Typhoid is rare in developed countries...just out of curiosity do you know how you contracted it? People with typhoid Are normally hospitalized...especially pregnant women. I don't mean to sound rude but my goodness what is your doctor thinking?! I also don't know where you live (not everyone on this site is from US). This can be a life threatening illness to both mother AND baby....it can be transferred to baby.

I admit to hospital for 3 days and my doctor gave iv antibiotic after that i was discharge and continue with oral antibiotic. Still i feel same symptoms. How many days will the synptoms disappered after medication? Please to hear?

i have continous low grade fever since d past three weeks which comes only in d evening....though there arent any other symptoms,my apetite is absolutely fine,there is no weight loss,no vomitings and even my tests came out to be fine,my doctor has recommended some further detailed tests,the reports of which will come soon....can u tell me wat can this be?? I have had vaccinations for typhoid and yellow fever. I have also traveled to approximately 70 countries on 6 continents and could have been exposed to any array of bacteria or viruses. Negative HIV test several years ago and haven't had risky exposure since. Doctors keep telling me not to worry, but when I research online there are a list of diseases that cause chronic BFP with the RPR. Can anyone shed some reasonable light on this? WHat can I do?

Hi, welcome to the forum, yes, the symptoms you have mentioned can be seen in typhoid fever. This can be confirmed by a test known as widal test which shows the raised titres of typhoid antigen. The skin manifestations can also be seen with allergic dermatitis but the fever and headache doesn't fit in the diagnosis. After the confirmation of the typhoid, ensure complete antibiotic therapy to prevent the relapse in the future.

Hi, I have been suffering from fever around (101F) , weakness and dry cough. I went to a Dr and he put me on aceclofenac+paracetamol, azythromycin, a medicine for acidity. It's the third day today but still the weakness n fever has not subsided. Dr asked me to undergo blood test and urine test. Widal's test is 1:80 and got high eosonophil count about 21 I think. Dr still says its a viral fever. I'm worried it could be typhoid as my lab guy said the same.

Hello, i have symptoms of fever, headache, body pain and last june 24, after two wks i was diagnose of typhoid fever, after a wk of medication and test its negatve and i start drinking alcohol, then i feel again the symptoms, i was admit to hospital and treated for iv antibiotics, all cbc are normal but i am positive for dengue igg. Doctors diagnosis shows symptoms of typhoid but even after typhoid treatment, she keeps on getting fever. It seems to happen with her since she was 9 years old. She is now 20 and facing the same problem now. Doctor is unable to find the cause of disease, even after all possible tests has been done. She shows on other symptoms beside high fever. Even if she is treated from best doctors, she gets fever as high as 103 or 104 degrees F. Doctors tests shows widal test to be positive to a high extent. She is treated for typhoid but even after typhoid treatment, she keeps on getting fever. Doctors have done several tests but everything is normal.

Hi, After my expsoure I did a complete STI screening by 9th week including HIV & Syphilis and all came negative. Then end of 12th week I did a finger prick HIV test and that was also negative. After that I was having unprotected sex with my wife now exactly 100th day from my initial exposure I was facing heavy fever(102) and few small red dots in my hand & legs(never came before in my life). Today 105th day from exposure I am diagonised with Typhoid and urinary infection.
