I think that's your personal judgment call, most women are willing to take a catagory A or B. I did not take a z-pack, but I took azithromycin & it is also category B. Do the benefits outweigh the risks?

I was prescribed Amoxicillin for one of my wisdom teeth I had extrated yesterday which is Category B medication. I'm not taking the Category C which is Tylenol with Codeine which doesn't do harm but is advise just to stay away from. Category B has no harm to the baby I'm assuming your medication should be just fine. Being a nurse I had to look up these things. Look up what category the medication is and do research on what the categories mean.

I picked up a food borne illness while in MX in September & my doctor put menon an antibiotic.. it was azithromycin & it was a pregnancy category B (no evidence of risk).I don't know if it treats typhoid though & what I had was not typhoid. I was so relived as the other person who responded is correct.. typhoid is very very dangerous to the baby. Definitely treat immediately.

That's what I wasn't sure about. I knew it wasn't "bleach". I figured it may be in the category with dying your hair, fake nails ect where some say its ok some don't.

ve never been on it but I googled it and it said it cannot harm an unborn baby, but not to use it during breastfeeding because it can pass to the baby through the milk and may harm a nursing baby. But during pregnancy it is fine.

Hi All, I am 38 weeks pregnant and have been treated my entire pregnancy with azithromycin for Lyme disease. My lyme literate doctor only keeps his patients on 1 antibiotic through pregnancy. I was treated with bactrim for 3 months prior to becoming pregnant and I don't know when I contracted lymes. My issue is whether or not to breastfeed. My LL Dr. says NO. I have been in touch with infant risk and they rate lymes on a scale of 4 out of 5, with 5 being not recommended to breast feed.

Any new moms having problems with breastfeeding? My daughter is 2 weeks old and my milk supply is still low when I pump it's only 1oz from both breast sometimes less so I had to put her on formula which breaks my heart because I wanted to exclusively breastfeed for 3 months and then do both when I go back to work but I had no choice.

I used to work for a biotech company (and one of our drugs was rated Pregnancy Category X). This category applies to pregnancy specifically, and means the risks outweigh the benefits and should NOT be given to pregnant women. Please see links below. I also have been freaking out because my dr. has me on estradiol and I've begged him to take me off them because of these concerns. I've considered going off of them on my own.

I told him about the recommended therapy for NGU and had him RX me 1mg of Azithromycin which he told me that I could use "if I wanted to". However he wanted me to start Bactrim right away. I feel somewhat left in a limbo. My concern is that I didn't get the right antibiotic and that any bacteria infection could spread throughout the system; kidneys etc.

Can you take ultram during pregnancy? I know it is a category C drug but I know people who take phenergan and that is a category C drug as well.

I just received my chlamydia treatment in the form of 4 tablets to be taken in one dose of Azithromycin. I was diagnosed with Chlamydia about a week ago. They gave me Azithromycin, 4 tablets at 250mg to take all at once. I took them and have severe stomach cramping and nausea, and ended up getting sick about 45 to an hour after taking the last pill... hoping that I would have already digested it before I got sick. The stomach pain lasted the rest of the day. It's been about 3 days now since I have taken it, but I still have that "burning" sensation after I urinate.
