Took Cipro and the sinus pain was not improved so that was follwed by a course of Avelox where I ended up in the ER by day 7 on it [couldn't walk on my own needed IV fluids]. Off it for a week now and still really tired, various nerve pain, joint pain, muscle fatigue...seems to cycle, weak and dizzy, some blurred vision but it's all better than it had been just seems it should be gone since the meds are out of my system.
I was diagnosed with pneumonia 4 days ago when I went in for pain in my heart area and shortness in breath.. I'm on antibiotics, still can't cough anything out but today I started feeling pain in my lower back area where kidneys are. I urinate every 10, 15 minutes and the color in clear.. My mouth is dry all the time which I think is a side effect from the antibiotics.
Could have the pneumonia caused issues in my kidneys or bladder???
If the tendonitis is due to Avelox then yes, it can be treated as usual. The pain and inflammation will subside once the medication leaves the body completely. This may take a week. This is treated with NSAIDs, rest and orthotics or specially designed foot wear to ease the pressure off the tendon. Take care!
I finished a 10 day course on Avelox about a week and a half ago, and so far have had no swelling. Does anybody have any idea why this happens?

Please help my anxiety as I have one confirmed swollen lymph node by my doctor who perscribed avelox. I am also experiencing pins and needled and a burnin feeling in my right leg as well as a stiff neck. Any help you could provide would he appreciated.
I have had a round of Avelox a few weeks ago and recently Omnicef 600mg/day for 10 days and still have discharge. Question,
wouldn't these antibiotics be affective against NGU, Chlamydia or Gonnorrhea? Thanks for the help.
After trying Doxy, Azithromycin, and Flagyl, the only antibiotic that finally worked was Avelox. The question now is what I should treat my partner with. I know from my experience that my NGU was passed sexually, and she needs to get treated before we can have sex again. The problem, is that she said she is allergic to Avelox. Another problem, is that since it is NGU, we cannot test to confirm if the bacteria is cured, and she is also asymptomatic.
I have had SEVERE joint pain from taking avelox. After 2 days of taking the antibiotic for a combined sinus and a mrsa staff infection, I had crippling joint & tendon pain in my knees, ankles, Achilles, shins and hips. After calling my dr. and speaking to my pharmacist, i stopped taking the medicine immediately. I made an appointment with the prescribing dr.

Currently I have 6 days remaining on the doxycycline and 9 days remaining on the avelox. I have not engaged in any sexual activity whatsoever since my diagnosis however I still have a very mild clear mucus discharge primarily in the morning; the penile itching and dysuria has abated.
I took a 7 day course of 400mg Avelox about one month ago (April 5th). I have had a good amount of tendon pain mostly in left achilles and in tendons on top and bottom of arch of foot as well as some heel and knee pain. Again, like I said primarily left side. The achilles pain has subsided some, most of the pain and discomfort now is in the foot.
i had them put me back on the clindamycin...the avelox seem to make me more constipated and stomach pain, it took the swelling i had down though, the clindamycin is giving me bad diareha. The drainage from my nose area is so bad it's awful. I don't understand why these docs are doing anything about it when all i do is shake...can't get too hot or too cold. I have begun to lose a lot of weight. I just want this over without me losing any inside parts or more skin.
Again, I had no discharge to speak of. My symptoms now are urethral pain, occasional pain in what i imagine is the general area of the prostate, and a sense of incomplete emptying of the urethra. I do not remember having any external lesions, so I put herpetic urethritis low on my list, but there is a great deal of contradictory information on the subject which brought in an element of doubt.

treated with doxycycline by end of june for 1 wk. started on avelox end of july for 1 wk. then given levaquin for a wk. by last wk doc said she didn't think was infection cause levaquin shoudl have killed anything, even though I was still having gobs of green phlegm coming down the back of my throat and out of my lungs. she sent me to the asthma and allergy clinic where i was tested for 27 diff allergies all negative for.

After two days of suffering ithcing in my urethra, followed by a frequent urge to urinate, I began to take some left over Avelox (400 mg) that I had on hand. Trust me, I know this was dumb. 36 hours after I began taking the Avelox (one dose on Friday night at 5:30 pm and one on Saturday at 5:00 pm) I had a swab for gonorrhea and chlamydia (1:45 pm on Sunday). The test results just came back negative. Is it possible that the Avelox ruined the test results?
I switched to Avelox and the stomach pain reduced quickly, so I do believe Rifampin was making it worse. About 2 weeks into Avelox I had some cramping in my left Achilles heel, so they switched me to Levaquin. If I have a problem with Levaquin, then no more drugs in that family for me. I don't know what the next choice is.

Symptoms got worse after day 5. Symptoms are pain in the left side of stomach and back pain. Very slight pain/discomfort in penis which is hardly noticeable. Did start out with discharge but this has gone away. Main problem is pain in lower left side and discomfort in back area which seems to be moving up my back. Going on for a year now. Just been prescribed Pristinamycin so heres hoping.
But a few weeks ago I had severe phrenic nerve pain and they diagnosed me with Lingular Pneumonia and I was hospitalized for a week on IV antibiotics (I had bilateral effusions as well as bacterial sepsis-my bp dropped to 50/30 and I had tachycardia and they flooded me with fluids which caused the effusion) . The first day I was on two ABT's, zithromax and something else but the IV versions.

Noticed strange muscle twitching all over body and flu like symptoms, no increased temperature, basically weakness as the main symptom.
Went to ENT month after taking Avelox for another mouth swab, no Staph, no E.
, got nasal spray and antibiotics so the sinuis better. But....I have popping and severe sharp pain in my left ear. What can I do.? I am doing Yoga breathing to help and popping them but as soon as I more around it comes back. Will this go away?
It has now been six months and I notice as the day goes the pain gets worse, I have no pain during the night or in the morning when I wake up. Also when the pain gets worse throughout the day I notice very clear small amount of discharge which looks exactly like pre-ejaculate just enough for my urethral opening to stick together.
