Avodart low testosterone

Common Questions and Answers about Avodart low testosterone

avodart

He stongly recommended the operation even though I had E.D. problems and low testosterone. About a year after the operation I started having excessive bleeding and during my last vist he proscribed Avodart due to an enlarged prostrate ,82, to be taken forever. My testosterone level is 80 without help so I take 200 mg testosterone shots every two weeks. Viagra and Levitra do not work however Cialis helps somewhat. I cannot ejaculate since the operation and that makes my E.D. problem worse.
Are you aware that dutasteride (Avodart) is a testosterone inhibitor? It and related drugs are intended and normally used as lifelong care in older men with prostate enlargement; and to my understanding are not indicated for a short term problem, such as infection causing prostate inflammation or enlargement. It takes many weeks or months for such drugs to significantly shrink the prostate.
When I was 35 I noticed a drop in libido , at 37 I went to the DR with my symptoms which were Fatigue, Depression, low libido, erection problems, short term memory problems... all related to Low Testosterone... My level was 400 and even though that level isn't considered low or even low normal he know that my symptoms determined what I needed... to make it short once I got my Test dose to 150mg a week all symptoms went away.
I have a history of kidney stones and already have another calcium deposit that has developed in my left kidney (just 5 months after lithotripsy!). I also suffer from low testosterone and GERD and take Testim and Nexium, daily. Does anyone have any ideas? Is there such a thing as a hernia that can't be seen on ulrasound? Can a back injury cause these symptoms (the middle of my back has hurt during all this time, but only when in certain positions. Dead center, on spine.

My creatinine levels were a bit high (just barely) and whatever measure of general renal function was a bit low (also barely) but not so much that he thinks there's a problem. I lift weights regularly so he thought that the normal ranges may be a bit off for me. The blood has stopped and a urine test as of yesterday showed no detectable trace of blood in my urine at all.
