I was also just taking a 5 day dose pack of azithromycin for a sinus infection. I started having heart palpatations as well. I have tachycardia anyways so I didn't really associate it with the medicine. It really started worrying me when my left arm started feeling weak and tingling. This usually also happens when I have an SVT attack but it goes away quickly. This tingling lasted all day. My heart palpatations were more frequent as well.
I am concerned about possible drug interactions between the antibiotic azithromycin and the two heart medications warfarin and amiodarone. I was diagnosed with Chlamydia about a week ago. They gave me Azithromycin, 4 tablets at 250mg to take all at once. I took them and have severe stomach cramping and nausea, and ended up getting sick about 45 to an hour after taking the last pill... hoping that I would have already digested it before I got sick. The stomach pain lasted the rest of the day. It's been about 3 days now since I have taken it, but I still have that "burning" sensation after I urinate.

Adverse events reported with azithromycin during the post-marketing period in adult and/or pediatric patients for which a causal relationship may not be established include:
Allergic: Arthralgia, edema, urticaria, difficulty breathing, and angioedema.
Cardiovascular: Arrhythmias including ventricular tachycardia and hypotension. There have been rare reports of QT prolongation and torsades de pointes.
The only other real symptom I have is heart palpitations or a consciousness of my heart beating in my throat occasionally.
Actually, I do also feel pretty congested in my sinus and can feel mucus (yuck) possibly dripping down towards the back of my mouth.
After two weeks, I was prescribed Amoxicillin. It had no effect so I went back to another doctor and they prescribed Azithromycin.

But usually most penicillin, cephalosporins are thought to be safe, whereas macrolides, such as erythromycin, azithromycin, are thought not to be. Also the antifungals are also not safe ( all the ones ending in azole). Besides antibiotics there are many other drugs which can also prologue the QT interval which you should be careful with.

After further reading on azithromycin in the internet, I stumbled upon some people saying including in this forums that taking azithromycin can affect the vdrl for syphilis. I'm starting to get worried. I didn't notice any symptoms of syphilis on me at all. So is it possible that azithromycin can affect the vdrl for syphilis?

I have been taking Azithromycin for 4 days. I have gotten worse. Still have fever and have developed nasal congestion with yellow discharge. ENT gave me Spectracef. I read that Spectracef does not treat mychoplasma. So, is there an antibiotic that would treat both mychoplasma AND sinusitis incase I have one or both?
I was prescribed 1g of azithromycin 3 weeka ago in the UK for chlamydia.
Unfortunately from a bad reaction I had to a medicine years ago, I have a phobia of tablets, so I crushed the azithromycin, mixed it with water, waited for it to dissolve (about 2 hours), and drank it (very foul bitter taste).
After 3 weeks, my chlamydia is back, exactly the same stomach cramps, and discharge (I'm female).

We we both prescribed 1000mg of azithromycin, 4 bills at 250mg. After 7 days of taking the medication we engaged in protected vaginal sex (condom). About 2 weeks later we performed unprotected oral sex (both of us giving and receiving) and continued with protected vaginal sex.
4 weeks after taking azithromycin I got re-tested for chlamydia which my results came back as negative. Her's came back as positive.
How common is it for 1000mg azithromycin not to be effective for clamydia?
Ok so i was treated for Chlamydia [havent got results back yet] with the 4 pink pills called Azithromycin [one time dosage]. My symptoms were itchy penis and i had discharge coming from my penis. I was treated for Chlamydia and my symptoms pretty much went away i still have very mild discharge [only in the moring] its been almost a week since i was treated, is this normal? should it be complety gone already?
I took azithromycin single dose of 1g yesterday for diagnosed Chlamydia. Would it hurt me to take a 2g does the following day to cover the possibility of gonnorhea? It wasnt diagnosed but since I have the medicine here, I wanted to take it to really cover my bases but didnt want to overdose or anything. He advised against this but gave me a prescription of Azithromycin, with 500mg dosage twice a day for three days. In all my research online, I have read that the recommended dosage is 1g of Azithromycin taken once. Is the dosage I was prescribed as effective?
