I picked up a food borne illness while in MX in September & my doctor put menon an antibiotic.. it was azithromycin & it was a pregnancy category B (no evidence of risk).I don't know if it treats typhoid though & what I had was not typhoid. I was so relived as the other person who responded is correct.. typhoid is very very dangerous to the baby. Definitely treat immediately.

I admit to hospital for 3 days and my doctor gave iv antibiotic after that i was discharge and continue with oral antibiotic. Still i feel same symptoms. How many days will the synptoms disappered after medication? Please to hear?

t stop there, I also experienced fever, shivering within, sweats in the afternoon, Diarrhoea, dryness of mouth, sour mouth. I went to a doctor, test for malaria and typhoid were carried and it read that i had typhoid fever. I was given injections for about 5days. Didn't experience those symptoms again, untill in June. They came back again. I started taking pain killers like ibuprofen, daclofenac and amoxyl(antibiotics) tablets to ease the pain. I also started coughing.

The Widel test is to check for Typhoid but your result is slightly low. A positive usually is 160 or higher for recent infection. Did you have a vaccine of typhoid in your life? This vaccine can cross react with this test. The high Eos short for the Eosinophil cells, and are high but not that high. But being high they are a sign of a parasitic infection or fungal infection not a bacterial. Usually your white blood cell count would be high.
Hello, i have symptoms of fever, headache, body pain and last june 24, after two wks i was diagnose of typhoid fever, after a wk of medication and test its negatve and i start drinking alcohol, then i feel again the symptoms, i was admit to hospital and treated for iv antibiotics, all cbc are normal but i am positive for dengue igg. After 3 days i was discharge and continue oral antibiotic until now but i still suffering headache, low fever every afternoon, and nausea.

Sometimes urine analysis (if suspecting UTI),peripheral blood film(for malarial parasite),widal test(for typhoid),x-ray chest(for pneumonia) and lumbar puncture are required (if suspecting meningitis).I feel that your son should be seen by a pediatrician soon.

Secondly i dont know how i got typhoid.. Anyways i got typhoid positive from two labs. and totaly negative from one.... even i gave my blood the same day before medication to all of them.. The third one which gave negative results, they used elisa for typhoid. please help me in this matter. thanks.
Vinod, Could you explain to me the difference between the various vaccines? How is the flu vaccine different from the ones for malaria, typhoid, dengue fever, Hep A/B? How is it possible that those are safe for her? That's what her neurologist told her. That she coulddn't have the one for the flu but could have the others. I don't think she should have any of them.
