It's good to hear the ER worked you up for NGU and UTI. (UTI really is too rare in healthy men to be a serious consideration.) I also didn't realize you had been started on a full course of doxycycline. Once started, you should continue it. Since you don't have NGU and probably don't have either gonorrhea or chlamydia, I expect you will find your symptoms persist despite the antibiotic; my bet is that no bacterial infection is present.

During the Avelox course of treatment, I was coughing very hard over the sink in the bathroom and from my right nostril a huge liver looking clot came flying out and splashed all over the place my shirt was covered. It shocked me but then another of the same came out. I had a ct of sinuses the day before and I was very blocked . Next day along with green , came a strange orangey /yellow mucus came out constant for a day , then green again.
For many years I have pains that pop up for no reason in joints and muscles and last for usually three to six months and then vanish. I get rashes and tiny red spots on my shins and then clear up. treated with doxycycline by end of june for 1 wk. started on avelox end of july for 1 wk. then given levaquin for a wk. by last wk doc said she didn't think was infection cause levaquin shoudl have killed anything, even though I was still having gobs of green phlegm coming down the back of my throat and out of my lungs. she sent me to the asthma and allergy clinic where i was tested for 27 diff allergies all negative for.

Out of many causes of ankle and feet swelling , one cause is Leg infection . That is the reason why your symptoms subside for a while when you take antibiotics . Whenever you get swelling next time , please get a CBP with ESR test done to know the specific causative organism and take treatment accordingly . Please consult a physician for the same . Currently I have 6 days remaining on the doxycycline and 9 days remaining on the avelox. I have not engaged in any sexual activity whatsoever since my diagnosis however I still have a very mild clear mucus discharge primarily in the morning; the penile itching and dysuria has abated.
Thanks for the info. I was on Avelox for 14-day and I have not had discharge for over 7 weeks now. And the MG DNA test from urine is also negative.
However, I have symptome of chronic prostatitis, but doctors are not seeing any actual infections, and told me I should not be on AB.
Initially I had doxy for 3 weeks, but the UTI just came back after 2 weeks. I think a lot of people are as desperate as I am.

I was on levaquin, cipro, avelox sporadically for 5 years. They were trying to fight a sinus infection. I ended up with 24 diagnosis from 7 specialists. I truly thought that I was going to die. Fluroquinolones work as a chemotherapy. They will infest every system that your body has and will kill or attack vital organs. It usually takes at least 3 years of not taking any fluroquinolones before you will really notice an improvement.
ve been put on it twice this pregnancy, once for a uti and more recently for a kidney infection and 3 times my first pregnancy for uti's. I've never had any problems with it. All of my docs (and ive had quite a few because i moved during pregnancies and had to switch) have said its safe. They told me the benefits outnumber the risks.
get yourself checked for MG,if u havent already,e coli too if u r gay it could be a cause,if not get a prostate fluid examination,that under the microscope will tell if its infected and culture it from there if its possible.
If you have taken any of these drugs, do you remember if you took them before or after you developed cardiac symptoms. I am wondering if my cardiac symptoms are due to taking Avelox for a sinus infection. If you do need an antibioitic make sure that your doctor does not prescribe any of these drugs. They are associated with a number of devastating reactions.

Could be sinus infection too. Go to a hospital so that you can have head and chest x-rays. A chest x-ray is the ONLY way to rule out pneumonia. If you are getting the chest X-ray then no reason not to also have the head X-ray. Doctors treat a sinus infection they can see much more rigorously. Then leave with a good strong antibiotic, if it is a sinus infection you might try Avelox.

I went to the doc treated me for UTI after seeing what they called trace amounts of wbc in urine but they said they were very few??? No Help, after taking amox for 12 days I went back 2days after being off of Amox and was tested for everything except trich I also took additional HSV typ 1 and 2 test at 16 weeks negative except type one. Now my only concern is trich, since there is no accurate way to test for it in men and since the cure rate for treating it in men is not the best.
6 weeks ago I was diagnosed with pneumonia through a chest x-ray. I was put on Avelox and an inhaler. Two days later I had to go to the ER b/c the symptoms were worse. Breathing was more difficult. I was then given an antibiotic shot and a Zpac. They did a blood test-WBC was normal. I started to feel better the next week. I have SVT and going to see a university of Penn doctor on Wednesday about an ablation. I also have skipped beats, pauses, all the annoying stuff that freaks me out sometimes. Heart issues run on both sides of my family, my dad has afib. I'm 43 and have had tachycardia since my late 20s. Here's my problem. I am fighting a pretty severe infection, first it was upper respiratory and was given amoxicillian. 6 days later, I am running fevers and having bad head aches.
For a bladder infection that would be fine to try and cure it at home However a uti can jump out of your track and also infect your kidneys and it even gave me an infection in my Uteran wall thank god it was caught but a uti is nothing to play with get tested and get antibiotics just to keep baby safe
