Avatar m tn I have had a round of Avelox a few weeks ago and recently Omnicef 600mg/day for 10 days and still have discharge. Question, wouldn't these antibiotics be affective against NGU, Chlamydia or Gonnorrhea? Thanks for the help.
1373852 tn?1307843048 I wake up at night wheezy, coughing up white or clear phlem . I also have chest heaviness and itchiness in the chest area. I feel like there is phlem stuck in my throat and my nose feels stuffed. When it is hot out I get these same symptoms.could this be asthmatic bronchitis or something else. I took antibiotics and they didn't help so the doctor gave me avelox(a stronger antibiotic)I am afraid to take it because there are so many dangerous side effects.
Avatar m tn After trying Doxy, Azithromycin, and Flagyl, the only antibiotic that finally worked was Avelox. The question now is what I should treat my partner with. I know from my experience that my NGU was passed sexually, and she needs to get treated before we can have sex again. The problem, is that she said she is allergic to Avelox. Another problem, is that since it is NGU, we cannot test to confirm if the bacteria is cured, and she is also asymptomatic.
Avatar m tn I have tendonitis as a result of taking Avelox. Is this a condition that can be treated like other tendonitis and what is the prognisis?
Avatar f tn Avelox... I went yesterday and saw a lung specialist, he calmed me down and told me that i only have a little pneumonia in my lower left side it's nothing to be worried about. It's the bronchitis that's causing a lot of pain in my chest and back that I did not have prior to the antibiotics.
Avatar f tn I found a post that said that medications from the fluoroquinolone antibiotics (such as Cipro, Levaquin, Tequin, Avelox or Floxin) can cause these symptoms...I took Cipro and Levaquinn about 7 years ago, for a few short days each and my doctor switched the medication saying I was allergic. Now I am wondering if all my symptoms that have gone undiagnosed could be a side effect of those medications. Anyone else able to tie the two together? If so, what can you do to make it better?
660680 tn?1225215237 A few days after the exposure I statrted taking an antibiotic, Avelox, for a sinus issue. Over the weekend I statrted to itch but with no visible signs of a rash. The question I have is this an early sign of HIV infection? Were my blood tests too close to exposure and therefore worthless? Is the "itch" a possible adverse reaction to the Avelox. I stopped taking the antibiotic today. Just overly concerned and need some reassurance that I have not contracted HIV.
Avatar n tn I recently developed an upper respitory infection and bronchitis and one of the medications was AVELOX. Within 3 days the severe pain in my shoulders was GONE. How is this possible? Was it a viral infection causing my pains and if so could it be a form of Lyme Disease?
Avatar f tn treated with doxycycline by end of june for 1 wk. started on avelox end of july for 1 wk. then given levaquin for a wk. by last wk doc said she didn't think was infection cause levaquin shoudl have killed anything, even though I was still having gobs of green phlegm coming down the back of my throat and out of my lungs. she sent me to the asthma and allergy clinic where i was tested for 27 diff allergies all negative for.
Avatar n tn t abated, provider considered trich, and mycoplasm as possible culprits). I was also put on avelox 400 mg for 10 days as well. Currently I have 6 days remaining on the doxycycline and 9 days remaining on the avelox. I have not engaged in any sexual activity whatsoever since my diagnosis however I still have a very mild clear mucus discharge primarily in the morning; the penile itching and dysuria has abated.
Avatar f tn I have had SEVERE joint pain from taking avelox. After 2 days of taking the antibiotic for a combined sinus and a mrsa staff infection, I had crippling joint & tendon pain in my knees, ankles, Achilles, shins and hips. After calling my dr. and speaking to my pharmacist, i stopped taking the medicine immediately. I made an appointment with the prescribing dr.
Avatar m tn I took a 7 day course of 400mg Avelox about one month ago (April 5th). I have had a good amount of tendon pain mostly in left achilles and in tendons on top and bottom of arch of foot as well as some heel and knee pain. Again, like I said primarily left side. The achilles pain has subsided some, most of the pain and discomfort now is in the foot.
Avatar n tn - After two days of suffering ithcing in my urethra, followed by a frequent urge to urinate, I began to take some left over Avelox (400 mg) that I had on hand. Trust me, I know this was dumb. 36 hours after I began taking the Avelox (one dose on Friday night at 5:30 pm and one on Saturday at 5:00 pm) I had a swab for gonorrhea and chlamydia (1:45 pm on Sunday). The test results just came back negative. Is it possible that the Avelox ruined the test results?
Avatar m tn Went to see a couple of doctors and they think it is sinus infection - so went on two anti-biotic treatments (Augmentin 10 days - which did not work, then Avelox 14 days). Just finished the Avelox course, but still having some post nasal drip and sore throat. But generally feeling better. Question: How would you assess the risk of this encounter for STD's and HIV in particular? Does female ejaculate fluid contain the HIV virus? What about other STD's?
Avatar f tn Those with metabolic syndrome had lower magnesium levels than those not having the problem. In particular, magnesium affected blood sugar levels and insulin resistance. Another recent study showed that taking 600 mg of magnesium per day significantly improved blood sugar metabolism as well as triglycerides and cholesterol.
317787 tn?1473358451 Hello, has anyone ever tried magnesium for muscle cramps/spasms/pain? I am trying Magnesium Malate as I had heard it wouldn't cause diarrhea. I am also trying Magnesium Oil; I am curious to know if anyone has tried it and if it helps. Which magnesium would be the best one to take?
Avatar f tn Ive has pacs/pvcs for over a year! All tests have came back completely normal. Had 2 echoes and several ecg's. My blood work was normal. My magnesium was 1.9, which I know is in the normal range. But, I have read alot about magnesium benefiting people with heart palpitations. So my question is, do you think 1.9 is on the low end and would I benefit from taking magnesium supplements?
2120085 tn?1344765910 I do take magnesium, but I take it mainly for my IBS issues....mine are 250mg...and is magnesium oxide and when gone will be replaced with the citrate as more of it will be absorbed..... Avatar f tn Has anyone had a magnesium sulfate drip before? What were your side effects? And did it successfully slow your labour? or manage your blood pressure?
Avatar f tn Keep in mind that vitamins & minerals are important for kitty, but what's most important is that you get them in the right ratios. Calcium and phosphorus without enough vitamin D, for example, will produce bone abnormalities. Magnesium is probably the mineral of the most concern in cat nutrition for owners, and especially to owners of male cats because of its role in the formation of struvite uroliths (magnesium ammonium phosphate). However, magnesium is not a "bad guy".
Avatar f tn almost each person contains about 25 grams of magnesium, but half of that is in the bones. Magnesium is important in more than 300 chemical reactions that keep the body working properly.
433892 tn?1208431743 Hi! I have read lots of posts about the intake of Magnesium to help in reducing/controlling PVC's. I found this website interesting and it mentioned "irregular heart rhythms" as a cause of low Magnesium. Also, it said that even "high" levels of magnesium can cause symptoms of irregular heartbeat. So I guess it's worth a try!
Avatar f tn I am wondering on how worthwhile it would be to take magnesium (and any other) supplements to help combat my mild cardiomyopathy. If yes, how much and what kind? I have a 1 to 2 centimeter area of hypokinesis in left ventricle and very mild hypokinesis in right ventricle. LVEF - 45-50%. I have NSVT, inducable Sustained VT and V-Fib, as well as A-Fib. I do have an ICD. I take Coreg and Lisinopril. I am 34 years old. Thanks for your time and advice!
