Avelox and tendon pain

Common Questions and Answers about Avelox and tendon pain

avelox

Avatar m tn If the tendonitis is due to Avelox then yes, it can be treated as usual. The pain and inflammation will subside once the medication leaves the body completely. This may take a week. This is treated with NSAIDs, rest and orthotics or specially designed foot wear to ease the pressure off the tendon. Take care!
1994720 tn?1352742233 Thank you for your response. I have already seen a rheumatologist and neurologist about the strange tendon and nerve pain I've had ever since my surgery and subsequent sepsis incident. I never had these before and they are stumped. I have also read that high b12 and folate can actually mean I am not metabolizing/absorbing it well, hence they are ending up in my bloodstream at high levels.
Avatar f tn Took Cipro and the sinus pain was not improved so that was follwed by a course of Avelox where I ended up in the ER by day 7 on it [couldn't walk on my own needed IV fluids]. Off it for a week now and still really tired, various nerve pain, joint pain, muscle fatigue...seems to cycle, weak and dizzy, some blurred vision but it's all better than it had been just seems it should be gone since the meds are out of my system.
798555 tn?1292787551 so had cipro and levaquin in the past, lost 1 tenon in each shoulder due to rupture, have joint and tendon pain when tsking certain antibiotics, recently amox clav, guess you can be sensitive to My penicillin too.all drs look at me like im crazy when i tell them im. not tolerating an rx,huh? anyway,i usually feel better about later in day 1 or 2 then by day three its excruciating bordering on unbearable, what to do?
Avatar f tn Avelox... I went yesterday and saw a lung specialist, he calmed me down and told me that i only have a little pneumonia in my lower left side it's nothing to be worried about. It's the bronchitis that's causing a lot of pain in my chest and back that I did not have prior to the antibiotics.
Avatar m tn I have had a good amount of tendon pain mostly in left achilles and in tendons on top and bottom of arch of foot as well as some heel and knee pain. Again, like I said primarily left side. The achilles pain has subsided some, most of the pain and discomfort now is in the foot. I have taken quinolones a few times in the past (Cipro) with either no pain or some pain that subsided quickly at or shortly after end of course (same with left leg/foot, I think).
Avatar f tn I took the antibiotic Cipro (which causes tendon pain and ruptures) and now have a bunch of problems with both ankles. I have achilles tendon pain, and I also have pain and swelling on the inside of my ankle and arch of foot. It hurts to move my toes back, and I can't stand on my toes at all (can't even get off the ground). I also have no balance and sway. If I walk one foot in front of the other (like a drunk driving test), I fall.
Avatar n tn For many years I have pains that pop up for no reason in joints and muscles and last for usually three to six months and then vanish. I get rashes and tiny red spots on my shins and then clear up. The rashes last about the same three to six months. I had these pains in both my shoulders at once, which almost never happens, so I thought it was my rotator cuffs going due to the work that I do.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with more than six sites of tendonitis/bursitis following an unknown "flulike" episode in 2007. Prior to that I was in no pain, had no history of trauma or repetitive stress injury and was healthy aside from frequent infections. I now have been diagnosed with: - Bilateral Trochanteric bursitis and ITB syndrome - Baker's cysts/bursitis behind both knees - Bilateral Gluteal bursitis/tendonitis (not sure if that's correct term - ischeal bursitis?
Avatar n tn Try to pass urine every 2 hours or more frequently to wash away any collected blood and bacteria. Take tylenol for the pain every 4-6 hours and start a course of antibiotics, norfloxacin or ciprofloxacin at the earliest.
Avatar f tn I have had SEVERE joint pain from taking avelox. After 2 days of taking the antibiotic for a combined sinus and a mrsa staff infection, I had crippling joint & tendon pain in my knees, ankles, Achilles, shins and hips. After calling my dr. and speaking to my pharmacist, i stopped taking the medicine immediately. I made an appointment with the prescribing dr.
1373852 tn?1307843048 t end up with avelox but took leavaquin that is a kin of avelox and six days later ended up having respiratory failure and in the hospital for 3 months one of which I was in icu on a ventilator.Since then I have had widespread muscular pain and multiple tendonitis as well as other issues so I don't agree that these antibiotics don't have side effects maybe you should read up more about the new black box warnings.
Avatar f tn I had VERY weird hallucinations last night. I woke up out of a dead sleep, thinking my cat, who was stuck to my headboard (don't ask me how), was falling on me...I (thought) I tipped it back up, reached for the bedside lamp, which kept moving out of my reach, silly light, I finally got it on, cat was sleeping just fine on pillow, headboard was where it belonged. Everytime I closed my eyes I saw different cartoons and movies. Yes, I'm totally serious.
Avatar n tn t abated, provider considered trich, and mycoplasm as possible culprits). I was also put on avelox 400 mg for 10 days as well. Currently I have 6 days remaining on the doxycycline and 9 days remaining on the avelox. I have not engaged in any sexual activity whatsoever since my diagnosis however I still have a very mild clear mucus discharge primarily in the morning; the penile itching and dysuria has abated.
