Avatar f tn If you have an infection vaginally, it can throw the delicate balance of good and bad bacteria, which can cause BV or yeast. Azithromycin doesn't cure BV, so you'll need to talk to your doctor about it, and get a different medication. Get checked though - don't try to treat yourself. You could have a yeast infection from the azithromycin - it's common to get a yeast infection from antibiotics - and that treatment is different than BV treatment.
Avatar f tn Not yeast infection like at all it hit like a ton of bricks about half an hour after I took the medication.
Avatar f tn I'm 12 weeks with and std clumida and a yeast infection for my yeast infection I'm taking amoxicillin 500mg one in the morning one in the after noon and one at night and for my std I'm taking azithromycin 250mg and my doctor said to take all 4 at once and I'm done.
Avatar f tn I have had the same partner since Oct of last year and was tested before any engagements. Well on the 17th of Feb I felt I had a yeast infection. Went to urgent care for that and what I believed was developing into a URI from my most recent virus. Urgent care said I had strep and he prescribed me a azithromycin and Diflucan for yeast (no swab). Well following Wed I was in tears when urinating from the urine touching my skin and knew I also had a uti.
Avatar f tn Sometimes you can get an yeast infection right after the med just wait until your doctor check you and let you know everything.
Avatar f tn I had unprotected sex and had a yellowish/green discharge, no other symptoms, so I got tested for only ghonnorea and chlamydia, results were positive for chlamydia and negative for ghonnorea. Was prescribed a 10 day course of doxycycline, 100mg, 2 a day. One week after treatment I still noticed a slight bit of discharge, so I took 1000mg of azithromycin which I already had in the house (was in date, etc) and didn't go back to the doctor.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with chlamydia on a Tuesday and I was given one dose of azithromycin. A few days later, I noticed my discharge is weird. It's increased but it also has small white specks in it as well. I'm afraid the anyibiotics led me to get a yeast infection.
Avatar n tn Diagnosed as NSU and over next three months it kept recurring despite abstaining from sex and being treated with Azithromycin 1 dose, Doxycycline 1 week, Erythromycin + Metronidazole 1 week, and lastly Azithromycin again for 5 days. My wife was treated with Azitheromycin large single dose and then 4 days. All tests to isolate organism were negative. I was told to stop looking so closely and it, at last, cleared in January.
Avatar f tn chances are the infection never really went away, if it was gonorreah or syphilis it probably relapsed...
Avatar n tn It's a positive test. And azithromycin is the antibiotic or chlamydia.
Avatar f tn Hi confirming stds is only by testing and your discharge appears as a yeast infection not chlamydia
Avatar m tn Since beginning the antibiotics, I have been experiencing white discharge that I was not having prior to taking flagyl. It is very different than a yeast infection. (I am also on flucan to prevent a yeast infection.) It is creamy and sort of sticky. What is this new discharge? Is it my body trying to get rid of the infection? Am the BV resistant to flagyl?
Avatar f tn I went back a week later as I still had the itching. I was told it was a yeast infection. They prescribed Nystatin. I used it for two weeks with no improvement. I went to my PCP, showed him my original test results. He looked at me and confirmed the yeast infection and told me to continue with the Nystatin. He ordered all different types of tests +STD tests again except for Clamidia or gonarrhea. He said I did not have any symptoms so no need and the previous tests were negative.
Avatar f tn ve got 2 vaginal yeast infections one before my last month period taking into consideration that i was on Azithromycin antibiotic, and the other yeast infection is right now and i have 3 days left to my period...lately I've had a surgery and been on a course of antibiotics plus i am taking hormone pills "Bellara".
Avatar f tn Now I'm feeling a burning/need to urinate in my vagina. I'm really getting nervous that it's an STD. The sore red throat is starting to subside, but now I have these new symptoms. Could it be another type of bacteria that is causing it? Maybe a yeast infection? a UTI? Do you honestly think it's not an STD because the results came back negative?
Avatar m tn Last month my wife thought she had a yeast infection. She complained of a feeling of irritation. Took an over the counter treatment and it went away. A few weeks later, it returned, she took an over the counter treatment and it disappeared again. It finally returned a third time and she went to her gyno, they gave her fluconazole (pill) and a cream( tetrocanozole.. I believe) The symptoms went away immediately.
Avatar m tn I agree bacterial infection seems unlikely after the week of Antibiotics I took and I shall take your advice a yeast infection is also unlikely. I assume you hint that Clotrimazole is not a sure cure for a yeast infection if I even had any? I think based on your advice I will hold out taking the DOXY until I have been to the clinic again.
Avatar m tn Sounds like you still have some kind of infection or you developed a yeast infection. See a Dr for a test if you can.
Avatar n tn This study concluded that azithromycin 1g single dose was quite effective in curing gonorrhea. "This paper describes the efficacy of azithromycin 1g single dose in the management of uncomplicated gonorrhoea either with or without chlamydial co-infection. Three hundred and one patients were treated for gonorrhoea between January 2000 and June 2001; 226/301 (75.1%) were treated with azithromycin 1g stat dose while the rest were treated with different regimens. 18966962 tn?1472601945 I have been prescribed doxycycline hyclate 100 mg twice a day for a week then later 1g of azithromycin and a shot of rocephin. I have been tested twice both times negative for Chlymedia/Gonorrhea. Would those antibiotics cover most STIs as well? I know like NGU/Urithirtis/Vaginosis etc.. arnt covered in normal STD panels. Would those antibiotics cover most STIs that arnt included in standard STD panels?
Avatar f tn Im supposed to be going to planned parenthood so they can do a swab to see if it’s some sort of yeast infection or other bacteria. I was tested for Gonnorehea as well and it was negative. I had chlaymdia before when my boyfriend cheated on me in 2016. Idk when i was reinfected but im just now finding out because i never had any serious symptoms of anything. Could it just be a yeast infection or bacterial infection from the medication?
Avatar m tn If she took that much medication (and you) that could cause a yeast infection, and maybe even for her BV.
