromycin, 4 tablets at 250mg to take all at once. I took them and have severe stomach cramping and nausea, and ended up getting sick about 45 to an hour after taking the last pill... hoping that I would have already digested it before I got sick. The stomach pain lasted the rest of the day. It's been about 3 days now since I have taken it, but I still have that "burning" sensation after I urinate.
She was given Metro gel (she is still nursing our 2 year old - hence the gel vs the pill) for the BV (she never had odor with the discharge). I tested for Gonorhea and Chlamydia via urine sample and was told it was negative and was provided 4 athriomax pills just in case for the BV. I then freaked out after internet searches and wnet and got tested for NGU HIV SYPHILYS. I know the pills probably killed any bacteria for the NGU test.

However, it probably would be sufficient. On the other hand, azithromycin treatment is very simple (1 gram in a single dose) and side effects are rare.
Those comments answer your numbered questions, but to be certain there is no misunderstanding:
1) Your doxycycline treatment for 7 days probably was adequate, even though there are no data available on 100 mg once daily.

I very much doubt herpes is causing any of your symptoms. The only one that might be compatible is the irritation of the glans, but herpes rarely if ever causes the diffuse irritation/inflammation you seem to describe. If it were herpes, there would be discrete blisters or open sores, especially in an uncircumcised man. In addition, the penile skin symptoms would have started within a few days of exposure, not 2-3 weeks later.
