Quick follow up question. I went in to a clinic today and doctors prescribed me 2g Azithromycin to treat me. However today I woke up with a very red, slightly swollen eye (no pain) and read after I got home that it could be caused by chlamydia transferred from my hand to eye while being careless about hygiene. Would this be cleared up with the Azithromycin also?

You may have infected your eye from the throat infection and it might be cleared by the Azithromycin if it is the same organism that is causing the problem. But usually they give you eye drops for an eye infection that have antibiotics in them, so I'm not sure if the oral med will care of the problem. You could also have an allergy, virus in the eye or have accidently got something else in your eye. Try eye drops and if it doesn't clear up in a day or two then see an eye doctor.

I was provided an oral azithromycin Z-Pack along with Azasite Azithromycin eye drops which definitely provided some much needed mercy on me and my poor eye. BUT I noticed, the redness was gone and most of the puss, BUT my eye was looking inflamed still, causing the eye to look more closed that the other. Not to mention throbbing sensations off and on.

m on the medication, azithromycin dosage is over and 2 tablets left for levofloxacin, and my eye redness has reduced a bit and the burning during urination reduced a bit too but not completely gone. What i want to know is:- 1.Will this antibiotic course be enough to cure my conjunctivitis? 2.Should I be taking antibiotic eye drops as well? 3.should i go see an ophthalmologist? 4.My vision gets a bit blurred at times, but washing with water or blinking a few times fixes it.

a week ago my left eye started to hurt out of nowhere later that day i notice that it was getting very red. i never had any type of eye problem before, my sister said it was just pink eye and that it was nothing but then my eye got extremely red and swollen around after 4 days when it look the even worst i when to my optometrist and the check my eyes and told me that i looked like an infection but that it was weird for it to only be in one eye.

All was looking promising except over the weekend (started on day 8) my right eye started getting reddish (like pink eye but no inflamation). Yesterday and today the eye was less red but still pink. I cannot imagine why your doctors would think that chlamydia is causing your red, irritated eye. If it did, it would not come and go. I suspect your eye redness is a coincidence and not related to your sexual exposure. Hope this comment is helpful.

IGg = positive' i take Clindamycin 300 mg 1-1-1-1 , azithromycin 500 mg 1-0-1, Padnisolon 20mg 3-0-0, Tab dally last 20 days. but still not much improve , i see wavy when try to read something, and i fill my vision power decrease day by day... how can i get well soon ? what can i do now.? is there any food restriction for toxoplasmosis patient?

Would a 10 day treatment w/ Cipro (500mg, twice a day) before positive test results came back for Chlamydia infection cause 7 days of Doxy and 1g of Azithromycin to be ineffective? I read that Cipro will not treat Clamydia and then read a study that said it can slow down the growth of it and cause it to be persistant. Also, when I as being examined by the second doctor he noted that one side of my lypnodes in my groin was enlarged, he did not seem too concerned, just noted it.

While there I was taking ciprofloxacin and azithromycin 500 mg daily for prophylaxis. I was diagnosed with Chlamydia about a week ago. They gave me Azithromycin, 4 tablets at 250mg to take all at once. I took them and have severe stomach cramping and nausea, and ended up getting sick about 45 to an hour after taking the last pill... hoping that I would have already digested it before I got sick. Thanks, Vance. What about the fact that my urethra is irritated? Now I also think I might have pink eye. My eye isn't really pink, but crusts up in morning with some goo. Maybe just a side affect of the antibiotics? Still paranoid. Also been on antibiotics for 1 week.
