Avelox and fatigue

Common Questions and Answers about Avelox and fatigue

avelox

Avatar f tn Took Cipro and the sinus pain was not improved so that was follwed by a course of Avelox where I ended up in the ER by day 7 on it [couldn't walk on my own needed IV fluids]. Off it for a week now and still really tired, various nerve pain, joint pain, muscle fatigue...seems to cycle, weak and dizzy, some blurred vision but it's all better than it had been just seems it should be gone since the meds are out of my system.
Avatar n tn For many years I have pains that pop up for no reason in joints and muscles and last for usually three to six months and then vanish. I get rashes and tiny red spots on my shins and then clear up. The rashes last about the same three to six months. I had these pains in both my shoulders at once, which almost never happens, so I thought it was my rotator cuffs going due to the work that I do.
Avatar f tn Avelox... I went yesterday and saw a lung specialist, he calmed me down and told me that i only have a little pneumonia in my lower left side it's nothing to be worried about. It's the bronchitis that's causing a lot of pain in my chest and back that I did not have prior to the antibiotics.
Avatar n tn t abated, provider considered trich, and mycoplasm as possible culprits). I was also put on avelox 400 mg for 10 days as well. Currently I have 6 days remaining on the doxycycline and 9 days remaining on the avelox. I have not engaged in any sexual activity whatsoever since my diagnosis however I still have a very mild clear mucus discharge primarily in the morning; the penile itching and dysuria has abated.
Avatar m tn Went to see a couple of doctors and they think it is sinus infection - so went on two anti-biotic treatments (Augmentin 10 days - which did not work, then Avelox 14 days). Just finished the Avelox course, but still having some post nasal drip and sore throat. But generally feeling better. Question: How would you assess the risk of this encounter for STD's and HIV in particular? Does female ejaculate fluid contain the HIV virus? What about other STD's?
Avatar m tn I have had a round of Avelox a few weeks ago and recently Omnicef 600mg/day for 10 days and still have discharge. Question, wouldn't these antibiotics be affective against NGU, Chlamydia or Gonnorrhea? Thanks for the help.
1373852 tn?1307843048 t end up with avelox but took leavaquin that is a kin of avelox and six days later ended up having respiratory failure and in the hospital for 3 months one of which I was in icu on a ventilator.Since then I have had widespread muscular pain and multiple tendonitis as well as other issues so I don't agree that these antibiotics don't have side effects maybe you should read up more about the new black box warnings.
Avatar m tn After trying Doxy, Azithromycin, and Flagyl, the only antibiotic that finally worked was Avelox. The question now is what I should treat my partner with. I know from my experience that my NGU was passed sexually, and she needs to get treated before we can have sex again. The problem, is that she said she is allergic to Avelox. Another problem, is that since it is NGU, we cannot test to confirm if the bacteria is cured, and she is also asymptomatic.
Avatar m tn If the tendonitis is due to Avelox then yes, it can be treated as usual. The pain and inflammation will subside once the medication leaves the body completely. This may take a week. This is treated with NSAIDs, rest and orthotics or specially designed foot wear to ease the pressure off the tendon. Take care!
Avatar f tn tightness in the chest, fever, breathing problems and a lot of fatigue. I looked on a few websites and it seems to be a recurring theme. Some people have had it on and off since christmas. Not sure if you have the same thing, but there is definately something going around with the symptoms you mention.
Avatar n tn Now, exactly one month later, I have come down with a fever again, along with a weird tickly feeling in the throat/chest, and moderately dry cough, terrible body aches, fatigue, etc. The doctor thinks I might have the flu but put me on Avelox as a precaution against bacterial infection. I feel completely miserable and I cannot figure out why I am so sick again so soon. Is this common after a bout with pneumonia?
Avatar m tn Hence you will need to get heart function assessed by ECHO and EKG, get kidney and liver function tests done and get a complete blood picture for anemia. Low sodium in blood, hypothyroidism and malabsorption syndromes causing low protein in blood have to be looked into. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Take care!
Avatar m tn I think as I have gotten older its has gotten worse and might now need that new ballon procedure for the sinus...avelox and levaquin are like poison to me after being on them for so many weeks,,,anxiety,fatigue...insomnia...restlessness stomach upset...elevated heart rate...floroquines are bad...I still feel effects weeks after stopping them...I hope thats all it is...thanks Doctor...