Avatar m tn I have shoulder pain for 6 months and feel a tendon moving when I lift my arm after extending it with my hand open and facing up. An Ultrasound revealed a 4 mm tear of the Supraspinatus tendon of the rotator cuff. An MRI was inconclusive. I have had 16 physical therapy sessions and continue to work at home with a rubber stretch band. I can not throw and despite doing my assigned exercises twice a day am not seeing any improvement. Does anyone have a suggestion for treatment?
Avatar m tn I'm a 34 year old male that suddenly was stricken with buttock and excruciating hip pain. I've had X-rays of my hip and lower spine, mri of lower lumbar and CT of pelvis with contrast. Of course everything has come back showing nothing. The mri showed no bulging discs or anything like that. I'm get in so much pain now in the hips and buttocks I take hydrocodone twice a day. I'm currently in my 4th week of PT and all the stretches and exercises don't decrease the pain.
Avatar m tn I have had a round of Avelox a few weeks ago and recently Omnicef 600mg/day for 10 days and still have discharge. Question, wouldn't these antibiotics be affective against NGU, Chlamydia or Gonnorrhea? Thanks for the help.
Avatar m tn Symptoms got worse after day 5. Symptoms are pain in the left side of stomach and back pain. Very slight pain/discomfort in penis which is hardly noticeable. Did start out with discharge but this has gone away. Main problem is pain in lower left side and discomfort in back area which seems to be moving up my back. Going on for a year now. Just been prescribed Pristinamycin so heres hoping.
Avatar m tn After trying Doxy, Azithromycin, and Flagyl, the only antibiotic that finally worked was Avelox. The question now is what I should treat my partner with. I know from my experience that my NGU was passed sexually, and she needs to get treated before we can have sex again. The problem, is that she said she is allergic to Avelox. Another problem, is that since it is NGU, we cannot test to confirm if the bacteria is cured, and she is also asymptomatic.
Avatar m tn With in the last month I was still having quite a bit of pain in the area behind the ankle bone and the tendon was extremely tight. The other night I was doing something and felt a pop in the area, now there is little pain and no tightness in the area where the subluxation was done, I have also been having the feeling of popping or moving of that tendon as I did before surgery. Is it possible I tore the repair? How easy is if for that to happen?
Avatar f tn For 2 months I have had pain and loss of motionin my left shoulder. I was mowing with a riding mower I heard and felt a load pop. Ihave been told its not a torn rotator cuff, its just a strain. I still have constant pain in my shoulder and I found a bruise on my shoulder it looks like it is going away but it looks like it covered all of my shoulder. What does this sound like? And what if anything can be done?
Avatar m tn I have been advised to have an operation (arthroscopic) to the tendons of my rigth shoulder. The procedure is to repair the rotator cuff tendon and the biceps tendon. This could be due to an old injury as I was analyzed some years back with a frozen shoulder. Recently the pain and disconfort on my rigth shoulder was accelerated by exercising at the gym. I have now rested for 6months and the pain has gone away but I have lost some power in my right shoulder.
Avatar m tn why are my knees tendor and sore this has been recent this year. An on going pain in front low part of my knee cap. I feel the when going up and down stairs ,sitting.
Avatar m tn After a couple of days I started feeling pain in my upper chest, shoulder, down my right arm and right underarm. The pain feels like a needle is jabbing me. Sometimes the pain will go away and somtimes it is very bad and lasts for weeks at a time. I also have some musle pain in these areas. Can you please help me figure out what to do about this.
Avatar n tn I was on it for two years for crazy infections bc I was unknowingly living in a home with mold. Yes it caused tendon swelling and pain but I’m glad to be alive without pneumonia MMRSA and MMR!
Avatar f tn I had bilateral knee replacement done in 2008. I went through the operation with no pain. Now, it's a different story. I have jolts of muscle and tendon pain. By that, I mean, if I take a step I get a jolt, which sometimes throws me forward. Sometimes, when I am walking I get a spasm of pain, then it will go away. I do not have constant pain. My walking is not very straight. Anyone with this kind of problem?
Avatar n tn Hi, and welcome. Foot pain is NO fun. I have ms and other diseases and one of my newer problems is foot drop. It's been coming and getting worse over time, but is now so bad it has to be braced. My Achilles tendon is shortened due to a weak muscle in my leg preventing me from being able to lift my foot. Anyway, being in the "terminator boot" would cause severe stiffness and immobility for long enough that you may suffer from Achilles tendon shortening too.
Avatar f tn This is likely to be due to lack of adaptation and some minor amount of trauma like ligamental or tendon strain. However serious injuries like fractures, ligamental/ tendon tears would need to be ruled out as well. To minimize the amount of trauma, it is advised to wear soccer shoes with adequate foot heel and arch support and adequate padding especially in the front.
