some people on another site recommened calcium and magnesium. I happened to be taking Milk Thistle and may have spared my liver from damage since it is an amazing healer of the liver. Spirulina is great for energy also Brewer's Yeast and Bee Pollen(make sure you're not allergic to it before you take it. andrew lessman's vitamins also seem to be great. Does anyone know if its ok to take antibiotics with riba? I'm not sure if I should take a dose of each together or should I wait and take the antibiotic (Avelox 400mg) separately. I'd rather take them together because each should be taken with food and I don't have much appetite so when I do manage to eat I'd like to get all the drugs down at once. Any input would be helpful.
For many years I have pains that pop up for no reason in joints and muscles and last for usually three to six months and then vanish. I get rashes and tiny red spots on my shins and then clear up. The rashes last about the same three to six months. I had these pains in both my shoulders at once, which almost never happens, so I thought it was my rotator cuffs going due to the work that I do.
During the Avelox course of treatment, I was coughing very hard over the sink in the bathroom and from my right nostril a huge liver looking clot came flying out and splashed all over the place my shirt was covered. It shocked me but then another of the same came out. I had a ct of sinuses the day before and I was very blocked . Next day along with green , came a strange orangey /yellow mucus came out constant for a day , then green again.

My Lyme doc has refused to prescribe either matronidazole or Levaquin as he says they are too heavy on the liver and have to many potential side effects. Yet I keep reading they are great for treating bart as well as lyme.
I wonder if I should insist a bit more and keep on at him. What do you think?

Currently I have 6 days remaining on the doxycycline and 9 days remaining on the avelox. I have not engaged in any sexual activity whatsoever since my diagnosis however I still have a very mild clear mucus discharge primarily in the morning; the penile itching and dysuria has abated.
After trying Doxy, Azithromycin, and Flagyl, the only antibiotic that finally worked was Avelox. The question now is what I should treat my partner with. I know from my experience that my NGU was passed sexually, and she needs to get treated before we can have sex again. The problem, is that she said she is allergic to Avelox. Another problem, is that since it is NGU, we cannot test to confirm if the bacteria is cured, and she is also asymptomatic.
If the tendonitis is due to Avelox then yes, it can be treated as usual. The pain and inflammation will subside once the medication leaves the body completely. This may take a week. This is treated with NSAIDs, rest and orthotics or specially designed foot wear to ease the pressure off the tendon. Take care!

also been on the avelox a week now and still have a week to go, but infection is just getting worse. have been making sure not to take any dairy or other minerals with it, 8 hrs before or 4 hrs after taking it. doc told me to take my omeprazole every day for my acid reflux (which i haven't had any problems with in quite a while) because she thought my acid reflux might be causing all of this to be worse and making my asthma flare up.
I have now bad migraines for over a month now. I have been in and out of docs and ERs and no one is helping. I read it could be my liver from the rash. I even thought it was my teeth. The dentist gave me antibiotics but it's very hard to take them when I never know about the diareha.
After my surgery i broke out in red blood spots all over my body and they continue to come out my doc said it was nothing but i am so weak I can't do much and it's very hard to sleep.
There are so many medications that mention "tachy" as a possible side effect. I'm not sure if the arrhythmia becomes permanent however. Often it clears up once the medication is discontinued/ended. I've taken Cipro a couple of times now and I'm prone to arrhythmias LOL and never noticed any difference while on the med. My albuterol for asthma cranks up my heart rate but only for 10 minutes or so.

Just finished the Avelox course, but still having some post nasal drip and sore throat. But generally feeling better. Question: How would you assess the risk of this encounter for STD's and HIV in particular? Does female ejaculate fluid contain the HIV virus? What about other STD's?
I had pneumonia after contracting the flu in July. Was treated with Avelox and, when symptoms came back, Azithromycin.
I still have a cough, which seems, at times, to improve and then recur. The cough is not severe, though there is a sensation of irritation, of needing to expel something in my chest, left side. I have wheezing upon forceful exhalation.

I have been on avelox for 5 days now it still burns when i pee, the tip of the penis is swollen and the hole is red and swollen. 2 days ago i went to the urgent care and got tested for my urine sample and that showed up clear and I called today and they stated the std of gon. and chlymadia were negative. He did give me 1 g zithromax which I took yesterday.
Then a couple weeks later, another round of Doxy, then Metrondinazole and azythromicin. I was then in port, got a digital rectal exam, (very painful) and was prescribed Avelox. I took it for 35 days, and things were well, more or less. Back in port, went to resupply on avelox, they didnt have it, doc put me on cipro/trinidazole combo. Now a week later and the pain is back in my urethra.
Could this be episodes of Herpetic urethritis?
I am 39, female in pretty good shape (I run and work out regularly) I came down with Pneumonia after I had visited both the Bahamas and France in February and March. I came back from the bahamas with a cough, I got really bad in Paris and then seemed to get better when I came back home.
