Even getting older an cause it, smoking, taking various medications (not just avodart), gaining weight, etc. Do you find you also have erectile dysfunction? I say this because there are certain medications meant for men, like Avodart for enlarged prostate, that women are told not to even handle. They say so on the commercials for this medication. If women are told not to even handle Avodart, which would mean that it can be absorbed through the skin, I would think you may be right about the possibility of you absorbing the hormones from the IUD. But, I suspect some doctor may refute this, although I don't know why.
What is normal time to stay Avodart ? The doc give enough for 3 weeks but I would think I would need to stay on for longer than that. I have had no side effects as I know of and I believe it has helped. How long has others stayed on this ? Thanks for any help.
I'm 68 years old and have had Cataracts for over 2 years. I've been taking Avodart for over a year. Should I stop taking Avodart and wait awhile before cataract surgery or will the informed Dr be able to work with my eyes? I've never taken Flomax and have heard the warnings from the commercial and read about Flomax. I'm concerned about any complications.
I'm also pretty active. Can I still swim after surgery and what are the chances of the lens shifting or coming loose?
I am a 61-year-old, white male. In the past, I had been VERY heterosexually active. I’m not gay. I am now in an exclusive, monogamous relationship and have been for quite some time. Three years ago, I was diagnosed with BPH, and prescribed a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. Urine stream improved. Frequency abated. I asked my urologist to consider putting me on the standard dosage of Depo Testosterone, strictly as an exogenous source of free testosterone, due to malaise, fatigue, etc.
I am suffering from BPH for the last 4 years and I am taking DUTASTERIDE (AVODART) and Alfuzosin .
Unfortunately , these meds do not help much since few months ago.
I also about a new procedure named: gat-goren (GG), that sounds as non-pervasive.
Did anyone hear about the GG procedure and can share experience or knowledge about that ?

Just a friendly question regarding this reply, if that's ok. If the anti-HSV meds work, does it mean that one has the virus? For example, undiagnosed pain diminishes when using Valtex = herpes?
Well I'm 7 months that means I'm 27 weeks and I have only gain 1 pound my midwife said it was OK 4 me to not gain weight bcz I'm over weight so u girls tell me it seems like I won't have to do a lot of weight loss. How far are u nd how much you gain?

I know this is probably a stupid question, but I'm 36weeks pregnant and since my last doctors appointment I haven't gained any weight. I didn't gain weight in the 1st trimester due 2 sickness, but in the 3rd I've been pretty steady with my weight gain...at the very least a poun a week. And now it's been almost 2 weeks and still no weight gain. Could that mean anything? Or is it just normal? Thanks in advance!
I believe that prevacid can cause weight gain ..seems so many babies are now diagnosed with reflux we used to call it cholic and wait for it to pass now seems they put them on meds.Still your doctor would know the answer, I think its the meds and whilst you child ius on them he may gain weight.good luck once he is off the meds he may go down to a normal weight.
