Avatar n tn It might be, it does seem a little light but it could clear a STD up if you had it. Best thing is always wait for tests. And I think this is why the Dr went light on the dosage.
Avatar m tn Both finish the medicaton. No sex without a condom. Test 3 weeks after medication is finished.
Avatar m tn I have just finish the treatment for gonorrhea after finishing the prescribed 5 day dosage of azithromycin. After further reading on azithromycin in the internet, I stumbled upon some people saying including in this forums that taking azithromycin can affect the vdrl for syphilis. I'm starting to get worried. I didn't notice any symptoms of syphilis on me at all. So is it possible that azithromycin can affect the vdrl for syphilis? I hope my doctor knew what he was doing.
Avatar n tn As far as I'm aware, benadry is safe for quite a long time in dogs. The general doggy dosage is 1 mg/ per pound, so that's what your vet has prescribed - most people tend to go too low on the dosage. Using it for only the summer months should be no problem at all. I had a dog who needed it a good 8 months or more of every year and it never caused any trouble. Hope it works well for your Bostie!
Avatar f tn I had some azithromycin prescribed to me for diarrhoea from my doctor before I came overseas, to use in case of illness/travellers diarrhoea and inability to see a doctor. I looked up the uses of azithromycin and saw that it could be taken for chlamydia. Unfortunately at that time I didn't read the prescribed dose, so I took 1000mg in the way that is recommended for travellers diarrhoea, two 250mg tablets Day 1, Day 2 + 3 one 250mg tablet.
Avatar f tn I think we have a difference in dialect here. In the UK (not sure where poster is) Zpack is slang for Azithromycin. It’s not a name for a specific dosage. Interesting lesson learnt.
Avatar f tn For sure. Cats are at least 10 times smaller than a SMALL adult human female. What is given to us is too much for such a small animal. For example: The amount of Zyrtec I was told to give to Akira is only 1/4 of the adult human dosage. This is much smaller than the children's dosage, which is 1/2 of the adult human dosage. I would never ever give medications to Akira without her first seeing her doctor. I do know that no one should ever give Tylenol to their pets.
612551 tn?1450022175 The label provides advice for dogs as well as general farm animals. It prescribed 1 teaspoon per day for dogs over 10 pounds. Any experience/opinions about this approach to increase Pro Biotics in a dog's diet? It may be tasteless and could be sprinkled along with some water on dry kibble I will guess.
Avatar n tn I have started the normal dosage of azithromycin for it's common use (I am sick), but found out that someone I slept with may have had chlamydia in the past. Would the dosage of 500 mg per day for 3 days (total of 1500 mg) be effective for treating chlamydia if I have it? I have already talked the first 500 mg tablet today. Should I take 2 x 500 mg tomorrow? Or continue my current dosage?
Avatar n tn Hello I agree with deadgamegrll. I would not recommend taking him off the medications without consulting the Vet because abruptly stopping any medications can be detrimental to his health. It does sound like he is on too high of a dosage. I'm sure examination and testing by his Vet will give the information needed to get his dosage regulated properly.
Avatar f tn Ok so i was treated for Chlamydia [havent got results back yet] with the 4 pink pills called Azithromycin [one time dosage]. My symptoms were itchy penis and i had discharge coming from my penis. I was treated for Chlamydia and my symptoms pretty much went away i still have very mild discharge [only in the moring] its been almost a week since i was treated, is this normal? should it be complety gone already?
Avatar n tn Well, that's the dosage for chlamydia. If it was a bacteria from anal to vaginal, the dose would have been different. I would say the doctor was thinking the "nasty bacteria" you all were sharing is chlamydia.
Avatar f tn Can anyone help me please! I know the standard dosage for chlamydia is 1g of azithromycin usually 2 x 500mg pills, my question is would 500mg over 3 days cure the chlamydia as it's over the 1g?
Avatar n tn Hi. Pure coconut oil (must be pure, for dogs) is a useful supplement for dogs. It can be given with food or (warmed slightly) rubbed into skin, particularly where there are patches of irritated skin or hair loss areas. A small amount goes a long way, so be cautious with it. Too much can lead to diarrhea. It is not particularly useful for fleas, though it will help with any irritated skin caused by fleas.
Avatar n tn 2) What other drug/dosage is commonly prescribed for UTIs? I cannot afford to visit a clinic/doctor right now at all, so telling me to ask my doctor, consult my care provider, etc, though understandable, will be of absolutely no help.
Avatar f tn I have some ondansetron 8mg for vomiting for me what would be the dosage for a dog that has terrible motion sickness in car
Avatar f tn Determining a dosage of tramadol for dogs is an exercise in futility. As with people, if the dog has a history of seizures it is important to let your vet know this, and they will likely tell you about alternatives. While the dosage amounts vary from dog to dog, the tramadol dosage for dogs can be put into effect by using the dog’s weight as the determinant. The usual range is .5 - 1.8mg per pound.
Avatar f tn t know for sure. They may have additives or sweeteners or something which are not good for dogs (Xylitol, for example is toxic for dogs) I don't know obviously, if the shakes have stuff like this in them. Hopefully someone else will post who knows. Again you could ask the vet about this. Have you tried tempting Cookie with a little boiled chicken? Or a little steamed fish? You are right you need to jump-start her appetite if possible.
Avatar m tn Even ran some labs. In a human, I would treat this with magnesium and GABA. What would the dosage be for dogs? To be specific, our guy is 12 lbs. Anything else that might help? The vet gave us sedatives, which don't work and I don't like using. I have tried melatonin and lavender essential oils.
Avatar n tn This study concluded that azithromycin 1g single dose was quite effective in curing gonorrhea. "This paper describes the efficacy of azithromycin 1g single dose in the management of uncomplicated gonorrhoea either with or without chlamydial co-infection. Three hundred and one patients were treated for gonorrhoea between January 2000 and June 2001; 226/301 (75.1%) were treated with azithromycin 1g stat dose while the rest were treated with different regimens. Ninety-seven of 301 (32.
Avatar n tn Just to clear things up, I'm a man, it's not a big deal either way except it gives me a different perspective on these things. I did mention that 1g of azithromycin can have failures, but the truth is that still it will work most of the time. Actually azithromycin will nearly always work when it's taken for a longer period, like 500mg for 7 days. It's a good drug to use for treatment, it's just 1g is often not sufficient.
Avatar m tn I was first diagnosed with genital herpes on 02/19/13 I was having my first outbreak it was just at the base of my penis exactly where my penis starts and my pubic area ends. I was prescribed with valacyclovir 500mg twice a day for 5 days, by the third day the scabs where dry and I had no pain so the treatment worked. Just 4 days ago I started to feel itchiness on the same area and it was a few small blisters so the next day I started again the same treatment, the same dosage.
Avatar n tn It has been used for dogs but that is a strong drug often given to Chemo patients. I am not qualified to give advice or dosage on that. It sounds like you should be giving your Vet a call if the dog has a vomiting problem and try to determine the cause.
Avatar n tn Our dog had that hip displshia at 5yrs old and had bad joints since the operation. Our vet said safe for dogs. People, no. 8 is too much.