Avatar f tn also been on the avelox a week now and still have a week to go, but infection is just getting worse. have been making sure not to take any dairy or other minerals with it, 8 hrs before or 4 hrs after taking it. doc told me to take my omeprazole every day for my acid reflux (which i haven't had any problems with in quite a while) because she thought my acid reflux might be causing all of this to be worse and making my asthma flare up.
Avatar n tn Some cancers, like lymphoma, hormone disorders like carcinoid syndrome and hypothyroidism and hypoglycemia (low blood glucose) and some neurologic conditions like strokes, autonomic neuropathy, and post-traumatic syringomyelia can also cause night sweats. Medications like aspirin, acetaminophen, niacin, tamoxifen, Viagra and antidepressants are often linked to night sweats. Pls check out these conditions with your physician as treatment of night sweats will depend on the cause.
Avatar f tn I took Avelox for 10 days which finally got be past it BUT once I stopped taking the Avelox I developed wheezing and a cough and pain when I tried to take a deep breath. This lasted for, oh, six weeks or so. Long enough to have me VERY concerned that I might have a chronic condition. Six weeks, at least to me, is a LONG time to go and not get any better. But then, three days ago, I had probably my worst day of coughing yet. And the next day...I was better. Not COMPLETELY better.
Avatar f tn I found a post that said that medications from the fluoroquinolone antibiotics (such as Cipro, Levaquin, Tequin, Avelox or Floxin) can cause these symptoms...I took Cipro and Levaquinn about 7 years ago, for a few short days each and my doctor switched the medication saying I was allergic. Now I am wondering if all my symptoms that have gone undiagnosed could be a side effect of those medications. Anyone else able to tie the two together? If so, what can you do to make it better?
Avatar f tn I know this is a late comment, but did you take an antibiotic for your sinus infection? There are several that cause the side effects you've described. They are Cipro, Levaquin, and Avelox. This is known as fluoroquinolone toxicity syndrome because this class of drugs is known as fluoroquinolones. There's a film called Certain Adverse Events that describes the stories of people in similar situations. And there are several online support groups. I wish you good health and healing.
Avatar f tn There are so many medications that mention "tachy" as a possible side effect. I'm not sure if the arrhythmia becomes permanent however. Often it clears up once the medication is discontinued/ended. I've taken Cipro a couple of times now and I'm prone to arrhythmias LOL and never noticed any difference while on the med. My albuterol for asthma cranks up my heart rate but only for 10 minutes or so.
Avatar n tn Basic Background: I am male who just turned 38 (almost) two weeks ago. In college I would get together with my buddies about once or twice every week or two and smoke a few cigars (I didn't inhale). I have had an occasional cigar since then (in the last 10 years), but never smoked cigarettes. I've had a persistent cough for years which has always been explained by my doctors as being caused by post nasal drip due to allergies (dust and/or hay fever).
Avatar n tn I had a root canal performed on my bottom molar in Jan. 2007 and since have had pressure on my head mostly when lying down, high blood pressure (never had before), and an overall feeling of fatigue - taking a few naps during the day which I never did before!
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if its ok to take antibiotics with riba? I'm not sure if I should take a dose of each together or should I wait and take the antibiotic (Avelox 400mg) separately. I'd rather take them together because each should be taken with food and I don't have much appetite so when I do manage to eat I'd like to get all the drugs down at once. Any input would be helpful.
Avatar f tn Are you still in school? Because many colleges have Doctors/labwork/pharmacy supported by your tuition. I have used it and so has my daughter. Usually the visit is free...lab work FAR cheaper as is the pharmacy prices. If not ..... if you do have an autoimmune problem, I would suggest finding a place to draw blood for a SEDRATE and ANA and cortisol tests. These would show antibodies and inflammation in the body. I'm not in the medical field but do have autoimmune problems.
Avatar n tn I talked to her yesterday and she said to start the Avelox antibiotic which I did yesterday. I now have 2 doses in me. I also started Zyrtec yesterday per the allergist recommendation.
Avatar n tn I had pneumonia after contracting the flu in July. Was treated with Avelox and, when symptoms came back, Azithromycin. I still have a cough, which seems, at times, to improve and then recur. The cough is not severe, though there is a sensation of irritation, of needing to expel something in my chest, left side. I have wheezing upon forceful exhalation. A chest x-ray on 7/19/09 showed "Prominent interstitial markings left midlung anteriorly.
