It might be, it does seem a little light but it could clear a STD up if you had it. Best thing is always wait for tests. And I think this is why the Dr went light on the dosage.
I caught a cold on the 1st that didn't clear up. The malaise of the cold went away, but I got a really bad, fitful cough and I'm having a hard time breathing, especially if I do any sort of physical activity. Even just walking a couple blocks winds me so badly I feel like I may pass out if I don't slow down.
I decided to go to the doctor, who told me it may be whooping cough or walking pnemonia. She gave me Azithromycin and an inhaler for short-term symptoms.
Last appointment I went to the nurse asked between 30-34 weeks they reccomend me getting a pertussis/tetnis (I'm sure those are totally mispelled) shot. I said I would think about it. I'm kind of undecided. Have any of you gotten it? Or do any of you ladies think it'll be a good idea to get?
Yes, a ZPack is azithromycin, but a ZPack is actually a pre-packaged 5 day course, at least here in the US. And I just learned that it's Z-Pak. Cute.

I have started the normal dosage of azithromycin for it's common use (I am sick), but found out that someone I slept with may have had chlamydia in the past.
Would the dosage of 500 mg per day for 3 days (total of 1500 mg) be effective for treating chlamydia if I have it?
I have already talked the first 500 mg tablet today. Should I take 2 x 500 mg tomorrow? Or continue my current dosage?
Ok so i was treated for Chlamydia [havent got results back yet] with the 4 pink pills called Azithromycin [one time dosage]. My symptoms were itchy penis and i had discharge coming from my penis. I was treated for Chlamydia and my symptoms pretty much went away i still have very mild discharge [only in the moring] its been almost a week since i was treated, is this normal? should it be complety gone already?

For months and months I've had trouble with my water works, I've had numerous urine samples, an ultrasound on my kidneys, x rays and I am now waiting on a cystoscopy. This wouldnt be the correct dosage? Is there a difference between azithromycin 250mg and 500mg, even if they are added up to the same exact dosage? Would 1000mg of azithromycin (from a zpack) cure chlamydia is my question.
I have just finish the treatment for gonorrhea after finishing the prescribed 5 day dosage of azithromycin. After further reading on azithromycin in the internet, I stumbled upon some people saying including in this forums that taking azithromycin can affect the vdrl for syphilis. I'm starting to get worried. I didn't notice any symptoms of syphilis on me at all. So is it possible that azithromycin can affect the vdrl for syphilis?

I had some azithromycin prescribed to me for diarrhoea from my doctor before I came overseas, to use in case of illness/travellers diarrhoea and inability to see a doctor.
I looked up the uses of azithromycin and saw that it could be taken for chlamydia. Unfortunately at that time I didn't read the prescribed dose, so I took 1000mg in the way that is recommended for travellers diarrhoea, two 250mg tablets Day 1, Day 2 + 3 one 250mg tablet.
Can anyone help me please! I know the standard dosage for chlamydia is 1g of azithromycin usually 2 x 500mg pills, my question is would 500mg over 3 days cure the chlamydia as it's over the 1g?
2) What other drug/dosage is commonly prescribed for UTIs? I cannot afford to visit a clinic/doctor right now at all, so telling me to ask my doctor, consult my care provider, etc, though understandable, will be of absolutely no help.

I have recently been diagnosed with mild NGU although I am still waiting for my Chlamydia and Gonorrhea results. I have been given one single dose of azithromycin (1 g) . It has been four days now, and when i urinate there is still a burning sensation. I have not had any discharge at all. Before (Hours before) I have the burning feeling when I urinate, I also have a feeling of pressure/pain at my pelvis.

Also called pertussis it is a serious bacterial respiratory infection. It can be deadly to infants and toddlers. You should ask your doctor If you're still eligible to fit the shot.
Tdap is a very important vaccination to get. Pertussis is making a comeback. Not only can it kill infants, but it can knock a healthy adult to their knees. I had it in 2009. I was sick for 3 months. Had to sleep upright in a chair for 2 months. I bruised my ribs from the ENDLESS, hacking cough. When it was done, i still needed an inhaler for a year. I am a tough cookie and it really knocked me for a loop. I do NOT recommend anyone chance finding out.
He had not yet received his vaccine for pertussis (whooping cough). I of course got both the flu shot and the tdap at my 28 week appointment. He was so sick. I will not risk my newborn baby girl's health who us due in December right in the middle of the sick season. I do not want to go through that again.
TDaP stands for Tetanus, Diptheria, and Pertussis. Pertussis is whooping cough. This vaccine gives you protection of all three of these diseases. Just 4 days ago I started to feel itchiness on the same area and it was a few small blisters so the next day I started again the same treatment, the same dosage. The scabs stop growing or spreading and by now are dry. Its been only 2 months apart this second outbreak. The antiviral its really expensive but given the frecuency of the outbreaks should I go under supressive therapy? and if so, Whats the dossage and period of time i should do it?

Just to clear things up, I'm a man, it's not a big deal either way except it gives me a different perspective on these things.
I did mention that 1g of azithromycin can have failures, but the truth is that still it will work most of the time. Actually azithromycin will nearly always work when it's taken for a longer period, like 500mg for 7 days. It's a good drug to use for treatment, it's just 1g is often not sufficient.
I guess I should rephrase. Would the dosage given clear up NGU that is not caused by Chlamydia? I'm not sure what the failure rate of urine test is, but I am guessing that testing after a week would typically generate a low false negative result for chlamydia and gonorrhea? I gave a beginning stream sample and waited right at an hour before urination.
Am I correct to assume that I should be most concerned with a non-chlamydial NGU? The doctor had gonorrhea in his mind for some reason.
I went to a urologist and was given an immediate shot for gonorrhea and 1g (2x 500mg) azithromycin initially, with an additional 500mg to be continued each day for 3 days. Given my activity and symptoms it was pretty obvious what it was. The only thing lacking was a discharge.
After day 3, the painful urination did not subside at all. I found this very strange since last time I got the gonorrhea shot the painful urination stopped the exact same day.
m on the medication, azithromycin dosage is over and 2 tablets left for levofloxacin, and my eye redness has reduced a bit and the burning during urination reduced a bit too but not completely gone.
What i want to know is:-
1.Will this antibiotic course be enough to cure my conjunctivitis?
2.Should I be taking antibiotic eye drops as well?
3.should i go see an ophthalmologist?
4.My vision gets a bit blurred at times, but washing with water or blinking a few times fixes it.
