Avatar f tn My doctor put me on a medication called SYNAREL Nasal Spray for the next six months. Just wondering if anyone else was on this nasal spray? Side effects? I've been on it for 2.5 weeks. I've had horrible headaches daily, extreme fatigue and muscle and joint pain. My doctor does not think this is related to the Synarel. Anyone with similar experience?

Avatar f tn s ok for her to get the nasal spray. I was wondering if this can bring some negative side effects. She is four years old and suffers from asthma since she was 3 years old.
612551 tn?1450022175 My EN&T problem that brought me to this community is night time congestion . I have tried many decongestant products, some over-the-counter and a couple prescription formulations. I have fond that the only thing, pill or spray, that really clears the nasal passages for me is the "Afrin" type nasal spray. Of course we all know this will produce bad unwanted side effects (rebound and loss of sense of smell I believe), so I don't use this spray every night.
Avatar n tn com/health/nasal-spray-addiction#treatment It suggests switching from a decongestant nasal spray to a steriod nasal spray. I would check with your doctor though before doing anything. Your sinus gets physically dependent on the spray but you can resolve that.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if any of you on the site who have Hep C, who have ever had experience with using a prescription allergy medicine that is a nasal spray? I had taken Flonase in the past, never really cared for the backwash it has. But, I've been seeing an allergist because my allergies have really bothered me this year. He prescribed a medicine that is a nasal spray called Astelin.
910524 tn?1288273614 So thus evening I took a dose of nasal spray to try it again and my nasal congestion was better but lo and behold I am sitting here at 2:00 am writing this as I've been coughing for the last 15 minutes. It's to much of a coincidence for me to not think it's the omnaris spray. I will now stop the dose again until I see my doctor next week and get her thoughts. I can deal with the nasal congestion better than this coughing. This is of course just my theory.
Avatar m tn Have you tried the nasal spray? I think it works wonders. The problem with benedryl, other than side effects for me, is that I would suffer too much during the day time. I suspect the dose to my body is relatively minor, but not sure.
Avatar n tn He recognized there may be a connection between the nasal spray and elevated IOP. But not enough data exists to determine if this is the problem and if it will eventually go away. But as a precaution he decided to prescribe pressure reducing drops. I had a reaction to the drops the first day and returned to his office to report the reaction (bloodshot eyes). While rechecking my pressures,he found that they had dropped to 16 with only one application which he suggested is not usual.
Avatar n tn I use zomig nasal spray for my migraines and one of the side effects is nose bleeds in the side that you spray the medicine in. Probably not what's going on in your case... but since you get migraines, just thought I'd throw that out there just in case!
Avatar m tn Sildenafil has its own set of side effects which you can check by reading the paperwork that comes with your prescription or by going on the Mayo Clinic website and looking up the drug. Since you have "mild ED", it may only be due to the amount of intercourse of "2-3 times a day" which makes it difficult for your body to recover from.
Avatar n tn Anything above 7 days could cause rebound effects, and he must see a doctor regarding how to solve the symptoms caused by the nose spray. Side effects are nasal congestion, other nose problems and as a matter of fact, high blood pressure. If he is short of breath, self-medication with nose spray is not good. The doctor must find a cause (unless the only symptom is nasal congestion, that would likely be caused by the mentioned side effects).
Avatar f tn Allegra, zyrtec, claritin, flonase, ipratropium, ranitidine, azelastine, prednisone, azelastine, clarithromyc, ventolin, montelukast, azithromycin, clindamycin, methylpred, cefdinir, omeprazole, arnuity.
Avatar m tn Noticed also you have been using nasal spray? for how long?
Avatar n tn Combinations of drugs are made up of one or more anti-allergy medications that help simplify dosing and often will work either together for even more benefit or have counteracting side-effects that eliminate or reduce total side-effects. You can also try allergy shots or Immunotherapy. It would be good to discuss these options with your doctor. I hope this helps. Take care and keep us posted.
612551 tn?1450022175 I use saline nasal spray, but sometimes use Nasonex nasal spray for short term use, with just one spray in each nostril instead of two. It helps, reduces swelling and reduces eye symptoms and allergic headaches. It doesn't seem to affect my PVCs, at least not so far. I use it only when symptoms are really bad.
612551 tn?1450022175 The doctor recently prescribed fluticasone propionate nasal spray and some antibiotics. Is it okay to combine the spray with saline nasal irrigation? If so, how do I combine them?
Avatar f tn com and most cold meds have some very bad side effects if taken while pregnant....
Avatar n tn It works by constricting (shrinking) blood vessels (veins and arteries) in your body. The nasal formulation acts directly on the blood vessels in your nasal tissues. Constriction of the blood vessels in your nose and sinuses leads to drainage of these areas and a decrease in congestion. One of its side effect may be elevation of blood pressure and an irregular or fast heartbeat.
Avatar n tn It can also be treated using an antihistamine nasal spray or saline nasal sprays. Symptoms can also be relieved by using a nasal spray that contains corticosteroids. But due to their side effects,it is better to use saline nasal sprays. The golden rule for chronic stuffy nose is steam inhalation. Inhaling steam from a bowl of hot (but not boiling water) may help to soften, and loosen, the build up of mucus in your nose.
Avatar m tn both of ours symptoms get resolved if we take antihistamine like cetrizine + montelukast. But if we take fluticasone nasal spray, there is no improvement at all even after month..both of us get no relief from nasal sprays...even tried metaspray (mometasone). What is the reason behind this?? Is it genetics? Or the corticosteroid is not getting absorbed? Or its getting absorbed but not producing result.
Avatar f tn My treatment plan includes the usual .... steam, nasal irrigation, nasal gels, nasal oils, humidifiers, tons of water and tea, no dairy and ocassionally an antibiotic and oral steroids. This is how I’ve managed to keep things under control. Had septoplasty and turbinate reduction about 17 years ago and maybe there was some relief but really not sure (surgery screwed up my septum, now ive got a septal spur and small hole in septum....in other words, the doc screwed it up).
