Someone posted on this site that Azithromycin will not cure Gonorrhea, however I read on the Pfizer web site that it will cure gonorrhea and chlamydia. So my question is, will a 2 gram dose of Azithromycin cure both Gonorrhea and Chlamydia.
The doctor said you have been suffering from chronic gonorrhoea. I am going to take 1.5g azithromycin for 3 days by oral. I have tested positive for gonorhhea.No sexual contacts for 4 months.Eye examinator said that could be caused by gonorrhoea. My question is how can I wash my eye with salt water?

I went to the doctors the day after and they gave me azithromycin for suspected Chlamydia Or gonorrhoea. Please note that I had no discharge. The dose was 2 x 500mg on day 1, 500mg on day 2 and 500mg on day 3
The symptoms reduced but not completely. The doctor also took a ruined sample which was ok.
I went to the sexual health clinic 2 weeks exactly after my last exposure. I took tests for Chlamydia, gonorrhoea (penile swab, urine sample) . The results were negative.
I have being having experiencing some discharge from my penis and a burning sensation when I urinate which started yesterday and has worsened toady upon talking to a friend who works at the pharmacy, he advised me to take 2g of Azithromycin as single dose because those are signs of gonorrhoea and I want to know if I have gotten the 250mg how many tablets am supposed to take??

11 days after exposure went to urgent care urinalysis showed white blood cells in urine sent it out for a cylamida and gonorrhoea test and treated me with penicillin and azithromycin also gave me cipro for poss uti. My urinalysis came back negative no explanation for my symptoms do you think my exposure was risky for any stds do you think my 2 neg tests were accurate.

Hi, I did 2 home swabs 1 for gonorrhoea and the other for chlamydia both came up positive but when I went to the doctors my swabs came back negative for both. I decided to take the treatment cefixime (suprax) 400mg and azithromycin 1000mg as a single dose. I did this 2 days ago. I have had a vaginal discharge and general discomfort 'down there'.
I have been recently diagnosed with gonorrhea and the doctor prescribed me a medicine of azithromycin. Two tablets on the first day to be exact. When I woke up the next day, I felt better. I didn't feel lethargic and I just simply felt stronger. Now with that being said, do I have early HIV symptoms because of the fatigue or can it be caused by the gonorrhea? because after starting ttreatment I felt better.

Went to get tested on Monday, still awaiting results from chlamydia/gonorrhoea. Swab taken from my penis revealed an infection due to white blood cells present but my doc could not say whether it was chlamydia or NGU. She provided me with azithromycin 4x250g. 5 days later there's no improvement and additionally my left tecticle started to become sore, I've got pain in my lower back and my lower abdomen feels a bit tight.
It sounds as though you have partially treated gonorrhoea - though I am relying on your statements so I may be incorrect.
We do not use ciprofloxacin in the UK for gonorrhoea because resistance to this drug by gonorrhoea has reached an unacceptable level of greater than 20% resistance. My understanding is that in China resistance is much higher indeed - partly as a consequence of it being freely available over the counter as in your case.
Also, Negative for Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, Syphilis, HIV. I also took Doxycycline and then Azithromycin prior to getting negative results in case it was Chlamydia or Gonorrhoea, and Metronidazole in case of Trich.
No discharge
No tingling
No sores
No flu like symptoms
No testicular pain
I'm just wondering now if this could be simply a herpes symptom? I am hopefully going for a test today, i know it's 5 weeks but hoping for some indication.

While waiting for the results, my doctor prescribed single dose of azithromycin. It has been a week since i took azithromycin. The burning has stopped as well as the discharge. But today I noticed a brown bloody discharge which is watery. I am super scared and would like to know what to do while I wait for my results. It will take another week to get them. My partner had been tested four months ago and all was negative. Therefore he claims he is clean.

On 10 of May I practice unprotected sex with my wife and after two days, her period became confused with heavy bleeding. After 10 days more we continue to practice unprotected sex and suddenly I discovered blood in my clothes after the vaginal sex, that happened twice and first since we married 4 years ago.
I went to my doctor right away and performed a urine test for Chlamydia And gonorrhoea and took azithromycin that he prescribed that day. The next day I unprotected sex with my girlfriend and then not until a week after. since then I have had symptoms come and go, usually after sex and when I have milked my penis looking for discharge. I have had this happen in the past where I have had a reaction to certain condoms which have caused a bacterial infection.
I see obviously that you were treated with cipro, doxycycline and then azithromycin. The last two will be active against chlamydia and the cipro may or may not - depending on resistance patterns - be effective against gonorrhoea. In general most of us would not recommend cipro for an STD these days.
There are other organisms that may be relevant and the key seems to be that you have not been tested.
No skin lesions. I told the doctor that I was afraid of DGI, disseminated gonorrhoea, and he told me that DGI symptoms are much more evident and I should not worry, also blood testing were not compatible with systemic infection.
So I took Cefixime with Azithromycin and 20 days later I repeated the urine PCR and came back negative.
Normally gonorrhoea presents with a profuse and horrible discharge in men and also the burning and pain on urination is severe. Having said this it is entirely possible you have gonorrhoea or chlamydia which to me would seem more likely since the discharge here is not as obvious and the dysuria is often not as painful. Both are completely and utterly curable. For chlamydia a single dose of azithromycin will do it and with gonorrhoea, a single dose of ceftriaxone (both are antibiotics).
